The startup was cofounded as a nonprofit research lab by a group of 11 people in 2015.Since then, it has grown rapidly and amassed a wealth of users since it launched ChatGPT in 2022. In September, the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/openai-investors-latest-funding-round-2024-10">$157 billion company</a> said it has more than 1 million paying business users globally, a sharp increase from 600,000 in April.Alongside its rapid growth, the company has been hit by a series of controversies over the years, like the brief ousting of its CEO, Sam Altman, in November 2023. More recently, a wave of high-profile exits has put it in the spotlight, with executives like former CTO <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mira-murati-openai-cto-leaving-executive-memo-staff-2024-9">Mira Murati leaving last month</a>. Barret Zoph, the vice president of research, and Bob McGrew, chief research officer, left on the same day as Murati. OpenAI has also lost two cofounders this year: Ilya Sutskever, who <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ilya-sutskever-leaving-openai-6-months-after-failed-altman-ouster-2024-5">announced his departure</a> in May, and John Schulman, who <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/openai-rivals-anthropic-perplexity-on-prowl-after-wave-exec-departures-2024-10">defected to its rival Anthropic</a> in August. Nor does she include the company on her LinkedIn profile. However, she was listed as a founding member on an early version of the company's website. According to her LinkedIn profile, she used to work at Facebook as an AI research engineer before joining Stripe as a software engineer in 2016. She left in 2019 as an AI tech lead. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is a roboticist and was a partner at Y Combinator until 2020. The batter averages 52.2 and strikes at 180 in the West Indies, where he has gotten two centuries and two fifties in 14 innings with 574 runs. England will be in battle against two of the best pacers of this tournament, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh. In six matches, Bumrah has taken 11 wickets so far in the tournament at an average of 8.54 and an economy rate of just above 4. His best bowling figures are 3/7. Arshdeep is the second-highest wicket-taker, with 15 scalps in six games at an average of 11.86 and best figures of 4/9. How Salt and Buttler survive their onslaught in powerplay will be crucial in deciding the course of the match. Men in Blue, on the other hand, have everything going right for them, except Virat's form maybe. Undefeated, they have registered comprehensive wins while chasing and defending alike and their campaign has been an incredible team effort. However, the pressure of playing in knockouts becomes a different kind of beast for India, who have fallen inches short of an ICC trophy nearly every year after a semifinal/final qualification. The second semifinal could be in for a tight squeeze if persistent rain takes place because, as per rules, a result can only be decided if both teams bat for at least 10 overs. In the majority of T20 games, the teams batting second are supposed to bat for at least five overs in order to achieve a result. This system was in place for the majority of the ICC T20 World Cup matches. But in the knockout games though, teams batting second will have to face at least 10 overs in order to decide on a result as per the Duckworth-Lewis method. This was also the case for the knockout games in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. As per an ICC spokesperson, overs will be reduced only from 2:40 PM, which is 250 minutes after the scheduled start of 10:30 am. For a 10-over match, the game will have to start at 4:14 PM local time, the spokesperson added, as per ESPNCricinfo. If the game is not completed and is washed out due to rain, Men in Blue will move to the finals due to them topping the Super Eights group, as compared to England's second-place finish in Group two.

