New Delhi, Nov 26 () The market valuation of Reliance Industries, the country's most valued firm, came very close to the Rs 10 lakh crore mark in intra-day trade on Tuesday.
The oil-to-telecom conglomerate's market capitalisation (m-cap) zoomed to Rs 9,99,045 crore (USD 139 billion) during the trade on the BSE. However, at close of trade it came down to Rs 9,88,179.79 crore (nearly USD 138 billion).
The company is still ahead of British energy major BP Plc in terms of market valuation.
BP Plc's m-cap was at USD 131 billion in pre-market trade at NYSE. 
The company's stock rose 0.98 per cent to a record peak of Rs 1,576 in intra-day on the BSE. Later, it however, closed marginally lower by 0.12 per cent at Rs 1,558.85.
So far this year, RIL's share price has jumped 38.46 per cent.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) last week achieved another milestone, becoming the first Indian firm to hit m-cap of Rs 9.5 lakh crore.
Also, last week the company surpassed BP Plc in terms of market valuation.
In October, RIL hit the Rs 9 lakh crore m-cap mark in intra-day trade, first by any listed company.
In August 2018, it became the first Indian firm to cross the Rs 8 lakh crore m-cap mark.
TCS is the country's second most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,68,075.63 crore followed by HDFC Bank with a m-cap of Rs 6,97,707.03 crore, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 4,46,211.06 crore) and HDFC (Rs 3,97,958.39 crore).

RIL m-cap comes very close to Rs 10 lakh cr in intra-day trade

New Delhi, Nov 28 () Reliance Industries on Thursday became the first Indian company to hit the Rs 10 lakh crore market valuation level in intra-day following a spike in its share price.
 The oil-to-telecom conglomerate's market capitalisation (m-cap) zoomed to Rs 10.02 lakh crore during morning trade on the BSE.
 The company's stock rose 0.73 per cent to a record peak of Rs 1,581.25 in intra-day trade on the stock exchange.
 Later, it retreated from the milestone and the firm's market capitalisation (m-cap) was around Rs 9,99,368.41 crore at 1050 hours.
 Over the past few session, the company's market valuation has been hovering near the Rs 10 lakh crore mark.
 In October this year, Reliance Industries (RIL) hit the Rs 9 lakh crore m-cap level.
 In August 2018, it became the first Indian company to have crossed the Rs 8 lakh crore m-cap mark.
 So far this year, the company's scrip has zoomed 41 per cent, much higher than the 13.8 per cent rise in Sensex so far in 2019.
 TCS is the country's second most valued firm with a market valuation of Rs 7,79,708.02 crore, followed by HDFC Bank with a market cap of Rs 6,96,494.75 crore, Hindustan Unilever (Rs 4,49,252.62 crore) and HDFC (Rs 3,99,599.38 crore).

RIL creates history, becomes first Indian firm to hit Rs 10 lakh cr m-cap mark

India just became the ninth largest equity market in the world as the stock <keyword id="118864" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Market-capitalisation">market capitalisation</keyword> (M-cap) crossed $2 trillion. This was due to the relentless buying by local and offshore investors. As per the Bloomberg data, the increase in stock prices has pushed up India's M-cap-to-GDP ratio, a tool used by equity strategists to assess the relative valuation of a market, well above the 10-year average. "India has the largest number of listed companies in the world. Interestingly, nearly 50 per cent of the actively traded companies have M-cap of less than Rs 500 crore. This suggests that Indian companies go public much earlier than in most other large economies. The relatively high Mcap-to-GDP ratio in India, therefore, is reflective of strong appetite of Indian entrepreneurs to access public equity funding and the willingness of Indian equity investors to fund such entrepreneurs,” Sujan Hajra, chief economist at brokerage Anand Rathi, told ET. For India, the ratio had peaked at 1.48 in 2007. "India can see further expansion in the M-cap-to-GDP ratio as private and government capex kicks in. The possibility of rating upgrade by the year-end could push up the ratio further. It can reach 1.1 to 1.2,” A. Balasubramanian, CEO, Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, told ET. India's contribution to global M-cap has risen to a six-year high of 2.7 per cent against a six-year average of 2.2 per cent .

