A five-year-old boy lost his life and another boy of the same age got injured in a tragic accident involving a car on Sunday, as reported by the police. The victim has been identified as Aarav.

The incident happened when the children were playing in front of their home in Murugeshpalya earlier on Sunday morning around 10.30 am.

The accused, who is reportedly around 18 years old, was cleaning the car outside his house with his father. He allegedly pressed the accelerator pedal accidentally as he starting the vehicle. The lurched forward quickly with immense force, causing damage to multiple parked vehicles on the road and hitting the children who were playing in the locality, as per local media reports.

Neighbours quickly came to assist in moving the children to the hospital. Unfortunately, Aarav, an UKG student, was unable to survive and passed away before reaching the hospital.

According to police sources, the other boy named Dhanaraj, who has suffered injuries and a fracture, is currently receiving medical treatment. As per reports, he is the son of a bank security guard named Lokesh, originally from Raichur. As per media reports, the vehicle carried a police sticker and the accused boy is reportedly the younger son of a local head constable.

Jeevan Bhima Nagar Traffic Police have detained the youth who is accused. The police have registered a case and mentioned that further investigations are ongoing. The tragic incident is reportedly recorded on CCTV as well.