India vs England: Major talking points ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup semi-final clash

His interruption came as Rachel Strickland, an attorney representing two Georgia election workers whom Giuliani defamed and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-trial-jury-verdict-defamation-damages-georgia-election-workers-2023-12">owes $148 million</a>, urged the judge to dismiss <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-bankruptcy-filings-spending-habits-2024-6">the bankruptcy case</a> and allow the claims against Giuliani to play out in different courts. Keeping the case in bankruptcy court would inevitably lead to Giuliani hiding his assets and being charged with bankruptcy crimes, Strickland said. "We will all be stayed while the trustee in this court wades through the morass of sexual assault and other allegations while Mr. Giuliani continues to play golf," Strickland said, her voice scathing. Giuliani's attorneys appeared in person in Manhattan's bankruptcy court for the hearing, but Giuliani himself called in by phone. "Ted! Would you get them on the phone and stop—" Giuliani shouted, appearing to refer to his spokesperson Ted Goodman. "Alright, someone's got a live microphone, and that's not a good situation," the bankruptcy judge said. As muffled noises continued to emerge from Giuliani's phone line, the judge, Sean H. Lane, tried to silence it. "We keep having that same telephone pop up," Lane said. "Let me ask in court if we can make sure to have that muted, please." "Your honor, this is the Rudolph Giuliani," Giuliani said amid the static of his phone. He asked for a break to talk to his lawyers and address Strickland's "defamatory remarks." Lane asked Giuliani to wait his turn to speak. Later in the hearing, Giuliani's attorney Gary Fischoff assured the court that his client would not commit bankruptcy fraud. "I just wanted to state something for the record," Fischoff said. "There were some statements that the debtor would commit bankruptcy fraud. So I just wanted to state for the record that Mr. Giuliani, the debtor, would not commit any bankruptcy fraud." <h2>The judge said he'll probably dismiss Giuliani's bankruptcy case</h2>Wednesday's bankruptcy hearing comes at a major turning point for Giuliani's bankruptcy process — where he may actually score a major legal win. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-bankruptcy-millions-owed-defamation-chapter-11-2023-12">Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy</a> in December, shortly after a jury in Washington, DC, found him liable for $148 million in damages for defaming Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss, the two election workers who he falsely claimed manipulated ballots in the 2020 election. The bankruptcy filing paused their lawyers from enforcing the judgment against them, which formed nearly all of his $152 million in debt. It also paused all the other civil cases against Giuliani, including a sexual abuse lawsuit from Noelle Dunphy and another defamation lawsuit from the election technology company Dominion Voting Systems. Over the past seven months, Giuliani has tried to buy time with motions to slow down the bankruptcy process as he appeals the $148 million judgment. At the same time, creditors have accused Giuliani of filing misleading and incomplete financial statements, and of hiding streams of income. They <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-bankruptcy-trustee-could-take-financial-control-2024-6">asked Lane to appoint a Chapter 11 trustee</a>, who would have the power to seize legal control of his assets and sell them to satisfy everyone who was owed money. "It is in the interest of creditors for their claims to be heard in the forum of their choosing" and not bankruptcy court, Strickland said in Wednesday's hearing. Lane said he was inclined to agree and dismiss the bankruptcy, citing "the difficulties we've had in terms of transparency in this case." "That's not going to magically change if you continue the case in 11 with the trustee," Lane said. The judge said that a Chapter 11 trustee could easily liquidate Giuliani's two apartments and jewelry, which comprise the bulk of his estimated $8 million estate. But liquidating Giuliani's other assets, like his media company and coffee operation, would be difficult to disentangle from the former New York City mayor's personal brand, he said. Dealing with those could incur expenses that would ultimately come out of the pockets of creditors who were owed money, the judge said. Philip Dublin, an attorney representing the other creditors in the bankruptcy — including Dunphy and Dominion — objected to that plan. He said the best way to fairly split Giuliani's assets would be to appoint a Chapter 11 trustee who would liquidate Giuliani's assets. But Strickland said her clients had priority — and they wanted the case dismissed. "We are the significant focus of the case," she said. "We are $148 million." The judge said he would issue an order by Friday and asked the parties to meet and figure out how to pay expenses for a discovery vendor, a third-party company that has already done months of work obtaining and organizing Giuliani's records for the case. Lane also said he would not approve Giuliani's preferred backup plan of converting the bankruptcy process from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7, which would allow him to save future income for himself while liquidating his current assets. Justin Kelton, an attorney representing Dunphy, told Business Insider that she would continue to pursue her sexual abuse claims in court if the judge dismissed the bankruptcy case. The Reno 11 Pro sports a glass back and front, with particularly the ‘Pearl White’ color standing out. I am usually not a big fan of patterns on a smartphone but the back on Reno 11 Pro has been executed beautifully. It has a matte finish to it which also encourages you to let go of a case. However, be careful since you do not want to drop it. Oppo has tried to compensate by giving it a silver finish with toothed edges. And yet I have not been able to wrap my head around it. Beyond that the design carries familiar elements. We have the volume rockers and power button on the right edge, and yes they are tactile. At the bottom we have the Type-C charging port next to the SIM card slot and speaker grill. The smartphone supports 2 micro SIMs. On top we have the rejuvenated IR blaster here, a feature which has made a comeback in a big way across devices. And yes it's more useful than you can imagine. A universal remote in your pocket? I can vouch for that. I am not complaining since the output isn’t bad by any means. But yes it does carry forward its minute yet noticeable weaknesses. The Reno 11 Pro flaunts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display boasting a screen resolution of 2412X1080 Pixels, showcasing a brightness reaching up to 950 Nits. The peak brightness is also similar to last year's Pro variant. Whether you're engrossed in content or merely glancing at the always-on screen, this luminous panel offers ease on the eyes, even under direct sunlight. With crisp details, natural colors, and a curved display that enhances the overall viewing experience, it's a standout feature. However, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ at a lower price offers a brighter display with 1800 nits of peak brightness. And you will notice the difference between the two devices especially while watching content and at bright outdoors. Oppo's implementation of the always-on display deserves praise. Its customisable and the wallpaper options are also commendable. However, as with curved screens, occasional mistouches remain a slight inconvenience. Despite its excellent execution, inadvertent touches leading to accidental app openings or difficulties with the volume slider in portrait mode are minor trade-offs. The display seamlessly integrates an optical fingerprint scanner. While it takes a split second to unlock the device, its consistent performance without misses is commendable. The screen truly shines in the viewing experience, especially when coupled with the 120Hz refresh rate. The standard 120Hz refresh rate offers a smoother experience for gaming and content consumption, flawlessly delivered by the Reno 11 Pro. While switching between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz may cause a slight lag, the superior visual experience compensates for it. The bright, color-accurate panel is a delight, supporting HDR 10 &amp; 10+ for HD content on OTT apps like Disney Plus Hotstar. For instance, watching What If Season 3 on the platform provides a diverse range to evaluate the display quality, from bright outdoor scenes to dark indoors. Fortunately, the Reno 11 Pro excels in these tests. The display maintains accuracy throughout, showcasing deep blacks and minimal light leakage. For content consumption enthusiasts, the Reno 11 Pro stands out. That being said, the auto brightness feature here is out of sync while watching content. With the phone really dimming down when it's not necessary. So I preferred keeping the auto brightness off throughout the day. Oppo has also prioritized sound quality, evident in the stereo speaker setup that delivers loud audio output with retained detail even at lower volume levels, albeit with potential detail loss in super volume mode. Software The Oppo Reno 11 Pro arrives with Android 14 out of the box, showcasing the ColorOS 14 skin. While the overall user experience of the skin remains consistent, there are some classic features I should highlight. Commencing with the general features, we see a considerable amount of pre-installed bloatware which stands out. Fortunately we have the ability to uninstall these apps. Notably, there are no questionable app recommendations, which is a positive aspect of the software. Visually, Color OS 14 retains its strengths with vibrant colors and crisp text, offering a user-friendly and easily navigable interface. The array of customization options is extensive, enabling personalization of various screen elements, from widgets to icon designs and color schemes. However, integrating elements from stock Android 14, especially within the drop-down menu, akin to the larger tiles seen in default Android skins like the Pixel 8, could enhance the overall user experience, in my opinion. Setting that observation aside, Oppo promotes ColorOS 14 as a more intelligent operating system with some standout features. Firstly, auto pixelation is introduced, automatically blurring people in screenshots to safeguard their identity. While it may miss some instances when operating automatically, manual blur options directly from the screenshot menu are welcomed. Another feature, Multi Screen Connect, facilitates connectivity between Oppo products like the Pad Air and enables Oppo smartphone connection with PCs. This feature is particularly useful for presentations, although the connection process might take some time. The device also supports fast pairing with Oppo Buds, a feature increasingly common in modern devices, akin to OnePlus devices and Nord Buds using OnePlus Fast Pair. The meeting assistant stands out as one of the most useful features, allowing the device to switch to a mobile network for a stable internet connection during video calls. Tested and proven practical, this feature comes in handy, especially if your router is distant from your seating area. Oppo emphasizes the future-proof