52 Executives from United Spirits got an annual package of more than Rs 1 crore last year

United Spirits, which is India’s largest liquor company, may have been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently, but there is one thing that its top employees can't complain about, and that is the fat salaries that they get to take home.

As per an ET report, as many as 52 executives at the liquor company took home salaries of more than Rs 1 crore last year, and the number is almost 50% up from a year ago.

In the number of annual crorepatis, USL has left behind Wipro, but still stands less than half of Hindustan Unilever’s 129 annual crorepatis.

USL's parent company Diageo is aiming to attract and retain talented resources in India, its slowly but steadily emerging key market.

The company has been in news for wrong reasons, because of former chairman Vijay Mallya, who is absconding after taking loans worth Rs 9000 crores from various state-run banks.
