At its global launch event on Wednesday, Oppo unveiled its first flip phone, the Find N2 Flip. Taking design cues from Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4, Oppo's clamshell-style phone features a distinct cover screen and a more angular design.

Samsung currently holds a significant advantage in the foldable market, but now, Chinese brands are beginning to make headway in 2023. OPPO is leading the charge with the global release of its Find N2 Flip, which was originally announced alongside the Find N2 in China at the end of last year but was only available in the Chinese market.

The Find N2 Flip is scheduled to launch in the UK in the next few weeks, with a price tag of £849 (₹84,415), and is currently available for pre-order. It will be available in Astral Black and Moonlit Purple colour options. The device is also expected to be released in other nearby countries and will be made available in India soon.

What sets the Find N2 Flip apart is its remarkably large 3.26-inch cover screen with a resolution of 720x382 pixels, significantly larger than the 1.9-inch screen you'll find on Samsung's foldable.

The larger cover screen in Oppo’s Find N2 Flip means, access to more information without needing to unfold the phone, which can be useful for everything from the camera to checking mail and much more.

Once unfolded, the Find N2 Flip is much like a typical smartphone with its 6.8-inch display, which feels relatively tall and thin when compared to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. Other than this, it sports an AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset and it is available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Oppo Find N2 Flip: Battery & camera

In addition to its impressive display, the Find N2 Flip is equipped with all the features you would expect from a modern flip phone in 2023, including two rear cameras, with a 50-megapixel lens leading the way, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. Another area where Find N2 Flip has an edge over Samsung is the battery. There's a 4300mAh battery under the hood, 600mAh more than what Samsung offers. The Find N2 Flip features 44W SUPERVOOC charging, which is said to fully charge the device in under 1 hour.

However, unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the Find N2 Flip does not have an IP rating for water- or dust resistance, which may limit its suitability for outdoor use. The Galaxy Z Flip 4, on the other hand, has an IPX8 rating, which means it can withstand water immersion, but has no official protection against dust.

Finally, in terms of software, the Oppo Find N2 Flip runs on the Oppo ColorOS variant of Android 13. Oppo also says the device will receive four years of major Android version updates and five years of security updates.