nature of their devices, evident in their promised update cycles. The brand commits to offering three years of Android updates and four years of security updates for the Reno 11, ensuring users remain updated and secure over an extended period. Performance Oppo Reno 11 Pro runs on Mediatek Dimensity 8200, a respectable but older chipset. Oppo might get some flack for this decision, however I don’t see any blanket reason to complain. It’s efficient, enables SuperVOOC charging and works in tandem with the camera. Before I explain my experience let's get into some numbers. I ran a Geekbench 6 CPU test on the Oppo Reno 11 Pro. The single-core score for the device is 1220 and the multi-core score is 3516. These are respectable numbers and should satisfy both power hungry and efficient users. This is higher than the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ which scored 1121 and 2630 respectively. As anticipated, the Reno 11 Pro delivers consistent and dependable performance, thanks to the comprehensive package Oppo offers with this device. It boasts 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, more than adequate for most users. While it allows for internal RAM expansion using spare storage, I've yet to encounter a scenario where this feature is necessary. Speaking of performance, particularly in demanding tasks like gaming, I rigorously tested COD:Mobile on the Reno 11 Pro 5G, playing for at least 2 hours daily. Even with settings maxed out at HDR graphics I didn't experience any glitches or frame drops. The sizable 6.7-inch display enhances gaming, facilitating easy enemy detection and elimination. The blend of the high refresh rate and robust SoC ensures a seamless and fluid gaming experience. Compared to the Nord 3, the Reno 11 Pro 5G felt smoother, largely due to the superior SoC. After continuous gaming for about 50 minutes, the phone does warm up, but discomfort becomes noticeable only after the 1-hour mark. However, it quickly cools down, allowing swift return to gaming without significant delays. Efficient RAM utilization in the Reno 11 Pro 5G enables holding applications in the background for extended periods, including apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and heavier ones like COD: Mobile. Switching between apps is seamless, seamlessly picking up where you left off. This performance isn't limited to gaming; everyday use remains smooth, ensuring general users won't encounter issues. For basic users not heavily into gaming or pushing device limits, the specifications and real-life performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G might be excessive. With 256GB internal storage (where the system utilizes around 25GB), the remaining 225GB suffices for most users. If additional storage is needed, considering extra cloud storage is an option as the Reno 11 Pro doesn't support external SD cards. Before wrapping up, the battery performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G deserves mention. Equipped with a 4600mAh battery, it's challenging to drain, especially for light users. Impressive numbers indeed. With casual to heavy usage, I averaged around 7 hours of screen time, encompassing gaming, video calls, and YouTube consumption. For light users, the battery life extends even further, comfortably lasting over a workday. Supporting 80W SuperVOOC charging, the device excels in efficiency. The bundled 80W charger replenishes the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 35 minutes, even with mobile data turned on. Camera Now the resolution on the cameras on 11 Pro are practically the same but their is a difference in results. Especially the low light performance. With its triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary camera, a 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, the Reno 11 Pro offers a versatile photography experience. The 50MP camera impresses with its sharp imagery, vibrant colors, and exceptional dynamic range, particularly in bright outdoor conditions. Oppo's algorithm enhances these images, presenting final results that may differ from what's initially seen in the viewfinder. Even spontaneous shots retain detail when zoomed in. Utilizing the dedicated 50MP mode elevates detail and ensures accurate color reproduction. Indoor photography, however, displays limitations, notably in noise and dynamic range, particularly in challenging lighting conditions. Nonetheless, activating the night mode improves performance. The 32MP telephoto sensor impresses with its ability to capture sharp shots indoors and outdoors. Portrait mode excels in edge detection, creating a pleasing bokeh effect around multiple subjects in a frame. The 8MP ultra-wide sensor performs well by maintaining color accuracy without significant deviations. It has been edited for length and clarity.I was diagnosed with <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.nf1pn.com/hcp/">neurofibromatosis</a> type 1 with plexiform neurofibromas (NF1-PN) as a toddler, so I don't remember a time before the symptoms. Growing up, my biggest impact from NF1-PN — which causes tumors to form throughout the body — was scoliosis, which is a curvature of my spine. I needed my first spine surgery when I was just 2, and I was fragile as a kid from the metal rods in my back. There was no football or roughhousing for me.I was a kid with restrictions, but I just wanted to be a kid. So, I pushed the limits. My mother never coddled me, and I'm grateful for that. She never let me use <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/disabled-dating-app-founder-discrimination-bumble-2023-12">my disability</a> as an excuse.At first, I went to a school for disabled kids, but I wasn't being academically challenged. In third