The Auto Expo 2020, the 15th edition of India’s biggest motor show is underway in Greater Noida. Along with many top car makers, MG Motors which launched two cars in India showcased a few more upcoming cars at the event.

On display was MG E200 - a micro electric vehicle; Marvel X SUV, MG ZS Petrol and the RC 6 sedan. It also showcased cars that are being sold in other markets like 360M and the MG3.

MG E200 however was the most awaited car which is a successor of the Baojun 200. But it is unlikely that MG, which just launched its first electric car in India, will bring the micro electric to India anytime soon.

Upcoming cars from MG Motor in India

MG Marvel X

MG Motors said that the Marvel X is the world’s first mass produced vehicle with integrated internet, electric, and autonomous capabilities. It is a fully electric SUV which is currently manufactured by MG Hector’s Chinese parent SAIC group - under its Roewe brand.

The Marvel X is powered by a 52.5 kWh battery pack and will be available in two versions – a rear wheel drive and an all-wheel drive. It is powered by two motors - one with 114 bhp and one with 70 bhp.

The company has claimed that the battery can be charged in 8.5 hours and a single charge will provide a range of over 400 km.

MG ZS Petrol

After launching the MG ZS EV in India, the company is all set to bring home its petrol variant. The car is expected to go on sale in the country early next year and is expected to be priced between ₹12 - ₹16 lakh.

The ZS will be available in two petrol options – a 1.3 litre turbocharged unit capable of 160ps of power and a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated unit that is capable of 120ps of power. While the ZS Petrol is similar to the ZS EV, it comes with a blacked-out grille, LED headlamps and restyled fog lamps.

MG RC 6

The MG RC 6 is the first sedan from the company for India and is expected to be available from 2021. It is currently sold globally as the Baojun RC 6 and is a five-seater. Like other MG vehicles, it features a chrome studded grille, large headlamps and sleek tail lamps.

The MG RC 6 features a dual screen setup behind the wheel that provides all the information you may need. Under the hood, the car sports a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine capable of 156bhp and 250Nm.
