Here we try to get the password for your Wi-Fi network. You can recover your Wi-Fi password irrespective of whether you have changed the default password or just forgot the password. Even if you have connected to that network from a Windows PC or Mac, you can get the Wi-Fi network password.

You will need the W-Fi password of a given device when you wish to hook up the device to a Wi-Fi network. In case you have misplaced your home network’s password or do not wish to ask for the Wi-Fi password from other people for the second time, here is how you can recover the Wi-Fi password easily.

Recovering your Router’s default Wi-Fi password

Each router will have its own unique password. If your router is still using the default password, it is easy to get it. Inspect the router thoroughly. You will find a sticker that will contain the name of the wireless network and the default password. You can use this password to connect to the Wi-Fi network if you have not changed the default password yet.

How to fetch the current Wi-Fi password on Windows

  • If you have connected to a Wi-Fi network from a Windows-based laptop or PC, the Windows will usually remember the Wi-Fi network password. To fetch this password, follow these simple steps.
  • Go to Control Panel and then to Network Sharing Center.
  • You can also do this by right-clicking on the Wireless network icon in the taskbar. Click on “Open Network and Sharing Center”.
  • Click the name of the present Wi-Fi connection.
  • Click on the ‘Wireless Properties’ button you will find in the Wi-Fi Status Windows that will appear now.
Select the Security Tab and click on to activate the checkbox against ‘Show Characters’. Now you will see the hidden password.