grade, I asked my mom to let me transfer to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-i-learned-teaching-in-public-school-for-23-years-2023-9">public school</a>. A bully in my grade sent me home in tears every day. One day, the teacher told the bully to sit and listen to my story. With my advisor's help, I talked with my teachers, and many of them worked with me. Because of that, I was able to graduate with my bachelor's degree in five years. I needed to be on a ventilator occasionally, especially at night time. Despite that, I kept up with school and worked full time.I graduated from my <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/masters-degree-scam-higher-education-millennials-genz-student-loan-debt-2022-5">master's program</a> while I was in the intensive care unit. I live-streamed the ceremony and marched across the nurses' station to get my degree. It wasn't the ceremony I had envisioned, and I missed my classmates, but I was still so proud.<h2 id="91230cb9-edd7-4ce3-a816-3dbeb24ec169">I want others to handle adversity, not let it handle them</h2>After that, I knew I could do anything. I started having trouble drawing a full breath. I even wet myself a few times. Doctors told me it happened because my oxygen levels had dipped dangerously low.That's when they knew I needed to be on the ventilator full-time. I knew they were right, and I wasn't going to let that hold me back. I made the decision to be happy, and keep living my life. I ordered a cart from Amazon and pushed <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-its-like-to-be-on-a-ventilator-with-coronavirus-2020-4">my ventilator</a> around with me wherever I went — including at my job as a manager for an entertainment company.I want other people to know that adversity doesn't have to be your destiny. We're all going to encounter adversity, and you're in control of how you respond to it.Recently, I was checking out at Walmart, and the lady at the cash register told me her 2-year-old <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/babysitting-grandchildren-rewarding-games-spontaneous-2024-7">granddaughter</a> had just been put on a ventilator. She hugged me and told me I gave her hope; if her grandbaby has to be on a ventilator for life, she can still have a full, meaningful life. Inspiring people like that keeps me going and makes everything I've been through worth it.

The event showcased a long list of products, but the highlight was obviously the <keyword id="15577203" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="OnePlus-11-5G" source="Orion">OnePlus 11 5G</keyword>, company’s latest smartphone in the premium segment. It's unusual for OnePlus to launch only the non-Pro variant, but it's not surprising as even last year, it only launched the OnePlus 10 Pro in the series, followed by the 10R and 10T. It completely skipped the vanilla variant for some reason. However, the eyes are back on the OnePlus 11, and the bets are big this time as it promises to "achieve the extraordinary." It gets the top-end chipset and hardware, an impressive display, and everything premium on paper. So half the job is done there, but it remains to be seen how true that turns out in real life and in the long run. I got a chance to spend more than a week with the phone and have some thoughts to share. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Price and availability" comment="subhead" text="Price and availability">Price and availability</cmsannotation> The OnePlus 11 has been priced at ₹56,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹61,999 for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The device is currently available for pre-orders and will go on sale from February 14. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Design and display" comment="subhead" text="Design and display">Design and display</cmsannotation> <div type="image" title="IMG_8794" msid="97702041" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 10 Pro and the OnePlus 11&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The OnePlus 11 carries forward the design and form of the OnePlus 10 Pro. So much so that it's difficult to tell apart these two from the front and sides but don't take it as a complaint. I really enjoyed the in-hand feel, material, and build quality of the 10 Pro, which is the case with the OnePlus 11. Also, when you lay them flat with the screen facing down, you see the real difference - the new camera island. It's different not only from last year's model but also from any other phone in the market. <div type="image" title="IMG_8789" msid="97702092" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus 11 camera module&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> While I found last year's design to be neater and more flush, the new one also impressed me with a chrome stainless steel dial leaking off to the side. It's utterly subjective whether you like the camera design, but this is no longer a cheap-feeling smartphone. It's made out of good-quality glass and aluminum and feels very sturdy to hold. The back is smooth with a damp matte finish. That makes it slightly slippery, so slapping a case is highly recommended. The good part is that it's highly scratch and smudge resistant. It measures 163.1 mm × 74.1mm × 8.53 mm and weighs 205 g, which is ideal for a 6.7-inch phone. It has Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the display and Gorilla Glass 5 on the back. Note that it misses out on IP certification for water and dust resistance, but the company says it can withstand splashes and drizzle. <div type="image" title="Display" msid="97702020" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 11 features a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED&amp;lt;span