Haryana is going for the assembly election polls on October 21, 2019. The election commission has declared that all the 90 seats of the state will go for polling on the same day in one phase. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on October 24, 2019. When the election scene is turning hot in the state, the major political parties have been announcing their list of candidates who will fight from the state’s different constituencies.

BJP is fielding the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar from the Karnal seat. The new entrants to the party namely wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, ex-hockey captain Sandeep Singh and wrestler Babita Phogat will be fielded from Baroda, Pehowa, and Dadri respectively. BJP has not given ticket to seven sitting MLAs. However, 38 present MLAs are going to contest once again in the upcoming elections. BJP is fielding nine women and two Muslim candidates. BJP is looking forward to win not less than 75 out of 90 seats.

BSP is fielding two women candidates namely Shakuntala Bhatti and Sunita Dhull from Shahbad (SC) and Pundri segments respectively. BSP has withdrawn its alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party and has decided to face the lections independently. Mayawati has also said the party will contest in all the 90 seats of Haryana as they have stepped back from forming an alliance with the Congress too.

The Loktanra Suraksha Party (LSP) headed by Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini is also contesting in the upcoming assembly polls. The party has so far announced a list of 16 candidates who will be fielded from the different constituencies of the state. The top highlight of the list is the state party president Bharat Singh Chhokar, who will be fighting from Samalkha seat.

The main contest in the assembly elections 2019 in Haryana is between the BJP which is ruling the state at present and the Congress Party (INC). However, we cannot rule out the importance of the other parties in the lection scene this time. Parties like Indian National Lok Dal, JJP which was formed after a split in the INLD, LSP, AAP, and Swaraj India party are other key contestants.

The Congress party has said it will announce the list of candidates for the assembly elections 2019 in Haryana shortly. However, the party MLA Anand Singh Dangi has filed his nomination saying, "I don't need to ask anyone for a ticket and I am certain that I will win. There is no competition against me. I have huge support in the constituency.”

In an interesting move, Ex-BSF man Tej Bahadur Yadav walks into JJP. He will be nominated by the party to contest against the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. He was dismissed in 2017 after he was charged for posting a video showing the troops being served a poor quality food. JJP which has established itself as an independent party after a split from INLD will face the elections alone to test its luck in its maiden elections.
