Pages have been streamlined. These would ensure they load 4X faster and consume 80% less data while they garner 50% more traffic. The Data Saver Mode is already available.<br />

<strong>Careers:</strong><br />

The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=YouTube">YouTube</a> Space in Mumbai’s Whistling Woods would offer content creators free advice and allow them to collaborate with others of their kind.<br />

Google is partnering with several institutions to train over 2 million <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Android+developers">Android developers</a> in the next 3 years. IF you’ve got an interesting idea, but can build an app, this must be good news!<br />

<strong>Google Translate:</strong><br />
<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Google">Google</a>’s Translation engine currently handles over 1 million words per second. While Android is currently available in over 50 languages currently, there are a few interesting features coming up soon.<br />
<br />
Tap to Translate allows you to translate English to Hindi and vice-versa in real time. It appears as a widget, so no need to log out of your <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=WhatsApp">WhatsApp</a> conversation while you translate. It also recognizes Hindi in English letters. The product is slated for an early Q1 2016 launch.<br />
<br />
Google also unveiled a Beta feature where you can point your cell-phone camera at Hindi text, and it’ll translate it to English in real time. The company is looking to extend these services to offer other languages soon.<br />

<strong>Looks like App, but isn’t:</strong><br />
Looks like the eternal ‘App or Not to App’ debate is over. Cut to Progressive Web Apps. These mobile browser experiences would look and feel as native as apps without the hassle to install bulky apps from Play Store. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Flipkart+Lite">Flipkart Lite</a> is an example. The company mentioned that it’s working with other players, and is ‘looking forward to working with android developers across India’. What does it mean to you? You get a lot of free memory on your phone!<br />

The country currently has over 57 million old PCs which are on its last pins.<br />

