If you’re not one of those, and want to err on the side of caution, you can choose funds that demonstrated a good run for over 20 years. According to a report by <keyword id="112363" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="value-research" source="Orion">Value Research</keyword>, ten mutual fund schemes have stood the test of time. Funds like Sundaram Midcap Fund, Nippon India Growth Fund, Quant Active Fund and more have given over 16% returns per annum for the last twenty years. “Some investment funds have weathered significant challenges including the 2008 subprime crisis, the 2013 taper tantrum, and the 2020 Covid induced lockdown,” said the Value Research report. It adds that while even very successful funds failed during the times, but a few of these ‘golden oldies’ survived the crises to give positive returns to their investors. The key to identifying such funds, Value Research says, is to track their long-term performance over 5-20 years. An investor who had done a systematic investment plan (SIP) for ₹10,000 for 20 years in any of these funds, would now be sitting on over ₹1.5 crore. If the investors would have increased their SIP amounts by 10% per annum, they would be sitting over ₹2.7 crore. Online auto classified platform <keyword id="1980082" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cartrade">CarTrade</keyword> Tech on Friday said it has raised Rs 900 crore from anchor investors ahead of its initial public offering, which opens on Monday. The company has decided to allocate 55,59,664 equity shares to anchor investors at Rs 1,618 apiece, valuing the transaction size to Rs 899.55 crore, according to a circular uploaded on the BSE website. Nomura, HSBC Global, Goldman Sachs, Jupiter India Fund, Elara India Opportunities Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, Bharti Axa Life Insurance Company, Axis Mutual Fund (MF), HDFC MF, Kotak MF and Sundaram MF are among the anchor investors. The initial share-sale will be entirely an offer for sale (<keyword id="883402" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="OFS">OFS</keyword>) of 18,532,216 equity shares. Among the investors participating in the OFS are -- CMDB II (22.64 lakh equity shares), Highdell Investment Ltd (84.09 lakh shares), Macritchie Investments Pte Ltd (50.76 lakh shares), and <keyword id="11723135" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="springfield-venture-international">Springfield Venture International</keyword> (17.65 lakh shares). Currently, CMDB II holds 11.93 per cent stake in CarTrade, Highdell Investment owns 34.44 per cent stake, MacRitche Investment has 26.48 per cent shareholding, and Springfield Venture International holds 7.09 per cent stake in the company. The public issue, with a price band of Rs 1,585-1,618 a share, will open for subscription on August 9 and conclude on August 11. At the upper end of the price band, the <keyword id="6354763" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ipo">IPO</keyword> is expected to mobilise Rs 2,998.51 crore. Half of the issue size has been reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), 35 per cent for retail investors and the remaining 15 per cent for non-institutional investors. Founded in 2009, CarTrade is backed by marquee investors -- <keyword id="6402698" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="warburg-pincus">Warburg Pincus</keyword>, Temasek, JPMorgan and March Capital. The CarTrade platform allows customers to buy and sell used cars as well as new cars. CarTrade raises ₹900 crore from anchor investors ahead of its IPO, issue opens on Monday

