In a report, <keyword id="46909" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="icici-securities" source="Orion">ICICI Securities</keyword> said the year 2022 has been marked by volatility on account of a wide variety of global new flows ranging from geopolitical issues, higher inflation (mainly food and energy), and hawkish action of central banks. This has led to a decline in global equities, mainly in the US and <keyword id="28249" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="europe" source="Orion">Europe</keyword>. However, India has relatively outperformed global peers in terms of all economic parameters (capex spend, discretionary consumption, robust pick-up in banking activity, etc), the report notes. The same is reflected across Indian equity markets. "Going ahead, we believe Corporate India will likely deliver earnings growth in excess of 15 per cent over the next two years given the current economic milieu and provide a plethora of investing opportunities in Indian markets," ICICI Securities said. However, sticky global inflation will keep central banks hawkish and India will be no exception. Similar implications for global liquidity flows may create medium-term volatility in Indian markets. Avoid sectors having global exposure like IT, oil, gas: ICICI Securities

New Delhi, Brokerage house <keyword id="46909" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICICI-Securities" source="Orion">ICICI Securities</keyword> on Friday reported a one per cent decline in profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 271 crore for three months ended June 2023. In comparison, the company reported a PAT of Rs 273.6 crore in the year-ago period, ICICI Securities said in a regulatory filing. The decline in the profit could be attributed to higher expenses, as the broking firm's total expenses shot up by 33 per cent to Rs 570 crore in the quarter under review. However, the company's total revenues rose by 18 per cent to Rs 934 crore in the first quarter under review, from Rs 795 crore in the April-June quarter of financial year 2022-23. During the quarter under review, the company added 2.1 lakh clients, taking its overall customer base to 93 lakh. Last month, ICICI Bank approved a proposal to delist ICICI Securities and become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the bank after delisting. ICICI Securities, promoted by ICICI Bank, is the country's leading retail-led equity franchise, distributor of financial products and investment bank. The company began its operation in May 1995 and continues to grow its operation through expanding its client base and providing different types of services.

ICICI Securities Q1 2023-24 PAT dips 1%, revenues surge 18%

New Delhi, Nov 28 () ICICI Securities Ltd has settled with markets regulator Sebi a case of alleged violation of stock broker norms by paying over Rs 28 lakh towards settlement charges.
 While disposing of the case, Sebi said "the enforcement proceedings for the alleged default...are settled qua the applicant."
 The matter pertains to an investigation carried out by Sebi pursuant to appearance of news items alleging dematerialisation and selling of shares of dormant accounts using forged documents by certain entities.
 The probe found that physical share certificates of certain scrips were fraudulently acquired in the names of 26 non-existing bogus entities and then dematted in fraudulently opened demat accounts of these entities having different addresses, but similar looking photographs at different points of time.
 Out of these 26 non-existing bogus entities, two entities dealt through ICICI Securities Ltd. It was thus alleged that there was lack of diligence on part of ICICI Securities in dealing with them.
 Pending adjudication proceedings, ICICI Securities filed a settlement application with the regulator "without admitting the findings of fact and conclusions of law."
 Thereafter, Sebi's high-powered advisory committee recommended the case for settlement on payment of Rs 28.68 lakh. This was also approved by Sebi's panel of whole-time members, following which ICICI Securities remitted the amount.
 Accordingly, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) disposed of the adjudication proceedings.
 However, it said that enforcement actions, including commencing or reopening of the proceedings, could be initiated if any representation made by it is found to be untrue. SRS

New Delhi, May 8 () Shares of ICICI Securities on Friday jumped nearly 14 per cent, a day after the company reported a 28 per cent rise in profit after tax for the March quarter.The scrip zoomed 13.80 per cent to Rs 429 on the BSE.On the NSE, it rose 13.77 per cent to Rs 430.ICICI Securities on Thursday reported a 28 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 156 crore for the March quarter on account of growth in revenue and changes in statutory tax rates. In comparison, the company had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 122 crore in the corresponding period of 2018-19, ICICI Securities (I-Sec) said in a statement. The financial services firm's revenue rose 13 per cent to Rs 482 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 428 crore in the year-ago period, supported by growth in retail equities and allied business. On Monday, the company announced that it had disbursed 3.4 million loans in October, registering a yearly growth of 161 per cent. The value of total loans disbursed in October grew to Rs 3,056 Cr (USD 407 million, year-on-year growth of 387 per cent). Paytm's leadership in offline payments strengthened further with its total merchant subscription devices deployed increasing to 5.1 million. With its subscription-as-a-service model, the strong adoption of devices drives higher payment volumes, and subscription revenues, while increasing the funnel for merchant loan distribution. For October, the total merchant gross merchandise value processed through Paytm aggregated to Rs 1.18 lakh crore (USD 14 billion), marking a yearly growth of 42 per cent. Sharma, in his letter further wrote that the payment revolution continues in India, with merchants and users enthusiastically adopting digital payment technology. The government's incentives for <keyword id="6358921" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="upi" source="Orion">UPI</keyword> payments and merchants' adoption of its devices and subscription product, is making payments increasingly "monetizable and profitable" for the company. ICICI Bank's share price is expected to surge as much as 34% in the coming year — despite having more loans under moratorium than other lenders

