It should also be noted that your iPad needs to be connected to the internet for any of these options to work. If your iPad is a WiFi + Cellular model, this shouldn't be a tremendous issue. But if your iPad relies on WiFi to connect to the internet, then unless it's connected to WiFi while lost, Find My iPad may not work. How to turn on Find My iPhone for your iPad

2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.

3. Tap "iCloud," and then tap "Find My iPad."

4. On the Find My iPad screen, turn on both Find My iPad and Send Last Location. Send Last Location is important because it sends the device's location when the battery is very low, so you can see where it last was if the battery dies and it can't be actively tracked.

In the Settings app, turn on the Find My iPad feature so you can track its location.

Once you've enabled these settings, you can find your iPad if you misplace it or if it's stolen. You can track it from any web browser or from another iOS device you own, like an iPhone.

How to find your iPad in a web browser via iCloud

1. In any web browser, open https://www.icloud.com/#find. You'll need to log in with your Apple ID and password. Apple won't ask you for a two-factor authentication code even if you have two factor authentication enabled.

2. You should see a map with the location of your various devices indicated. Above the map, click "All Devices" and then click the iPad you've lost to see specifically where it is located.

You can locate your iPad to within a few dozen feet of its location using the iCloud web page.

3. You can zoom in to get a better idea of where the iPad is located, and if you're near enough, you can click "Play Sound" to try to hear where it is. If it's lost or stolen, you might want to click "Lost Mode" (which locks the iPad and displays a custom message on the lost screen) or erase it entirely. Only erase the iPad if you think there's no hope of getting it back, since this resets the iPad to its factory settings and Find My iPhone will no longer work.