India’s stock market capitalisation crosses $2 trillion; further expansion expected

New Delhi, Feb 5 () IT major Wipro on Wednesday moved out of the list of top-20 most valued companies by market capitalisation giving way to Avenue Supermarts, which runs the D-Mart supermarkets chain. At close of trade, the market capitalisation (m-cap) of Avenue Supermarts was at Rs 1,41,205.36 crore, which is Rs 2,777.03 crore more than that of Wipro's Rs 1,38,428.33 crore valuation on the BSE. Avenue Supermarts is now placed at the 20th rank in the list of top 100 companies by market cap, while Wipro has taken the 21st position. Shares of Avenue Supermarts jumped 4.35 per cent, while those of Wipro gained 0.85 per cent on the BSE. Avenue Supermarts had got listed on the bourses on March 21, 2017. Since its listing, shares of the company have zoomed 251 per cent. Reliance Industries Limited is the country's most valued firm with a m-cap of Rs 9,17,953.13 crore followed by TCS Rs 8,04,980.33 crore. Wipro moves out of top-20 most valued cos list by m-cap, Avenue Supermarts grabs 20th ranking

New Delhi, Dec 15 () Six of the 10 most valued Indian companies together added Rs 65,060.30 crore in market valuation last week, with RIL and HDFC emerging as the biggest gainers.
 HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and SBI were the other winners in the top-10 list, while TCS, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), Infosys and ITC suffered losses in their market capitalisation (m-cap) for the week ended Friday.
 The market cap of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the country's most valued firm, jumped Rs 17,439.74 crore to Rs 10,03,147.26 crore.
 HDFC's valuation zoomed Rs 15,435.51 crore to Rs 4,06,705.23 crore and that of SBI climbed Rs 11,512.75 crore to reach Rs 2,96,921.83 crore.
 The m-cap of HDFC Bank zoomed Rs 9,089.48 crore to Rs 6,91,457.21 crore and that of ICICI Bank advanced Rs 8,210.91 crore to Rs 3,47,551.97 crore.
 Kotak Mahindra Bank's valuation rose by Rs 3,371.91 crore to Rs 3,23,236.17 crore.
 In contrast, the valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) dropped Rs 19,231 crore to Rs 7,77,381.54 crore.
 The m-cap of HUL plunged Rs 4,372.92 crore to Rs 4,34,109.76 crore and that of ITC fell Rs 2,027.73 crore to Rs 2,96,971.03 crore.
 Infosys also witnessed a decline of Rs 1,660.8 crore in its m-cap to stand at Rs 3,02,882.73 crore.
 In the list of top-10 firms, RIL retained its number one spot, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys, ITC and SBI.

