Pune, <keyword id="19897354" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bajaj-auto" source="keywords">Bajaj Auto</keyword> is developing a portfolio of clean fuel CNG motorcycles, and the first such bike will hit the market in June, Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said here on Friday. The bike will run on CNG and would hit the roads in June, he said while announcing <keyword id="20201280" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bajaj-group" source="keywords">Bajaj Group</keyword>'s commitment of Rs 5,000 crore towards <keyword id="19916939" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="corporate-social-responsibility" source="keywords">Corporate Social Responsibility</keyword> (CSR) spent over the next 5 years. The new bike would target mileage-conscious consumers and is expected to launch under a different brand. It is expected that CNG bikes will be priced higher than their petrol counterparts due to the higher cost of manufacturing besides having a special tank to offer petrol and CNG fuel options to offer convenience to customers. Bjaja also said that <keyword id="20050188" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pulsar" source="keywords">Pulsar</keyword> launched 20 years ago will hit 2 million units soon. Meanwhile, the Bajaj Group committed Rs 5,000 crore to social impact initiatives over 5 years, with a focus on skill development, under 'Bajaj Beyond'' the Group's new identity for all its CSR and charitable programmes. This will benefit over 2 crore of tomorrow's youth and enable them to take advantage of the employment and entrepreneurial opportunities offered by India's growing economy. "Social responsibility is deeply entwined in the <keyword id="21052740" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bajaj-family" source="keywords">Bajaj Family</keyword>'s businesses and its philanthropic endeavours through generations. In the last 10 years alone, the Bajaj Group has contributed close to Rs 4,000 crore towards CSR initiatives largely focused on skilling and education, health, livelihood, water conservation, and several other areas of development," Bajaj Auto Chairman Niraj Bajaj said. The Bajaj Group's humanitarian efforts are channeled through several institutions. Our Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) prepares youth for employment in the fast-expanding financial services sector which is currently seeing a shortage of talent." With Bajaj Beyond, Bjajaj Finserv commits to strengthening India's skilling ecosystem, especially in the hinterland, enabling greater access to economic prosperity, he added.

In the early 1900s <keyword id="375669" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shishir-Bajaj">Shishir Bajaj</keyword>'s grandfather, <keyword id="1322509" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jamnalal-Bajaj">Jamnalal Bajaj</keyword>, was involved in the Freedom Movement in India alongside Mahatma Gandhi, even spending time in jail as a freedom fighter in his battle against the British. Driven by strong ethics and a will for Indians to govern themselves, he added <keyword id="6495681" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Philanthropy">philanthropy</keyword> to his arsenal of weapons, along with his strong political ideologies. 
 
As a philanthropist, Jamnalal Bajaj opened the first temple to the downtrodden, now 100 years old. While he never saw his cherished dream of an independent India, dying five years before Independence Day celebrations in 1947, his principles and convictions have been passed down through generations. 
 His legacy is presently in the care of Shishir Bajaj, chairman and managing director of <keyword id="3233878" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-Hindusthan-Sugar-Company">Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Company</keyword>, the largest in Asia and fifth largest in the world. The principles that his grandfather learned under Gandhi have been applied to this large industrial business, one that almost qualifies as a regional government in scale and impact. 
 
Jamnalal Bajaj saw at an early stage that there was a need for new companies to feed the economic challenges of building a new nation. He formed the sugar company in 1931. 
 
"Because my grandfather was too busy with the freedom movement, he set up the business and let my father run it," says Shishir Bajaj, a member of <a href="http://www.ypo.org/">Young Presidents’ Organization</a> since 1987. And in a move that predates Bill Gates and Warren Buffett's Giving Pledge campaign by 80 years, Jamnalal Bajaj formed a trust for the wealth because he didn't want to own more than he needed. Two foundations, the Kamalnayan Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation and Jamnalal Kaniram Bajaj Trust now support more than 100,000 families in 701 villages, positively affecting the lives of more than 615,000 individuals within the Wardha and Sikar districts. 
 
In keeping with the family tradition of social change, Shishir Bajaj's son Kushagra Bajaj suggested the formation of an action plan five years ago that scaled the company's social good onto a much larger platform. 
 
"The number of villages we'd like to cover in the next five years is 1,000," says Shishir Bajaj. "There are about 700 districts in India, and if we can capture just two, I think it will be a seriously good achievement." 
 
As the most populous country on earth with slightly more than 1.2 billion people, two districts is not the small number some would imagine. 
 
Some of the projects Shishir Bajaj is involved in include sustainable agricultural practices and women's self-help groups. A water resource project has seen 82 rivers deepened, 74 miles of riverbed rejuvenated and schools built at seven of the 10 sugar factories. 
 
As Gandhi has said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world.
