Each router will have its own unique password. If your router is still using the default password, it is easy to get it. Inspect the router thoroughly. You will find a sticker that will contain the name of the wireless network and the default password. You can use this password to connect to the Wi-Fi network if you have not changed the default password yet.

How to fetch the current Wi-Fi password on Windows

  • If you have connected to a Wi-Fi network from a Windows-based laptop or PC, the Windows will usually remember the Wi-Fi network password. To fetch this password, follow these simple steps.
  • Go to Control Panel and then to Network Sharing Center.
  • You can also do this by right-clicking on the Wireless network icon in the taskbar. Click on “Open Network and Sharing Center”.
  • Click the name of the present Wi-Fi connection.
  • Click on the ‘Wireless Properties’ button you will find in the Wi-Fi Status Windows that will appear now.
Select the Security Tab and click on to activate the checkbox against ‘Show Characters’. Now you will see the hidden password.