#GoogleforIndia means to India’s Aam Aadmi

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container float_right"><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/551af9dc69bedd0611f7348e-600-450/cbcykccuqaahu4n.jpg?maxX=600" border="0" alt="Asus Chromebit" width="600"><p class="source"><span>Matt Weinberger</span></p></img></div><p></p></div>The Asus Chromebit, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-announces-dirt-cheap-chrome-computers-2015-3">announced by Google today</a>, packs a lot of computing power into a little itty bitty form factor and a sub-$100 price point: Plug this stick into any display with an HDMI port, like most big-screen TVs nowadays have, and suddenly you have a Google Chrome desktop at your disposal. </p><p>It has uses limited only by your imagination. Like:</p><ul><li><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Upgrade an existing PC by plugging this into the monitor. </span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Use it for art projects or to build interactive displays using cheap TVs. </span></li><li><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Google cites the example of a retail store that can use it to manage all of their digital signs, changing a sale on shorts to a sale on umbrellas instantly once it starts to rain.</span></li></ul><p>It has a swivel head so it'll fit into more nooks and crannies, and you can use it with Bluetooth mice and keyboards. It uses a super-small ARM processor of the kind you normally find in a cell phone, so it doesn't really heat up. It has 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage, like most other Google Chrome devices. It even comes in multiple colors, for the style-conscious.</p><p>The big caveat, depending on how you use it, is that it uses Google's Chrome OS, which is basically just a web browser. So while it'll run apps like Spotify, Netflix, and Microsoft Office 365 over the web, and will soon r<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-chrome-os-is-getting-closer-to-android-2015-3">un some Android apps too</a>, you won't be playing Call of Duty on it any time soon. </p><p>The whole computer-on-a-stick thing has been done before, but never really well. <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The <a href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/04/09/review_dell_wyse_cloud_connect_android_ultrathin_client/">Dell Wyse Cloud Connect</a> is a $129 Android stick that does roughly the same thing, but it's explicitly for business users and unavailable on the direct market. Similarly, the <a href="http://www.citeworld.com/article/2604009/consumerization/dell-launches-dell-cast-a-chromecast-for-business.html">Dell Cast</a> is an Android stick that costs only $80, but will only work in conjunction with a Dell tablet - it's more more Chromecast than Chromebit. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Intel's soon-to-arrive $149 Compute Stick is going to be the most direct competitor to Chromebits, running Windows 8.1. Google's pitch has always been that the browser-based Chrome OS devices is the better, faster and simpler for low-horsepower computers like these sticks, and Windows can't keep up. Not to mention that the Asus Chromebit will be at least (they haven't announced final pricing yet) $50 cheaper.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Either way, the squeeze is on. <p>Google has opened the floodgates on cheap Chrome devices, announcing three brand-new ways you can use a browser-only PC without breaking the bank -from a tiny stick that plugs into an HDMI port to a laptop that flips over to become a tablet to $149 computers that are cheaper than most smartphones. </p><p>With today's announcements, Google wants to show that no matter what you need a computer for, Google can meet those needs for a much lower price than Microsoft's Windows partners or Apple's Macs.</p><p>So far, that strategy seems to be working pretty well, which is one reason why <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-chromebook-sales-2014-12">Chromebook models have been top selling laptops on Amazon for the last two holiday seasons running</a>. </p><p>Here are all the new devices Google unveiled today.</p><p><strong>$149 Chromebooks: </strong>Chromebooks are usually pretty cheap as laptops go - Asus sells many models for around $199, and even a higher-powered model like Toshiba's popular 13.3 inch Chromebook carries an MSRP of $329.</p><p>Today, though, Hisense and Haier release Chromebooks at new all-time low, with $149 models that Google promises don't skimp on performance or looks.</p><p><span>That $149 price point makes them almost irresistibly cheap, especially for cash-strapped schools looking to invest in devices - Chromebooks are already popular in education - and in developing countries.</span></p><p>These will also be the first Chromebooks that run certain Android apps like Viber, VLC Media Player, Vine, and DuoLingo straight from the desktop.</p><p>The Hisense has an 11.1-inch screen with a promised 8.5 hour battery life, running on an ARM processor (the same kind of chip you usually find in smartphones, not laptops) from Rockchip.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5519eaf569bedd160a84a681-1200-1715/slack for ios upload (10).jpg" border="0" alt="Hisense Chromebook"><p class="source"><span>Matt Weinberger</span></p><p class="caption">This post was written on the Hisense Chromebook pictured here. (Google didn't say how much it would cost.)</span></p><p>You can order the Hisense Chromebook and the Haier Chromebook 11 today from Walmart.com and Amazon respectively. </p><p>Meanwhile, Google gave Business Insider a Hisense Chromebook for review, and in fact, this very post was written on one.</p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Early impressions: It's solid but unremarkable, which makes it exceptional for a $149 computer.</span></p><p><strong>Asus Flip: </strong>The $249 Asus Flip, due later this year, does what it says on the box and flips over to go from a 2-pound, 10.1 inch-screen laptop to a 10.1 inch-screen tablet.</p><p><span>In laptop mode, it looks just like any other Chromebook. It's also due out later this year.</span></p><p>Plug a Chromebit into the HDMI port of any television or monitor, and you have a full-fledged Chrome OS-based computer at your disposal. It has USB ports on the end to plug in a mouse and keyboard, or you can use Bluetooth for the same.</p><p>The Chromebit has 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage, "exactly the same as any other Chromebook," Sengupta says. He described it as a "tiny little Chrome device." </p><p><span>The Asus Chromebit looks a bit like the popular Chromecast, only bigger and in a variety of colors. A business that buys a bunch of Chromebits will be able to control them all from a central point. </p><p>Google claims that because you can use them ad infinitum, that "less than $100" price point means that the Chromebit is actually cheaper than the cost of printing a new paper sign for every new need. </p><h3><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;">A Chromebook for every niche</strong></h3><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Back in 2012, there was only one Google Chromebook. </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">It was made by Samsung, and it ruled the Amazon charts for a long while (as many individual Chromebooks still do), but it was the only one. </span></p><p>Since then, Google has expanded the web-based Chrome operating system (OS) to work on a variety of products, from an expanded range of Chromebook laptops to the Chromebase all-in-one PC to the Chromebox shuttle PC to the Chromebox for Meetings teleconferencing system.</p><p>Now, Google has identified more itches that it believes Chrome devices can scratch, and on the cheap.</p><p>Microsoft has committed to making Windows 10 free on small devices, which should pave the way for a lot of inexpensive Windows devices. Google just upped the pressure on Microsoft with a bunch of dirt cheap Chrome computers

