Uber's chief operating officer and chief marketing officer are leaving

Uber's Chief Operating Officer Barney Harford and Chief Marketing Officer Rebecca Messina are stepping down, according to an internal email sent by CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. The executive shake-up comes just a month after the ride-hailing company went public. Khosrowshahi wrote in the email that he wants to be more involved in day-to-day operations and the heads of Uber's core businesses should report directly to him.

Debbie Clifford named new Chief Financial Officer of SurveyMonkey

Debbie Clifford will join SurveyMonkey as Chief Financial Officer on July 8. With the addition of Clifford, the majority of SurveyMonkey's executive team members will be women. In her new role, Clifford will oversee all aspects of finance including financial strategy, planning and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations, in addition to strategic planning and corporate development.

Phil Levy joins Flexport as the company's first Chief Economist

Flexport has announced that Dr. Phil Levy will join its ranks as the company's first Chief Economist. Dr. Levy will lead a research team that identifies trends in global trade and how they impact the supply chain. Most recently, he served as a Senior Fellow on the Global Economy at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where he authored the book Rebuilding a Bipartisan Consensus on Trade Policy.

Petco appoints new Chief Digital and Innovation Officer

Petco has hired Darren MacDonald as Chief Digital and Innovation Officer. Prior to joining Petco, MacDonald managed Walmart's US e-commerce entertainment business where he grew market share and oversaw merchandising, planning, supply chain, marketing, business development, site experience, finance, human resources, product and engineering teams.

Postmates hires long-time Apple engineer to work on Serve

Postmates has hired long-time Apple engineer, Ken Kocienda, as Principal Software Engineer. He will be joining the Postmates team and working first on Postmates X, building the new platform for the company's autonomous sidewalk rover, Serve. Serve was first introduced in December 2018 and has been testing in various locations.