<ul><li>The fact that the country’s central bank is expected to continue with interest rate hikes in the near term, the product remains attractive.</li><li>So far in two months up till now, RBI has increased the repo rate by 90 basis points to fight record inflation.</li><li>With this, RBI's policy repo rate currently stands at 4.90%.</li></ul>Private sector bank Yes Bank recently launched a <keyword id="148844" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="floating-rate" source="Orion">floating rate</keyword> <keyword id="74427" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="fixed-deposit" source="Orion">fixed deposit</keyword> (<keyword id="1005" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="FD" source="Orion">FD</keyword>) product offering for its domestic customers. The product’s interest rate is now being linked with the prevailing repo rate. What is a floating rate fixed deposit (FD)? This is a unique offering designed to benefit customers by enabling them with an asset class that offers the safety of a fixed deposit along with dynamic returns which are linked to the repo rates published by the central bank. This floating rate FD can be availed for a tenure of 1 year to less than 3 years, as per the customer’s preference. “The floating rate product is very attractive in a rising interest rate environment. People may get attracted towards this keeping in mind that they are anticipating rate hikes for one or one and a half years,” Dwijendra Srivastava, CIO – Debt at Sundaram Mutual Fund. The fact that the country’s central bank is expected to continue with interest rate hikes in the near term to fight the record high inflation, this product stands attractive as the return rate will only go up for some time. “For the next one year, interest rates will only go up. However, two or three years down the line interest rates will fall and that’s when people will miss out because in floating rates products the rates will be adjusted accordingly,” said debt market expert Joydeep Sen. The bank will reset the floating FD rate on a monthly basis i.e. on the first day of every month subject to change in repo rate. So far in two months up till now, RBI has increased the repo rate by 90 basis points. In May, RBI hiked the repo rate by 40 basis points and further increased it by 50 basis points. With this, RBI's policy repo rate currently stands at 4.90%. “The rising interest rates environment is expected to be there for at least a year till March 2023,” said Srivastava. The deposit amount can be as minimum as ₹10,000 but less than ₹5 crore. Experts believe this is kind of an innovative product at this point of time and will open up more banks to launch it, particularly the smaller and weaker ones, who will be more competitive. A floating rate fixed deposit can be a good investment, for the next one year

New Delhi, Feb 5 () Makino Holdings, promoter of Westlife Development Ltd, on Wednesday divested its stake worth over Rs 199 crore in the firm through an open market transaction. According to bulk deal data on the BSE, Makino Holdings sold 46,82,533 shares, representing 3 per cent of the total shares of the firm, at an average price of Rs 425.07. This took the total deal value to Rs 199.04 crore. Through separate transactions, Kuwait Investment Authority Fund and Sundaram Mutual Fund bought a total of 22,63,900 shares for a total amount of over Rs 96.2 crore, the bulk deal data showed. According to the shareholding data for the December 2019 quarter, Makino Holdings held 7.63 per cent shares in the firm, while Sundaram Mutual Fund is a public shareholder and held 1.03 per cent stake in Westlife. Why did it fail to garner investors' interest? The investor pessimism already reflected in the grey market premium ahead of the listing, it was trading much lower than its IPO peers. Most of the brokerage reports highlighted various vital factors that may impact its business in the near future. As of June, 30 Angel Broking garnered 72.2% of the total income from broking business, and according to HDFC Securities, "any reduction in its brokerage fee could have a material adverse effect on the business." With SEBI tightening rules here and there, brokerages remain cautious about Angel Broking's business. Weak debut for Angel Broking — shares list at 10% discount from the IPO price

New Delhi, Dec 4 () Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's initial public offering attracted heavy investor demand on the final day of bidding on Wednesday as the issue was subscribed a whopping 165.64 times.
 The Rs 750-crore initial public offering (IPO) received bids for 2,053 crore shares against the total issue size of 12.39 crore shares, as per the data available with the NSE.
 The category reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) was subscribed 113.80 times, that for non institutional investors was subscribed 486.14 times, while retail individual investors category was subscribed 50.16 times, according to merchant banking sources.
 With a strong subscription, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank went past IRCTC to become the most subscribed IPO so far this year.
 The IPO of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was subscribed 111.91 times in October.
 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's IPO was subscribed 4.86 times on the second day of subscription on Tuesday.
 The price range for the offer was fixed at Rs 36-37 per share.
 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank mopped up Rs 303.75 crore from anchor investors, according to a statement by the company.
 The Government of Singapore, Monetary Authority of Singapore, CX Partners Fund, Aberdeen, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, Sundaram Mutual Fund, Goldman Sachs India, ICICI Prudential participated in anchor investor bidding.
 Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, JM Financial and IIFL Securities are managing the offer.

As of June, 30 Angel Broking garnered 72.2% of the total income from broking business and according to HDFC Securities, “any reduction in its brokerage fee could have a material adverse effect on the business.” It also said that “general economic and market conditions in India and globally could have a material adverse effect on the business, financial condition, cash flows, results of operations and prospects.” The ICICI Direct report said the company might face concentration risks. “As of June 30, Angel Broking had 21.5 lakh operational broking accounts of which 8.1 lakh clients had traded on the exchanges in the preceding 12 months.
