One person was killed after a man started attacking passengers with a knife at a train station near Munich in Germany, newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) reports

The man reportedly screamed "Allahu Akbar" during the attack, according to witnesses. Three other people were injured in the attack.

Police also confirmed that the attacker was German, according to SZ.

The attack happened at around 4:50 a.m local time and police arrested the perpetrator shortly afterwards. All the victims were men.

The Grafing train station in southern Germany remains closed.

The Grafing Mayor, Angelika Obermayr, thanked the police, firemen, and doctors for their quick response, SZ reports. 

Germany, which is playing a supporting role in the fight against ISIS, has not suffered a major attack by Islamist militants like neighboring France and Belgium have experienced.