It'll do you just fine for watching YouTube or browsing Facebook, but it's not really recommended for playing,<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/fallout-4-pc-vs-ps4-vs-xbox-one-graphics-comparison-2015-11"> say, Fallout 4</a>. </p><p>It's more than a little like <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-chromebit-tiny-computer-on-a-stick-2015-3">Asus' own Chromebit</a>, a similar HDMI stick that runs the Google ChromeOS operating system at a price of $85. This stick is a palm-sized Windows 10 computer that you plug into a TV

<p><span>It's always been a little puzzling why Google had two operating systems, Android and Chrome OS. Over time, Google seems to have realized that itself, and is bringing the two closer and closer together.</span></p><p><span>Today, Google took the wraps off some new features coming to Chrome devices that will make them more like Android than ever before.</span></p><p>At a media event meant to spotlight <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-announces-dirt-cheap-chrome-computers-2015-3">Google's dirt-cheap Chrome hardware</a>, including the Asus Flip tablet/laptop combo and the Chromebit computer-on-a-stick, Google Chrome user interface chief Josh Anderson was also on hand to show off some of the changes coming to the operating system. </p><p><span>"We're rethinking our [user interface] for portable devices," said Anderson.</span></p><p>We <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-chrome-os-features-announced-at-google-io-2014-6">already knew that Google</a> was working with developers like Vine, DuoLingo, and Evernote to get their Android apps up-and-running on Chromebooks, but we have our first glimpse of how that's going to work.</p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">When you press the "search" button that's on every Chromebook's keyboard, up will pop something that looks a lot like an Android home screen, including a search bar and some app icons, for both Android and your stock-standard Chrome Web Apps. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5519ee19eab8eaf23cd69310-1200-750/chromeos1.png" border="0" alt="The new Google Chrome OS app launcher"><p class="source"><span>Google</span></p><p class="caption">The new Google Chrome OS app launcher lets you see Google Now cards and launch apps.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div><br /></span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><span>Plus, you'll be able to see your Google Now cards for up-to-the-minute personalized information like weather, travel times, and news - <span>the same as you can from your Android phone or tablet.</span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5519eeab6bb3f7177584a681-1200-750/chromeos2.png" border="0" alt="Google Now on Chromebooks"><p class="source"><span>Google</span></p><p class="caption">You'll soon be able to see Google Now cards on Chromebooks</p></img></div><p></p></div></div></span></span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Anderson showed a demo of the Android version of popular chat app Viber running on Chrome OS. It worked well, and even let him place a phone call. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Similarly, Anderson played a video of a high-speed motorcycle race being played on the Android version of VLC Media Player running on a Chromebook that was smooth and with a minimum of stutter.</span></p><p>Android apps on Chrome OS will be available first on the Hisense and Haier low-end $149 Chromebooks, but thanks to a speedy Chrome release cycle, they should be out on every Chromebook within six weeks of today. Google has also released tools for any Android developer, not just Google's chosen few, to bring their apps to Chrome OS.</p><p>Beyond apps, there are some other ways the two platforms are coming together, too. The Asus Flip, a Chromebook revealed today that's half laptop, half tablet, will bring a new touch interface for Chrome OS that takes as much from Android as it does from Windows 8's Live Tiles, making it easy to work with it while it's in tablet mode. </p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Also, Chrome OS will soon get a feature called SmartLock, where you can use an Android phone as a key to unlock a Chromebook without a password and without having to take the phone out of your pocket. (If your stuff gets stolen, in what Anderson calls "the gym bag scenario," you can remove that ability remotely.)</span></p><p>And on a much more subtle note, Anderson says that the team is slowly changing little things like the typefaces on Chrome OS to be closer to Android.</p><p>There's one thing that Android is hoping to take from Chrome OS, too: That speedy, six-week release cycle.
