Design

The BenQ Zowie XL2546X comes with a normal design unlike a lot of gaming monitors in the market, it is difficult to differentiate the monitor from regular monitors as it does not come with a flashy design or RGB usually associated with gaming devices.

The monitor has been designed keeping portability in mind, as gamers often carry their setup with them for tournaments. It weighs 6.2 kg, which is on the lighter side when we consider the usual weights for some of the other gaming monitors in the market.

One of the ways that the company has kept the weight down is by using a plastic body, including for the stand. Do note that the plastic is sturdy and should not be a concern.

Like most of its devices, there is no branding at the front but the back has the Zowie logo in red.

The stand comes with a small flat base. It offers height adjustment and also allows you to change the angle as per your preference. I found it easy to adjust the monitor to my requirements.

It comes with side panel shields that not only allow you to reduce the glare but also prevent others from looking at your screen from the sides, which can be important during tournaments as it helps keep your information safe.

For connectivity, the monitor offers three HDMI 2.0 ports, a single DP 1.4 and a headphone jack. It also features a port to connect the company’s S-Switch.
Display and performance
The BenQ Zowie XL2546X features a 24.5-inch TN LCD panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and 320 nits brightness.

The first thing that you will notice about the monitor is its motion clarity, which has been achieved with the company’s DyAc 2 backlight strobing technology which reduces motion blur.

The BenQ Zowie XL2546X comes with several presets and also offers three gamer profiles to customise the display as per the user’s needs.

I played several fast-paced titles such as Counter-Strike 2 and The Finals on the Zowie XL2546X while testing it. Coming from a 144Hz LED panel, the difference was quite clear, with the Zowie XL2546X offering much better motion clarity, especially when the situation required quick movements.

The Black eQualizer also came in handy, especially in games that had darker areas where it was easy for enemies to usually hide, giving me an edge.

Coming to the colours, while it cannot offer you colours like OLED panels can, the TN panel gets the job done and offers decent colour reproduction.
Verdict
The BenQ Zowie XL2546X is a premium gaming monitor that is designed for professional gamers. It ticks a lot of boxes, including a high refresh rate, good colour reproduction and DyAc 2 technology, which make it a treat for gaming, especially for those who play fast-paced games

The price tag may make it a hard choice for casual gamers looking to get a monitor. However, for those who don’t mind spending a good amount to get the best experience, the BenQ Zowie XL2546X is a good option.