class=&amp;quot;redactor-invisible-space&amp;quot;&amp;gt; display&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The display is a 6.7-inch 2K 120Hz Super Fluid AMOLED with LTPO 3.0. It is HDR 10+ certified, has Dolby Vision support, and has a 10-bit panel in line with the camera that can capture 10-bit photos. The addition of LTPO enables it to adjust according to specific usage. It identifies the content on the screen and matches it with the refresh rate and touch response between 1Hz and 10Hz. So, for example, while reading an ebook, the screen will work at lower rates, and if you're running a game, it will shoot up to 120Hz or 60Hz, depending on how much the game supports. Thankfully, these on-paper jargons also translate into real-life experience. The display is crisp, vibrant, super bright, and incredibly smooth. I can confidently call it a great display for its price, and any user would enjoy watching videos, playing games, and even scrolling on it. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Audio" comment="subhead" text="Audio">Audio</cmsannotation> I was really surprised with the loudspeaker performance on the OnePlus 11. Its display is Dolby Vision certified, and the speaker compliments it with its Dolby Atmos-powered sound quite well. Moreover, the audio performance is excellent not just from the loudspeaker but also from Bluetooth headphones. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Camera" comment="subhead" text="Camera">Camera</cmsannotation> <div type="image" title="Camera" msid="97702100" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus 11 camera setup&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The OnePlus 11 has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP IMX890 image sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) as primary, a 32MP IMX709 RGBW portrait telephoto lens powered by Hasselblad, and a 48MP ultrawide lens with Sony IMX581 sensor. The hardware is also topped by color science from Hasselblad. Although it's not the first time OnePlus has collaborated with the brand, the company says it's made some significant improvements in the optimizations. <div type="image" title="Crisp photos using primary sensor" msid="97702235" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured using the primary sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> All of that makes up for a good set of photography essentials, and I am particularly excited about the camera, to be honest. <div type="image" title="Camera UI Full" msid="97702112" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The camera UI on the OnePlus 11&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The camera app launches quickly and is laid out neatly with easy-to-understand settings and icons. It gives you many options to play with, and my favorite is the X-Pan mode and the filters you get pre-installed. <div type="image" title="X pan mode" msid="97702252" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in the X pan mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The color templated in both makes it very easy for a layperson to click cinematic shots with a very peculiar color correction that usually pros get to create. <div type="image" title="50mp natural light" msid="97702288" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured using the 50MP sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Note that you must turn on the hi-res option from the top of the viewfinder to use the 50MP sensor for photos. Turning it on automatically blocks zooming and auto macro features. But the results are pretty impressive. <div type="image" title="Portrait in artificial light" msid="97702267" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Portrait shot captured under artificial light&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Autofocus and shutter are very snappy in both still and videos. The portrait mode is also impressive in good lighting conditions, and what's better is that you can adjust the blurring effect while clicking a photo. <div type="image" title="Day light portrait_" msid="97702183" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in day light using portrait mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The daylight shots look very balanced in terms of colors, dynamic range, and white balance. As long as you have any amount of natural light, the results look very promising, and the shutter speed is also very quick. It's the same even for well-lit indoors, but as you move to darker situations, the colors start looking artificially blown, and the details are blown away. <div type="image" title="Low light portrait_" msid="97702200" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in low light conditions using portrait mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> In low light, there's a slight noise visible while using the night mode, but strangely the pictures look better in normal mode. I liked low-light photos, but they were not as good as flagships from Samsung and Pixel. <div type="image" title="Low light shot from primary" msid="97702311" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in low light conditions using the primary sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> I am highly impressed with the video capability. It can shoot 8K at 24fps and 4K at 60fps (which I prefer). The videos look great, especially of well-lit scenes, and they're at par with other flagships. The stabilization is very impressive, also the audio recording. It's safe to say that it can be a reliable companion for a content creator or a vlogger. Front camera is a 16MP shooter, and it doesn't seem like a significant upgrade over last year. You can get good-looking selfies in daylight and well-lit situations but low light shows prominent noise and lack in detail. Overall, I'm impressed with OnePlus 11's camera performance. I can't call it as good as the Pixel 7 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro, but it's certainly up there with them based on what I've seen so far. