The scheme was announced on Twitter by CM Adityanath's office, saying that its aim was to make sure that no one stays hungry in UP. The announcement also said that these kitchens would be serving unlimited portions.

For Rs 3, breakfast could include porridge, tea and pakoras and poha (beaten rice), while lunch and dinner, costing Rs 5 each, could serve rice, rotis, dal and seasonal vegetables.
A basic plan for the kitchens has been drafted and needs to be refined before an official release.

The number of these
