Around 22 National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force teams are deployed in these regions.

Initially, it was planned to airlift people from affected regions. But on August 7 helicopters which flew up to Kolhapur were forced to return due to heavy rains, poor visibility and adverse conditions.
For the sixth consecutive day today, parts of Pune, Satara, Kolhapur and Sangli is hammered by incessant rains, submerging large areas of land, fields, villages, towns and cities. Both road and rail traffic is hit badly.