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software" comment="subhead" text="Software">Software</cmsannotation> The software part of the OnePlus 11 is what I am not a huge fan of. That's also because I am spoiled with the look and feel of good old OxygenOS over the years, as I've used almost every OnePlus phone till the OnePlus 8-series. <div type="image" title="Software" msid="97702335" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 11 runs on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 on top&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The OxygenOS 13 is based on Android 13, and it's no secret that it's a tweaked version of Oppo's ColorOS 13. While I prefer the older OxygenOS, I was surprised by the fluidity of this one and the number of smart features on this one. You get many customization options and features like split screen, flexible windows, quick return, and more. All of this makes it a good productivity tool. It will also come with the OxygenOS 13 and a promise that it will receive at least four years of major software updates and at least five years of security updates. My major concerns were regarding the optimizations. But so far, the software has felt stable, and I have not faced any issues. Still, I appreciate the older feel more than this colorful version, with a revamped user experience. I am supremely impressed with the haptics, though, as it feels very natural and solves the purpose of giving precise feedback to create visual and physical synergy in usage. So if you are okay with adapting to the new interface and are open to exploring more customizations, this version of the OS will not bother you much. It's quite swift and efficient in what it does. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance and battery" comment="subhead" text="Performance and battery">Performance and battery</cmsannotation> The OnePlus 11 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (system on chip), and I have the 16GB RAM and 256GB of UFS4.0 storage variant. It does pretty well in a 9-5 setting where one would start the day by scrolling social media, reading news, listening to music or watching something on the way to the office/college, making phone calls, and checking emails—then ending the day with some Call of Duty: Mobile action. <div type="image" title="DSC06577" msid="97702353" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 11 5G&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It's snappy and breathes and behaves the same way during all tasks throughout the day. At least, it has been that way for me, and I have no complaints. I am a smartphone gamer and have an hour-long Call of Duty: Mobile session every day. While the phone and its battery hold up well with the demanding graphics and gameplay, I still wouldn't call it the best gaming phone available. My go-to phone for gaming is the iPhone 14 Pro, and despite a bigger display, it did not intrigue me enough to want to switch to the OnePlus 11. In fact, the iPhone 14 still feels much smoother, or my eyes are accustomed to that experience. But if only Androids are counted, this one stands among the league's top for sure. Heating has been on the higher side while gaming and using the camera. It never got unusually hot, but temperatures are lower in winter; it was still 42-43 degrees Celcius hot at 23-24 degree Celcius room temperature. Multitasking is pretty smooth; I could open and use up to 8-9 apps simultaneously, and OnePlus claims the 16GB RAM can keep up to 44 applications active in the background. The OnePlus 11 has a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 100W SUPERVOOC charging that fuels it up in around 30 minutes. The screen on time turned out to be 7.5 hours on moderate usage, and on heavy days, I managed to kill it in 5.5 hours. But note that I played COD: Mobile for over 2.5 hours and used Instagram and YouTube shamelessly for over five hours on that day. You get the 100W charging brick and cable in the box, which is slowly vanishing from an increasing number of phones. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> OnePlus 11 lands among the few available phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and doesn't disappoint. It has a great set of hardware, a good design, a reliable camera, and better battery life - making it a value for money buy at ₹56,999 for the 8GB variant and ₹61,999 for the 16GB variant. For those looking for a phone that does everything fast, has a great display, and can run anything you throw at it, the OnePlus 11 is a perfect option for its price. But if you are willing to spend more, you should wait for the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Reviewer's opinion" comment="subhead" text="Reviewer's opinion">Reviewer's opinion</cmsannotation> An enthusiast-catering brand like OnePlus is playing it very safe for its stature. There's nothing so extraordinary that makes people talk about it. Should you buy it? Yes. But my disappointment is a bit personal as I expect the company to develop at least one element of the phone with a "wow" factor. What makes a good phone great? A little bit of courage to do things differently. I can only be hopeful to see something wow-worthy when it comes up with its foldable. But if we keep aside the phones, its new OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is super-impressive. We'll be posting a detailed review of the latest OnePlus TWS soon.
