Apple's future product lineup is starting to come into focus

The <keyword id="20143656" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="turnover" source="keywords">turnover</keyword> of India's automotive component industry registered a <keyword id="19910261" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="growth" source="keywords">growth</keyword> of 9.8 per cent in the financial year 2023-24, according to the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (<keyword id="20475655" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ACMA" source="keywords">ACMA</keyword>). The turnover stood at Rs 6.14 lakh crore (USD 74.1 billion) during the year, said the ACMA, the body representing India's auto component manufacturing industry, in its review for the fiscal year 2023-24, as per a release. <keyword id="20373789" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shradha-suri-marwah" source="keywords">Shradha Suri Marwah</keyword>, President, ACMA, and CMD, Subros, said that apart from an increase in <keyword id="21825714" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vehicle-production" source="keywords">vehicle production</keyword>, higher value addition from the component sector has led to growth in the auto components sector. "On the front of trade, whilst overall merchandise <keyword id="19916774" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="exports" source="keywords">exports</keyword> from India witnessed degrowth in FY24, auto component exports have grown despite geopolitical challenges and an increase in logistics costs," Marwah said. Elaborating on the mood of the industry and outlook for the near future, Marwah mentioned, steady growth in the vehicle industry has resulted in the industry reaching pre-pandemic levels of performance in 2023-24 in most segments, however, the first quarter of FY25 witnessed somewhat slower offtake in <keyword id="20051501" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vehicle-sales" source="keywords">vehicle sales</keyword>, especially in passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, given the high base, due to inclement weather conditions and elections. "With strong macro-economic indicators, conducive government policies, and over 7 per cent growth projected for the Indian GDP, we are hopeful that the auto components industry will continue to perform well in 2024-25," Marwah added in the release. Following are some of the key findings of the ACMA Annual Industry Performance Review: Auto component sales to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the domestic market were at Rs 5.18 lakh crore (USD 62.4 billion), growing 8.9 per cent compared to the previous year. Consumption of increased value-added components, a thrust on localisation, and a shift in market preference towards larger and more powerful vehicles contributed to the increased turnover of the auto-components sector. Exports of auto components witnessed growth of 5.5 per cent to Rs USD 21.2 billion in 2023-24 in contrast to USD 20.1 billion in 2022-23. North America accounted for 32 per cent of exports. Europe accounted for another 33 per cent and Asia for 24 per cent, respectively. Exports to Europe grew by 12 per cent while to Asia remained flat. The key export items included drive transmission and steering, engine components, body and chassis, suspension and braking systems. Component imports grew by 3.0 per cent in 2023-24 to USD 20.9 billion from USD 20.3 billion in 2022-23. Further, increased vehicle movement and a surge in demand for used vehicles led to buoyancy in the aftermarket across all segments. The turnover of the aftermarket in 2023-24 stood at Rs 93,886 crore (USD 11.3 billion) compared to Rs 85,333 crore (USD 10.6 billion) in the previous year. The aftermarket, with an increase in e-commerce, is witnessing enhanced penetration, especially in the hinterland, and a gradual evolution into the organised sector. (ANI)

It measures 35.4 x 24. x 1.64 cm and weighs just 1.85 kg, which is quite good for a gaming laptop with a 16-inch display. <div type="image" title="ROG" msid="115055251" hostid="261" sizebytes="35894" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;ROG logo&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is available in two colour options – Grey and Platinum White. I tested the Platinum White colour variant, which comes with a white finish. The laptop comes with a unibody aluminium chassis, that feels extremely durable. It features a new clamshell design aimed at preventing the hot air from blowing towards the display. <div type="image" title="Back design" msid="115055177" hostid="261" sizebytes="46658" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> At the back, the laptop comes with a large diagonal LED strip, which the company has dubbed Slash Lighting. This replaces the dot-matrix display found on some of the earlier laptops from the company. The lighting feels more subtle and is aimed at giving a more minimalistic look to the device. You also have the option of completely turning off the lights if you