The app was primarily launched to provide services for <keyword id="19955648" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adani-Group" source="keywords">Adani Group</keyword>’s airport vertical. Users can book flights, check the status of their flights, go shopping for duty-free products and more. Since then, the app has come a long way. For instance, the Adani One app has already integrated bill payment services and also launched a co-branded credit card in collaboration with ICICI Bank. And now, reports are that the <keyword id="20028332" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="super-app" source="keywords">super app</keyword> is working to offer loans through its platform. This will be made possible by partnering with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (<keyword id="19938300" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NBFCs" source="keywords">NBFCs</keyword>). <h2>Adani One app to provide personal loans?</h2>According to a report in Moneycontrol, the Adani One app will start to offer personal loans through pilot projects in collaboration with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The app has partnered with KrazyBee Services, a subsidiary of KreditBee, to facilitate personal loans ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5 lakh. Adani Digital Labs will act as a lending service provider (LSP) in this partnership. As of the latest report, Adani One achieved a gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 750 crore for the financial year ending March 2024 and has a user base of 30 million. The company aims to reach 500 million users by 2030. Adding more services to its super app, therefore, seems to be a step in this direction. The Moneycontrol report also adds that Adani One is also in discussions with other NBFCs and fintech companies to broaden its credit product offerings. The exact commission rates for loans will vary based on agreements with partners. This move is part of Adani Group's broader strategy to enhance its super app, which now includes a range of services beyond its original focus. <h2>What is a Super app?</h2>A Super app often acts as a one-stop solution for various needs. For instance, an app that allows you to buy movie tickets, book flight tickets, make payments etc will be called a super-app. Apart from Adani One, there are various other super apps like Tata Neu, and <keyword id="19957624" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="myjio" source="keywords">MyJio</keyword>. Interestingly, KreditBee, which Adani group is reportedly partnering with, is also a lending partner for Tata Neu.

Tata Digital held this press conference to formally introduce their latest super app, Tata New, that was launched on April 7, 2022. Pal mentioned that the app has received 2.2 million enrollments and witnessed a “significant” number of transactions since its launch. He also mentioned that the people shopping on the Tata Neu app are shopping across categories. Pal also mentioned that the strong offline presence that Tata has is going to benefit Tata Neu as well. He, during the launch of the app, mentioned that the Tata Neu began with a cumulative consumer base of 120 million users and 2,500 offline stores, along with an 80 million app footprint across its digital assets. The app, which was initially rolled out a little over six months ago, was only open for 800,000 Tata Group employees and their friends and family till its formal launch last week. The app had already been downloaded over 100,000 times both on Google Play Store and Apple App Store before it was open to the larger customer base. N Chandrasekaran, who took charge as the chairperson of Tata Digital earlier this week, mentioned that Tata Neu has been in making for the last two years. However, he denied all media reports that the launch of Tata Neu has been delayed. “We were calibrating it along the way and we came out at the right time,” he noted. Tata owns several retail brands like BigBasket, 1mg, Croma, AirAsia, Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL), Qmin, Starbucks, Tata Cliq, Tata Play, Westside, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors and Vistara which will be available on the super app. The company is looking to partner with external brands to enhance their offerings too, Pal said. Tata Play Binge says that a single subscription offers access to 27 national, international and regional applications in 13 languages, including Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5 and SonyLIV on mobile, desktop and television. If one subscribes to Tata Play Binge, one doesn’t have to take individual subscriptions to OTT platforms. The company’s plans allow up to four users to use the application at once to stream their favourite content. Tata Play Binge claims becoming India’s biggest OTT aggregator with 27 apps

