There was a time when start-ups were considered to be risky. However, the success of start-ups in the recent past has led to an incessant rise in the popularity of start-ups. However, the shortage of spaces in coming-of-age cities has always been a problem, to solve which, there was a need of <keyword id="358590" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Micro-Markets">micro markets</keyword>. 
 
And now, the growing demand for commercial space from start-ups in India has led to a 10% increase in the rentals of the hubs for these companies, as per the real estate services firm CBRE. 
 
"The cities that led the demand include Bengaluru and Gurgaon. By 2020, there will be 11,500 startups, employing over 250,000 people," Ram Chandnani, managing director-transaction services at CBRE South Asia, told ET. 
 
Out of the total demand for office market, nearly 10% is driven by ecommerce companies, which barely existed about two years ago. However, in 2015, these companies leased 4.3 million sq ft as compared to 0.54 million sq ft in 2014, said CBRE data. 
 
"At a time when quality supply is drying up in the market, the additional demand coming in from e-commerce has surely had a positive effect on the rental values of key ecommerce favourite micro markets like Mumbai's Eastern Suburbs, Whitefield in Bengaluru and NH8 in Gurgaon," Ramesh Nair, COO, business and international director at JLL India, told ET. 
 
The demand from e-commerce is generally directed towards quality Grade A spaces that provide large floor plates in the peripheral business districts of various cities. These cities include Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. 
 
"We have been seeing active interest from e-commerce companies, which are now an important segment of our overall portfolio. It is a small but interesting new area and we have been looking at different solutions to respond to this segment," Mike Holland, CEO of Embassy Office Parks, a JV between Embassy Group and Blackstone, told ET.

This has allowed the youths of India to explore the space sector". Expressing her happiness about ISRO's plan to make <keyword id="20793131" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="space-mission" source="keywords">space mission</keyword> debris-free she said "I am happy that India is moving towards making India's space mission debris-free by 2030". India celebrated its first-ever National Space Day on Friday on the theme "Touching Lives While Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga". On 23 August 2023, India achieved a historic milestone when the Chandrayaan-3 lander completed a soft landing on the moon. This remarkable accomplishment made India the 4th country to accomplish this feat and the 1st to land on the lunar South Pole. In recognition of this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared August 23 as National Space Day.

Singapore marks the first step in our APAC growth and will serve as the headquarters for our global expansion,” said Livspace’s CEO and Co-Founder, Anuj Srivastava. It has also brought ex-Mckinsey and Grab executive Ravindran Shanmugam on board as the country head of Singapore. In India, the company claims to have an 80% market share and works with 3,500 registered designers and has designed 20,000 homes. In May 2019, Livspace had raised funding from Ingka Group – a key franchise partner of Swedish furniture giant, IKEA. The Ingka Group owns and operates 367 IKEA stores contributing to 90% of IKEA’s total retail sales. Catering to the huge demand, the Indian government has decided to set up a co-working space for <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword>. The demand has come from Mangaluru and for the first time, the government will own a co-working space, which will have 3D printing and new-age digital infrastructure. "We felt there was a great demand for a co-working space in Mangaluru. Many startups told us that they had to go to Bengaluru or other cities to access such facilities and infrastructure,” a senior official told ET. The co-working space will be designed to accommodate 100 people and a team of officials is in talks with some of the Delhi-based co-working space owners. The workstations will be made available at a price nearly half the market rate being charged by privately owned social workspaces. Several ministries are being approached to help in setting up the space, for instance, the ministry of electronics and information technology has been requested for high-speed internet, 3D printing equipment, etc. Once this model is set up, the government may also launch a patent facilitation cell. "We will select the right people to run the place only after asking for suggestions from the start-ups themselves since it is an entirely new territory for the government to enter,” the senior official added.