want. <div type="image" title="Keyboard" msid="115055289" hostid="261" sizebytes="54458" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 keyboard&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It comes with a membrane-switch keyboard that is good to use and responds well. As someone who has to use the keyboard a lot, I found it easy to use the keyboard. The trackpad is decent as well, allowing you to easily navigate. When it comes to gaming, I prefer a mouse, as it is easier to use. <div type="image" title="Keys" msid="115055306" hostid="261" sizebytes="62226" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 keys&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The keyboard is backlit and the only thing apart from the Slash Lighting that comes with LED lighting. Like most gaming laptops, the Zephyrus G16 misses out on numpad. <div type="image" title="Left" msid="115055317" hostid="261" sizebytes="22502" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Ports on the left&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The large size allows the laptop to offer ample ports. On the left, it comes with the power port, HDMI 2.1 port, a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port and a 3.5mm audio jack. <div type="image" title="Right" msid="115055373" hostid="261" sizebytes="23578" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Ports on the right&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> On the right side, the laptop features a USB Type-A port, a USB Type-C port and an SD card reader. <h2>Display</h2>The display is another area where the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 shines. It comes with a 16-inch 2.5K OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2 ms response time and 500 nits of brightness, which is excellent for playing indoors and outdoors. <div type="image" title="D" msid="115055432" hostid="261" sizebytes="35080" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The colours look great as it comes with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The high-resolution display and the high refresh rate make it a treat to game on the device. I played games like Starfield, Red Dead Redemption 2 and more on the laptop, with the device offering excellent visuals in each game. <h2>Performance</h2>The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is powered with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, a new chipset aimed at offering AI-centric features. It is part of the company’s Ryzen AI Strix Point hardware and has been paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor features 12 Cores and 24 Threads. This includes four performance Zen5 cores and eight efficiency Zen5c Cores. It runs at up to 80W TDP. The laptop comes with 32GB DDR5X 7500MHz RAM. For storage, it offers a 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD. While the RAM is soldered on and cannot be expanded, Asus has provided an extra M.2 2280 slot. As mentioned earlier, I tested the laptop with heavy games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield and Forza Horizon 5. The laptop was able to easily handle the games at maximum settings. The laptop can handle AAA games with ease at Ultra settings. The high refresh rate also allowed me to enjoy games such as Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant. Coming to its AI features, the new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chipset features the XDNA 2 NPU, which is designed for AI. The NPU can process up to 80 TOPS. The device comes with Ryzen AI, a suite of AI-powered apps from AMD. It includes the image generation tool Amuse AI, the LM Studio assistant, and more. While there’s still some way to go for AI-powered apps, the Ryzen AI is an excellent addition to the powerful laptop as it helps in boosting productivity. The device can also make use of AI capabilities baked into Windows and Microsoft Office 365. The laptop is equipped with a 90Whr battery and like most gaming laptops, battery life is not the device’s strongest point. During gaming, it offers around two hours of battery life at full performance. With normal usage, you can get around five to six hours of battery life out of the device. <h2>Verdict</h2>The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 ticks off all the right boxes, including a premium design, powerful hardware, excellent display and more. The company has also added a ton of AI features that make use of the powerful NPU offered with the processor. Overall, this is an excellent option for those looking for a powerful gaming laptop that can also be used for work. One of the cons of the laptop is its battery life. If you want to use the laptop for several hours on the go, the Zephyrus G16 may not be the right option. However, if you don’t mind plugging in the laptop while using it, you should have no issues. Another thing that you need to consider is the price. The G16 is priced is on the higher side, charging a premium for the sleek design and the powerful hardware. There was no stuttering or lag, despite