With a unibody polycarbonate design, Xiaomi Mi 4i is a device that looks and feels good in hand. And now Hugo Barra, vice-president of Xiaomi, has given a teardown treatment to this much-talked about handset to let us know what lies underneath the device.

As per a news report, a YouTube video showed Barra removing all the layers of Xiaomi Mi 4i until he could see just the casing, display and the chipsets. The 38-year-old also warned that this teardown treatment should not be tried at home as the opening up of the Mi 4i will void its warranty.

The Mi 4i was launched in India in April this year. The smartphone, which is equipped with a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS OGS display, is available on Flipkart at a price of Rs 12,999. The device is powered by a second-generation 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core (1.1GHz quad-core + 1.7GHz quad-core) 64-bit processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The handset also features a 16GB internal memory.

On the camera front, the device comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera for selfie lovers. Loooking at connectivity options, the Mi 4i includes dual-SIM card slots with both supporting LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. Considering that the Mi 4i comes with a huge battery (3,120 mAh), this is surprisingly thin and light-weight smartphone.
