MG Hector launches in India – has 10,000 bookings with a 4-month waiting period

The iconic carmaker MG Motors has made its way onto the Indian roads. The British company which is now owned by Chinese SIAC entered the India automobile market with a a mid-size SUV, MG Hector.

While the car officially launched in India today with a starting price of ₹12.18 lakh, its bookings had opened in June. And, it has 10,000 of them already with a 2-4 month waiting period. The deliveries of the car will begin on July 1.

Earlier in June 2019, MG Motors launched its flagship store in Gurugram, along with a network of 120 centers across the country. The manufacturer plans to increase it to 250 centers by September this year.

"The one-of-its-kind flagship experience store redefines the traditional car buying experience in India, in line with the demands and requirements of new-age customers,” said Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India during the launch.

The car competes with the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 500, Hyundai Creta along with the awaited launch of Kia Seltos.
