Indians are finding it difficult to spend ₹2,000 banknotes although there are reports that petrol pumps, jewellery stores and e-commerce delivery people are being flooded with them. As many as 91% of those polled by LocalCircles, who had attempted to use the notes since the announcement of the Reserve Bank of India's plan to take them out of circulation, found them difficult to use. High-value spends such as gold and jewellery, high-end consumer durables and real estate could be targets for ₹2,000 banknotes which are not deposited by individuals, upon which disclosed income levels have been exceeded.