New Delhi, Nov 28 () In a case of fraudulent trading by bogus entities through several brokerage houses, ICICI Securities has settled charges of alleged violation of stock broker norms without admission or denial of any wrongdoing with markets regulator Sebi.
 ICICI Securities has settled the case by paying over Rs 28 lakh towards settlement charges, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a settlement order.
 Another brokerage house, Angel Broking, has approached the regulator for the settlement of the case.
 "We have made a proposal for settlement with Sebi and it is in a pending consideration. We cannot divulge more than this at this stage but it is proper that we assert that we are a whistle-blower and victim," a spokesperson of Angel Broking told .
 Edelweiss Broking spokesperson said, "Along with other brokers, we have received an enquiry from Sebi to which we have responded. We have asked Sebi for additional documents which we are waiting."
 However, other brokerage houses allegedly involved in the matter did not comment immediately on whether they also have plans for such settlement.
 The other bogus entities dealt through leading brokerage houses including Aditya Birla Money, Edelweiss Broking, Angel Broking, and Arihant Capital and sub-broker P Babulal &amp; Co, according to showcause notices issued by the markets watchdog to these bogus entities in 2017.'
 However, these notices remain unserved and were therefore made public by Sebi in September 2019.
 The matter pertains to an investigation carried out by the markets watchdog after reports which alleged dematerialisation and selling of shares of dormant accounts using forged documents by certain entities.
 The probe found that physical share certificates of scrips of 14 listed companies were fraudulently acquired in the names of 26 non-existing bogus entities and then dematted in fraudulently opened demat accounts of these entities having different addresses, but similar looking photographs at different points of time.
 Out of these 26 non-existing bogus entities, two entities dealt through ICICI Securities.
 The other bogus entities dealt through leading brokerage houses including Angel Broking, Aditya Birla Money, Edelweiss Broking and Arihant Capital and a sub-broker P Babulal &amp; Co.
 According to the notice, more than 3.56 lakh shares of 14 listed companies were acquired in the name of 26 entities through transfer of physical shares and subsequent demat of scrips in the accounts of these entities. The market value of these shares was Rs 4.6 crore.
 Several existing entities, who dealt in the off-market with these 26 non-existing bogus entities, and various stock brokers including Angel Broking were called for recording their statements to the regulator.
 On the basis of deposition of such entities it was revealed that Arvind Babulal Goyal, managing director of Global Securities, was the mastermind in the matter and these 26 non-existing entities and various existing entities were brought only as front entities and their accounts and dealings were being operated by Goyal only, Sebi had said in the notice.
 In fact, the accounts of the off-market existing entities were also opened only on the insistence and assistance of Goyal, the notice had said
 According to Sebi, these bogus entities had defrauded original and genuine shareholders by not only fraudulently using the fake accounts but also by using the systems at the offices of registrar and transfer agents, depository participants and stock brokers.
 Besides, it was alleged that there was lack of diligence on part of brokerage houses in dealing with them.
 Pending adjudication proceedings, ICICI Securities filed a settlement application with the regulator "without admitting the findings of fact and conclusions of law".
 After ICICI filed settlement application, Sebi's high-powered advisory committee recommended the case for settlement on payment of Rs 28.68 lakh. This was also approved by Sebi's panel of whole-time members, following which ICICI Securities remitted the amount.
 Accordingly, the regulator ordered that the "enforcement proceedings for the alleged default ...are settled".
 However, it said that enforcement actions, including commencing or reopening of the proceedings, could be initiated if any representation made by it is found to be untrue. SP HRS

New Delhi, May 8 () Shares of ICICI Securities on Friday erased all its early gains and closed 5 per cent lower due to profit-booking. During the trading session, it jumped nearly 14 per cent after the company reported a 28 per cent rise in profit after tax for the March quarter.The scrip, which zoomed 13.80 per cent to Rs 429 during the day on the BSE, later eroded its gains and closed at Rs 357.80, down 5.08 per cent.On the NSE, shares of the company fell 4.85 per cent to close at Rs 359.60. Intra-day, it rose 13.77 per cent to Rs 430.ICICI Securities on Thursday reported a 28 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 156 crore for the March quarter on account of growth in revenue and changes in statutory tax rates. In comparison, the company had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 122 crore in the corresponding period of 2018-19, ICICI Securities (I-Sec) said in a statement. The financial services firm's revenue rose 13 per cent to Rs 482 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 428 crore in the year-ago period, supported by growth in retail equities and allied business. "With the worst on asset quality behind it, the coming years will see an uptick in its growth and margin profile, lower credit costs, and better return ratios," Motilal Oswal said, adding that the asset management business is likely to churn out better profitability, driven by an improvement in revenue as well as cost rationalization. Seven brokerage and investment firms give 'buy' call for Aditya Birla Capital since it reported healthy earnings in fiscal year

New Delhi, Jan 20 () ICICI Securities, the investment services arm of ICICI Group, on Monday reported a 36 per cent rise in consolidated profit to Rs 137 crore for the third quarter of 2019-20. 
 In comparison, the company's profit stood at Rs 101.1 crore in the October-December quarter of 2018-19, ICICI Securities said in a regulatory filing.
 The company's total income also rose to Rs 422.12 crore, compared with Rs 404.7 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal. 
 Rise in profit was on account of growth in revenue, reduction in expenses, and changes in statutory tax rates, it said. 
During the quarter, ICICI Securities' revenues from retail equities and allied business climbed 5 per cent to Rs 228 crore from Rs 216 crore in the year-ago period.
 I-Sec, which is a retail led equity franchise, distributor of financial products, and investment banker, has 4.7 million operational accounts, of which about 94,000 were added during the quarter.

 The company's revenue from investment banking plunged by 31 per cent to Rs 18 crore in the quarter under review primarily due to lower number of high value deals.