many applications and tabs open at once. The laptop’s cooling system also works well and I did not notice any abnormal heating. The HP EliteBook G1q comes with the Windows CoPilot+, alongside HP’s AI Companion app. The app can be used to streamline daily tasks, helping boost productivity. The app offers AI-powered features such as auto-framing and panning, keeping you in centre during calls. It also offers various enhancement options using AI, including the ability to reduce echoes. The laptop is equipped with a 59 Whr battery and offers a decent battery life, allowing you to get around 8 hours of usage. It supports 65W charging, allowing you to quickly charge the device. <h2>Verdict</h2>The HP EliteBook G1q is a feature-packed device designed for professionals looking for a sleek and powerful laptop. The device ticks all the right boxes, including a good design, powerful hardware and a lightweight form factor. At the end of the day, price does come into play and the EliteBook G1q is priced on the higher side. It also offers an M-Book mode to sync the colour settings between your device and the monitor. BenQ has also offered the Hotkey Puck G2 with the monitor. This can be connected to the monitor and allows you to control the on-screen menu. This helps in boosting productivity as it allows you to easily switch between various modes and tools. The monitor also comes with dual 2.5W speakers. These are enough to watch a quick video, listen to music or just for notifications. While these are good to have, they are not a replacement for a pair of headphones. I have always preferred a monitor that has a speaker so that I don’t have to grab my headphones every time I want to listen to something. <h2>Verdict</h2>The BenQ PD3225U is an excellent option, especially for MacBook users looking for a reliable monitor. If logs are not recorded properly, then any records of potential problems are lost and the company and its customers may have missed intrusions.Between September 2 and September 19, "a bug in one of Microsoft's internal monitoring agents resulted in a malfunction in some of the agents when uploading log data to our internal logging platform," Microsoft wrote in the customer notification.There's no evidence of cyberattacks stemming from this incident."This issue did not impact the uptime of any customer-facing services or resources -- it only affected the collection of log events. Additionally, this issue is not related to any security compromise," the notification explained.Affected products included Microsoft Entra, an identity-management service. The FTC says the tool offers a feature that generates fake testimonials and reviews.The FTC said in court documents that Rytr's service can quickly generate an unlimited number of "genuine-sounding reviews" with minimal input from the user. The complaint says the tool's "likely only use" is to post fake reviews that deceive consumers and "pollute the marketplace with a glut of fake reviews."In August, the FTC announced it would seek more civil penalties against companies that use fake reviews to boost products or website traffic and strengthen regulations around similar practices."Consumers rely on reviews for fair and accurate information about products and services, and fake reviews can give consumers a false impression of a product or service's quality," the complaint says.As annoying as fake reviews can be, not everyone is on board with the FTC crackdown.Neil Chilson, the head of AI policy at Abundance Institute, a tech nonprofit, and a former acting chief technologist at the FTC, told Bloomberg that the action against Rytr is an "extremely aggressive" use of authority for the agency."It worries me about the effect it would have," Chilson told the outlet. Thanks to its 5GB hard disk, a scroll wheel, and a display, listening to music had never been so hip. iPod paved the way for multiple generations and iterations most famously - the iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, and the iPod touch. Discontinued in 2022, the iPod’s legacy still lives on. If we talk numbers by the end of its production run, Apple sold over 450 million iPods. A device aimed at both business professionals and casual users, iPhones changed the way the world communicated on cell phones. A fully functional touch-sensitive device that looked and worked like nothing in the market so far. The iPhone needs no introduction, considering there are 1.46 billion iPhone users in the world now. No wonder any small leak, update or announcement around the product makes big news. Steve Jobs cemented his legacy with the products that define consumer electronics and personal computing. And it all boils down to his wisdom and focus on the product. I wrote this article after coming across an email that Steve Jobs had shared with the team on May 26, 2010. The day when Apple's market cap surpassed Microsoft. In the email, shared below, Jobs referenced Walt Disney and said “We are only as good as our amazing next product” Let’s see what Apple’s next iPhone offers to us. I sure hope it's amazing.
