President Donald Trump was seemingly tricked into sharing an anti-Trump message Wednesday morning after retweeting an account that promptly had its name changed to "F--- Donald Trump" and its picture to a logo of Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign.

The president retweeted over 60 messages early Wednesday, largely from firefighters and their families expressing support for Trump after the International Association of Fire Fighters endorsed his rival, Democratic candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden, for the presidency in 2020.

However, he appeared to be caught out by one account which ultimately ended up insulting the president.

"My husband a New York City firefighter for 15 years will be voting Trump 2020 all the way!!" read the message from one apparent supporter, a Twitter account bearing the display name 'lana del fenty' and the username "@glamourizes."

Shortly after the message appeared on the president's Twitter page, however, the account's display name was changed to "F--- Donald Trump."

The picture was also changed, from that of a young woman with flowers in her hair, to the logo of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, another of the president's Democratic rivals for the presidency in 2020.

A user began tweeting from the account in September 2017, with a series of messages tagging the president, containing his #MAGA (Make America Great Again) slogan hashtag, and remarks backing his policies.

Soon after the president's retweet, the account shared an insult-laden attack on the president.

"What a great morning. In all seriousness, our president is an awful, hateful human being who wants nothing more than to keep the status quo and hatred prevalent in our country when we should be pushing forward with the rest of the world towards progress and change. Please vote," tweeted the account, linking to a government voter registration site.

At the time of publication, the tweet insulting Trump is still present on his Twitter feed.

The International Association of Fire Fighters' declaration of support for Biden appeared to enrage Trump as he started his day, with the president tweeting: "I've done more for Firefighters than this dues sucking union will ever do, and I get paid ZERO!"

It's not the first time the president's approach to tweeting has backfired, with the president previously sharing messages from accounts that have promoted racist conspiracy theories and fake accounts selling pro-Trump merchandise.