Six of top-10 firms add Rs 65,060 cr in m-cap; RIL, HDFC lead

New Delhi, Mar 15 () The 10 most valued domestic companies lost a massive Rs 4,22,393.44 crore in market capitalisation last week, with heavyweights TCS and RIL taking the biggest hit. In a nerve-wracking week for the markets, the BSE Sensex plummeted 3,473.14 points or 9.24 per cent, largely in tandem with global equities which were hammered by panic selling amid the coronavirus pandemic. The market capitalisation (m-cap) of TCS dropped by Rs 1,16,549.07 crore to reach Rs 6,78,168.49 crore for the week ended Friday. Reliance Industries' m-cap plummeted Rs 1,03,425.15 crore to Rs 7,01,693.52 crore. Infosys was another major drag, with its valuation plunging Rs 41,315.98 crore to Rs 2,73,505.62 crore. HDFC Bank's m-cap tanked Rs 34,919.51 crore to reach Rs 5,87,190.43 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) tumbled Rs 33,208.35 crore to Rs 4,40,151.42 crore. New Delhi, Mar 1 () The ten most valued domestic firms together lost a massive Rs 3.35 lakh crore from their market capitalisation last week, as the equity markets witnessed massive sell-off amid fears of coronavirus outbreak turning into a pandemic. Reliance Industries was the biggest hit, as its market capitalisation (m-cap) declined by Rs 99,430.93 crore to Rs 8,42,262.64 crore. On February 28, the Sensex logged its second-biggest one-day fall in history as concerns over the rapidly-spreading coronavirus triggered a manic global sell-off. During the week ended February 28, Sensex registered a plunge of 2,872.83 points or 6.97 per cent, while the Nifty tumbled 879.10 or 7.27 per cent. Market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services plummeted by Rs 58,293.29 crore to Rs 7,50,833.42 crore and m-cap of HDFC slid by Rs 33,222.99 crore to 3,76,839.9 crore. Following the downtrend spiral in the broader market, the top ten firms witnessed significant erosion in their market capitalisation, traders said. Among other blue-chip firms, m-cap of Hindustan Unilever plunged Rs 15,792.31 crore to Rs 4,70,824.97 crore and that of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 21,369.47 crore to Rs 6,45,544.93 crore. The valuation of Infosys dropped Rs 27,830.35 crore to Rs 3,11,457.26 crore while Kotak Mahindra Bank lost Rs 12,821.78 crore from its valuation to reach Rs 3,09,721.16 crore. Market valuation of ICICI Bank dived by Rs 32,736.06 crore to Rs 3,21,030.9 crore and SBI lost Rs 22,088.41 crore from its m-cap to reach Rs 2,70,326.48 crore. Besides, Bharti Airtel stood at Rs 2,85,898.48 crore by losing Rs 11,702.17 crore. The carnage in the equity markets wiped out investor wealth worth Rs 5,45,452.52 crore, with the total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies standing at Rs 1,46,94,571.56 crore as on February 28. New Delhi, Mar 31 () Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Tuesday surpassed TCS to grab the title of most valued firm by market capitalisation. At close of trade, the market capitalisation (m-cap) of RIL was Rs 7,05,211.81 crore, which was Rs 21,133.32 crore more than that of Tata Consultancy Services' Rs 6,84,078.49 crore valuation on the BSE. Shares of RIL zoomed 7.76 per cent to close at Rs 1,112.45 on Tuesday, while TCS rose 2.64 per cent to Rs 1,823.05. On March 27, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had reclaimed its status as the country's most valued firm by market valuation. RIL once again overtakes TCS to become the most valued firm

New Delhi, Mar 18 () Tata Consultancy Services on Wednesday went past Reliance Industries Limited yet again to become the most valued Indian firm by market valuation. At close of trade on the BSE, the market capitalisation (m-cap) of TCS was at Rs 6,19,499.95 crore, which is Rs 5,320.02 crore more than that of RIL's Rs 6,14,179.93 crore valuation. RIL shares witnessed selling pressure, falling 3.97 per cent to close the day at Rs 968.85. During the day, it tumbled 4.72 per cent to Rs 961.20. However, decline in shares of TCS was not that sharp as it fell 0.44 per cent to Rs 1,650.95 at close. On March 9 also, Tata Consultancy Services had raced past RIL to become most valued domestic firm by m-cap. A heavy sell-off in the equity market since past few days has pulled down RIL's market valuation sharply. RIL shares fell for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, dropping 12.47 per cent and wiping out Rs 87,506.07 crore from its market valuation in three days. Last week also, Reliance shares came under massive selling pressure amid plunge in international oil prices. New Delhi, Nov 17 () Six of the 10 most valuable domestic companies together added a staggering Rs 2.4 lakh crore in market capitalisation last week, with TCS grabbing the lion's share.
 The other winners included Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI, while HUL, Infosys, ITC and HDFC suffered losses in their market capitalisation (m-cap) for the week ended Friday.
 The market cap of TCS zoomed Rs 1,93,666.73 crore to reach Rs 8,16,068.63 crore.
 RIL's valuation jumped Rs 15,182.29 crore to Rs 9,31,412.63 crore.
 The m-cap of HDFC Bank climbed Rs 12,917.96 crore to Rs 6,99,704.93 crore and that of Kotak Mahindra Bank rallied Rs 4,355.08 crore to Rs 3,10,012.67 crore.
 ICICI Bank's valuation rose by Rs 6,430.30 crore to Rs 3,22,725.86 crore and that of SBI increased Rs 5,488.63 crore to stand at Rs 2,87,372.49 crore.
 In contrast, the market cap of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) dropped by Rs 6,277.96 crore to Rs 4,45,355.96 crore.
 Infosys' valuation declined by Rs 1,932.77 crore to Rs 3,02,349.51 crore and that of ITC fell by Rs 12,041.92 crore to Rs 3,07,990.46 crore.
 The m-cap of HDFC went down by Rs 929.60 crore to Rs 3,84,199.95 crore.
 In the ranking of top-10 firms, RIL led the chart, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC, Infosys and State Bank of India (SBI).
