2 weeks after Apple showed the world its 2 new smartphones,
Microsoft is going ahead and launching its next generation of Surface tablet. The event is scheduled to happen in New York today and the device will go up against
Nexus 7 and
iPad Mini.
Surface 2 should run the
Windows 8.1 RT operating system, which should be beneficial for the new touchscreen tablet users. The last surface did not make it on time to the Indian shores (through the right means) and many, including us, are hoping to get it early this year.
Along with Surface 2, one might see the
Surface 2 Pro that will have better machinery inside and also a detachable keyboard in the box. Hardware configuration is still unknown but speculations say one can expect at least a high-end dual-core CPU on the Surface 2 and a quad-core CPU on Surface 2 Pro tablet. We are waiting for the other side of the globe to wake up in couple of hours so that we can catch the action live and bring to you what the new tablet has to give.