British telecom major <keyword id="15492" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="vodafone" source="Orion">Vodafone</keyword> has raised its stake in debt-ridden <keyword id="6584552" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vodafone-idea-limited" source="Orion">Vodafone Idea Limited</keyword> to 47.61 per cent through its subsidiary Prime Metals, a regulatory filing said on Monday. The company earlier held 44.39 per cent stake in <keyword id="1553175" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vodafone-idea" source="Orion">Vodafone Idea</keyword> Limited (VIL). "Prime Metals held 2,18,55,26,081 equity shares, representing 7.61 per cent of the equity share capital, of Vodafone Idea Limited (the "company"). <keyword id="42733" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pml" source="Orion">PML</keyword> has acquired 570,958,646 equity shares of the company through allotment of equity shares pursuant to a preferential issue of the company," the filing said. On Thursday, Vodafone Idea had said that its board has approved the allotment of 338.3 crore equity shares at Rs 13.30 per scrip to three promoter group entities - <keyword id="777130" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="euro-pacific-securities" source="Orion">Euro Pacific Securities</keyword>, Prime Metals and <keyword id="13300460" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="oriana-investments" source="Orion">Oriana Investments</keyword> - for about Rs 4,500 crore. This includes allotment of 1,96,66,35,338 equity shares to Euro Pacific Securities (promoter), 57,09,58,646 equity shares to Prime Metals (promoter), and 84,58,64,661 equity shares to Oriana Investments (promoter group). The telecom operator in March had announced a Rs 14,500-crore fundraising plan, where promoters would inject Rs 4,500 crore. The report said that the group is in early talks with Just Dial regarding its latest e-commerce bet – JD Mart. The acquisition talks come as Tata is set to be working on its own Super App, for which it has already <a href="https://www.timesnownews.com/business-economy/companies/article/tata-group-to-buy-68-stake-in-e-grocer-bigbasket/721028">reportedly</a> signed a deal with grocery retail platform BigBasket for a 68% stake. Similarly, it could enter into a strategic alliance with Just Dial as well. The news of the possible acquisition drove Just Dial Ltd’s stocks to ₹943, up by 7.38% at 1.50 pm on Monday. In October 2020, Just Dial had said that it was set to launch its own B2B (business to business) marketplace called JD Mart. The potential and excitement for Just Dial’s new platform comes with the fact that the company already has a strong foothold in the market and a loyal user base. According to a report by financial services firm UBS, the company will be able to leverage its already existing 140 million quarterly unique users and 100,000 paid B2B subscribers to sell JD Mart. “We think Just Dial has developed a superior platform on the backdrop of an interactive user interface along with robust depth and breadth of B2B product offerings. JD's core strength is its large sales force (9,000), which should aid monetizing the new platform,” said the UBS report from October, 2020. JD Mart finds competition from the country’s oldest e-commerce platform IndiaMart, which has had an unchallenged run for 24 years. Interestingly, Tata was <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/start-ups/tatas-in-talks-to-buy-stake-in-indiamart-report-11602742923779.html">reportedly</a> in talks with IndiaMart as well earlier. However, in an exchange filing IndiaMart had categorically denied that it had not had any discussions with Tata Group. Meanwhile, JD Mart is making space for itself. The company, which had set aside ₹110 crore for marketing and advertising of JD Mart, has signed up to be a ‘Co-Presenting Sponsor’ of the Indian Premier League-14 (IPL 2021), which will be held in the months of April and May. Tata dials up another acquisition talk – with India’s discovery platform Just Dial, whose  stock is up by 7%

While WhatsApp pay is yet to take off, one year later, it seems Ambani is delivering on that promise through another route which can only be bigger. Reliance has <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-bytes/reliance-partners-google-facebook-in-seeking-nue-licence-from-rbi/articleshow/81237979.cms">reportedly </a>signed up with Google and Facebook to set up a ‘new umbrella entity’ (NUE), which will be promoted by RIL and Infibeam Avenues’ So Hum Bharat. Infibeam Avenues’ currently runs the payments gateway CCAvenue. India’s central bank had floated the bid for NUE licences in August, 2020. The NUE licence would enable the entity to hold pan-India control in payments, rivalling the likes of the government backed National Payments Corporation of India. NPCI is an initiative backed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) which acts as an umbrella entity that operates retail payments and settlements. The NUE licence would give the companies the opportunity to set up, manage and operate “ATMs, White Label PoS; Aadhaar based payments and remittance services; develop new payment methods, standards and technologies; monitor related issues in the country and internationally; take care of developmental objectives like enhancement of awareness about the payment systems,” according to the RBI guidelines. The RBI, which had initially set a deadline of February 26, 2021 for the application of the licences, recently extended it until March 31, 2021. According to <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-bytes/reliance-partners-google-facebook-in-seeking-nue-licence-from-rbi/articleshow/81237979.cms?from=mdr">reports</a>, RBI is initially going to give out only two NUE licences. The deal is also backed by Mastercard, PayU and Reliance’s telecom competitor Bharti Airtel. In an exchange filing declaring its stake in Tata-owned Ferbine, Kotak Mahindra Bank had said, “The main business of the company would be to operating a pan-India umbrella entity for retail payment systems, as would be allowed/licenced by RBI, subject to the approval of the NUE application.” <keyword id="191583" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jeff-Bezos">Jeff Bezos</keyword>’ e-commerce firm Amazon, which has been bullish about the Indian payments sector and rolled out its own product Amazon Pay, <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-bytes/amazon-icici-bank-axis-bank-ready-with-nue-plan-to-rival-npci-upi/articleshow/81181363.cms">has partnered</a> with ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and others for the NUE licence. The partnerships have sprung up as the RBI mandates that ‘no single promoter/promoter group shall have more than 40% investment in the capital of the NUE’. The latest developments in the payments sector with the Tata Group, Reliance and Amazon is just the latest in the rivalry between the three companies, who are already competing in the Indian retail sector. The company announced this after 56 out of the 74 scheduled matches were played during IPL 2023. Viacom18 is the digital streaming partner of IPL after having bagged the digital rights for the 2023-27 cycle for $2.7 billion. The IPL 2023 season is streaming for free, giving users access to matches in several Indian languages as well as English. In addition to these, JioCinema also offers the ability to use different modes like 360-degree, spider cam, bowler point of view, among others. “JioCinema continues to grow from strength to strength every week and it is based on clear evidence of consumer’s outright preference of catching the Tata IPL on digital [platforms],” said Viacom18 Sports CEO Anil Jayaraj.
