President Donald Trump reportedly once told his oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., that he could not trust anyone, including his own father, according to GQ Magazine.

The president would test his children and say "Do you trust me, your own father?", according to recollection by Don Jr. After his children would answer that they trust him, Trump would say, "What did I just tell you? You didn't take the lesson."

Trump's eldest son described it as "an interesting Trump moment because it's not something you'd see any conventional parent-child conversation go that way, especially not fully understanding what the concept of trust was," according to GQ.

The principle of not trusting anyone was also preached by Don Jr.'s mother, Ivana.

Trump apparently resisted naming his first-born son after himself in case Don Jr. ended up being "a loser," according to GQ.

Trump Jr., the president's most enthusiastic defender, joked that his father pressured Ivana to give birth to him before midnight on New Year's Eve so that the real estate mogul could list his first-born son as a dependent on his taxes for that year.
