Here’s a list of stocks to watch for in trade on September 18: Dr Reddy's Laboratories Dr Reddy's Laboratories said it had settled litigation with a unit of Bristol Myers Squibb related to patents for Revlimid (lenalidomide) capsules, used to treat various kinds of cancer. "We are pleased with the settlement agreement, and look forward to bringing a generic version of lenalidomide to market soon subject to regulatory approval for the benefit of patients," Dr Reddy's Laboratories North America Generics CEO Marc Kikuchi said. The share price of Dr Reddy's Laboratories closed 4.26% higher yesterday. TVS Motor Company One of India's largest automakers, TVS Motor, has entered into a new distribution partnership in Colombia. The company has tied up with Autotecnica Colombiana SAS (Auteco SAS), a leading motorcycle assembler in Colombia. Autotecnica Colombiana SAS will operate 50 dealerships exclusive for the company and create dedicated space for the brand in over 600 retail outlets, it added. The share price of TVS Motor closed a percent lower on Thursday. Vedanta Vedanta Resources has approached the market regulator SEBI for necessary approvals to start the reverse book building process. The company, earlier in May, announced its plans to delist Vedanta from the Indian stock exchanges by buying out non-promoter shareholding. The share price of Vedanta closed a percent higher on Thursday. IRCTC IRCTC, the company that operates Indian Railways, is planning to levy ‘affordable’ user charges in 700-1,050 stations across the country. It will help build more revenue while providing better facilities and redevelop stations for passengers. The share price of IRCTC closed a percent higher on Thursday. Hindalco and Hindustan Copper Hindalco said that it has entered into a pact with Hindustan Copper for the long-term purchase and sale of copper concentrate produced by the PSU. Under this MoU, around 60% copper content of Hindustan Copper's current concentrate production will be utilised by Hindalco in the manufacture of refined copper. The share price of Hindalco closed 4% lower on Thursday, whereas Hindustan Copper gained 3% during the closing bells. Sterling and Wilson Solar Sterling and Wilson Solar said that the company had won a 106.71 MW solar project in Chile, it's fifth in Latin America, worth $62.6 million (about ₹462 crore). "Sterling and Wilson Solar has signed an order of 106.71 MW worth USD 62.6 million in Chile. The order has been received from a global independent power producer (IPP), work for which is expected to begin in Q4 FY 2021," the company said in a statement. The share price of Sterling and Wilson Solar closed 5% lower yesterday. HDFC Bank A US-based law firm has filed a class-action suit against HDFC Bank, claiming damages for the losses incurred by investors because of "materially false and misleading" representations made by the bank. In fact, 27 of these companies were manufacturers. There wasn’t a single technology company or bank. In July 1990, the Sensex finally reached <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/stocks/news/digest-this-sensex-grew-390-times-in-40-years/tracing-the-growth-timeline/slideshow/68685220.cms">1000 points</a> after starting w<keyword id="6354185" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="IT">it</keyword>h 100 points in 1979. It reached the 3000 point mark in January 1992. But how?

 In December 1991, financial <keyword id="150139" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="liberalisation">liberalisation</keyword> happened. The reforms ushered in by the Congress government - at the behest of the World Bank and IMF - led to a dismantling of foreign investment and trade restrictions, a deregulation of capital markets and also made the economy more service-oriented. The Sensex started the year 2000 at just over <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=sensex&amp;rlz=1C1GCEU_enIN820IN820&amp;oq=sens&amp;aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i60l3j69i57j69i61.829j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8">5,400 points</a> and since then has amassed nearly 34,000 points, crossing 10000 points in February 2006 amid a boom in global commodity markets, and 20000 points in December 2007. Growth slowed down amid the <keyword id="6371665" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="financial-crisis">financial crisis</keyword> and the sluggishness of the UPA-II tenure. In fact, as a result of the global financial crisis struck, the Sensex went back to 9,328 points by the end of 2008. However, aided by monetary easing and liquidity support from central banks in developed countries, the index recovered slowly in the years since the financial crisis. It finally crossed the 25000 point mark in May 2014 after the BJP won national elections. The index crossed the 30,000 mark less than a year later and 35,000 mark in January 2018. As of today, a mere 7 stocks that were on the index at the point of its inception have remained. These are <keyword id="10926" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance">Reliance</keyword> Industries, ITC, HUL, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, <keyword id="8555" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata">Tata</keyword> Motors and Tata Steel. But what changed since the Sensex was first compiled? It incorporated companies from service industries like banking, telecom and IT while scrapping failing ones like Ballarpur Industries, a paper manufacturer whose product sales lagged owing to increasing digitisation, and Great Eastern Shipping. The rapid development of the information technology (IT) industry in the late 90s and early 2000s saw stocks like Infosys and TCS entering the index, replacing older companies. More significantly, banks and financial services companies make up a third of the stocks on the index - an indicator of the credit boom that has fuelled private investment and consumption by a rising middle class. As a result of liberalisation, India’s largest companies are less dependent on domestic sales and have been deriving a larger bulk of their revenues from <keyword id="35090" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="exports">exports</keyword>. While companies like Infosys benefitted from the IT outsourcing boom, automobile manufacturers like Tata Motors ventured into developed markets like the UK, <a href="https://www.tatamotors.com/press/tata-motors-completes-acquisition-of-jaguar-land-rover/">closing big acquisitions in the process. </a>

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 271 points lower, and the S&amp;P 500 was down 0.46%. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session today: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Dr Reddy’s Laboratories inked a pact with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals to acquire its select anti-allergy brands in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The acquired brands represent two types of products — mometasone mono-product and combination of mometasone with azelastine, which is indicated for the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, it added. The company, however, did not disclose financial details. Indiabulls Housing Finance Indiabulls Housing Finance further sold a portion of its stake in OakNorth Holdings to raise approximately ₹93 crore. Hindustan Construction Company Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), in a joint venture with Vensar Constructions Company (VCCL), has received two separate contracts worth ₹236 crore from the Northeast Frontier Railway for the construction of single line BG tunnels Lot 14A and Lot 15A on a 51.38-km long Bairabi-Sairang New BG Rail line in Manipur. Kolkata based <keyword id="132800" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hindustan-Motors">Hindustan Motors</keyword> Ltd has appointed Bhikam Chand Mishra as its chief financial officer. The company made the announcement in a disclosure to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The auto maker of the iconic ambassador car has appointed Mishra as the CFO of the company for the next two years. 
	 According to Mishra’s Linkedin profile, has earlier served the Hindustan Motors as general manager (corporate finance). It should be noted that the auto maker has declared ‘Suspension of Work’ at its <keyword id="364521" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttarpara">Uttarpara</keyword> plant for over 2000 employees since May 2014. The company has attributed the massive lay off to “low productivity, growing indiscipline, shortage of funds and lack of demand of products’. 
	 “Based on legal opinion obtained, the employees and the workmen, falling under the purview of ‘Suspension of Work’ are not entitled to any salary or wages during that period and accordingly, the Company has not provided for such salary and wages,” the auto maker told <keyword id="35140" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BSE">BSE</keyword>. 
	 
	It further added that since there have been several employee agitations, the company does not have access to documents pertaining to operational and financial matters. “The government of West Bengal has alleged that the company had realized an excess sum of Rs 19,447 lakhs from the sale of 314 acres of land at Hindmotor, West Bengal, in earlier years and it should refund the said amount with interest thereon. The company has been legally advised that there is no liability to make any payments against the alleged demand. 
	 
	The company has also made an exit from its Corporate Debt Restructure (CDR) programe by allotting securities and making a payment of balance of Rs 640 lakh to the lenders.

In a statement, <keyword id="109790" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kia-Motors">Kia Motors</keyword> India - a wholly owned subsidiary of <keyword id="1055815" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kia-Motors-Corporation">Kia Motors Corporation</keyword> of South Korea - said: "This record booking number affirms its status as a game-changer by customers in the highly competitive compact SUV category. This milestone figure was attained within two months of opening of bookings on August 20, 2020." Kia Motors said that last month 9,266 units of the Sonet were dispatched, making it the leader of the compact SUV segment within 12 days of its price announcement and market launch. Curiously, the announcement comes on the day when Japan's Nissan Motor Corporation world premiered its new compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) Magnite and said it would be made in India for Indian and the global market. The Magnite will soon be fighting against Sonet, Hyundai Motor's Venue and others in the Indian market. RITES gain 2% ahead of the board meeting The shares of infrastructure company RITES Ltd were trading 2% higher during the early trading hours on September 18. The board of the company is slated to meet today to consider the buyback proposal of the fully paid-up equity shares of the company. Sterling and Wilson Solar opened 5% higher The shares of Sterling and Wilson Solar opened 5% higher after the company secured a 106.71 MW solar project in Chile worth $62.6 million (about ₹462 crore). “The order has been received from a global independent power producer (IPP), work for which is expected to begin in Q4 FY 2021," the company said in a statement. The shares of MRPL ended 1% lower on Thursday. Zensar Technologies Zensar Technologies reported an 11.7% rise in net profit to ₹89.2 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The board of the company has also given in-principle approval for a merger of its wholly-owned subsidiary Cynosure Interface Services with the company. The merger aims at reducing administrative costs. The shares of Zensar Technologies ended 0.37% lower on Thursday. TVS Motor TVS Motor Company reported a 29.37% decline in consolidated net profit at ₹181.41 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The production and sales improved consistently from July onwards, but the commercial vehicle segment continued to hurt the company. The shares of TVS Motor ended over 1% lower on Thursday. Vodafone Idea Debt-ridden telecom firm Vodafone Idea reported narrowing of its consolidated loss to ₹7,218.2 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The company had posted a loss of ₹50,897.9 crore in the same quarter last year. However, the total income declined by about 3% to ₹10,830.5 crore during the reported quarter. The company’s subscriber base also declined to 27.18 crore in Q2, from 27.98 crore earlier. The shares of Vodafone Idea ended 4% lower on Thursday. Angel Broking Kuwait Investment Authority has acquired half a percent stake in retail broking company Angel Broking via open market transactions on October 29 for ₹321.73 per share. The shares of Angel Broking ended 3% higher on Thursday.
