Singapore-based neobanking platform <keyword id="4697996" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="stashfin" source="Orion">Stashfin</keyword>, which only serves the India market, on Tuesday raised $270 million in its Series C equity and debt round led by global investors including Uncorrelated Ventures, Fasanara Capital and Abstract Ventures. The new round values Stashfin between $700-$800 million. The platform said it will use the funds to expand its footprint in Southeast and South Asia and upgrade its technology for new products. "The fundraise is a key milestone in this challenging macro environment. We are now at the cusp of transforming into a compound startup, offering multiple financial products for consumers with a wide spectrum of credit risks," said Tushar Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Stashfin. Existing investors in the round were Altara Ventures, Kravis Investment Partners and Snow Leopard. Founded in 2016, Stashfin saw 10 times growth in its monthly business in the pasr 12 months, and is currently nearing an annualised revenue run rate (ARR) of $100 million. The startup said it has registered nearly 10 million customers on its platform since inception and is projected to grow 4-5 times this year, with an ARR expected to grow to $400 million over the next 12-18 months. "Digital retail lending in India is growing fast. Stashfin's product and technology stack are impressive and enviable, as are their underwriting sensibilities," said Salil Deshpande, Founder and General Partner of Uncorrelated Ventures. A chartered flight carrying <keyword id="6358821" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="shiv-sena" source="Orion">Shiv Sena</keyword> MLAs, who have rebelled against the party bringing a crisis to the MVA government in <keyword id="13126" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="maharashtra" source="Orion">Maharashtra</keyword>, arrived here early Wednesday. Sources said that the flight from Surat in Gujarat landed at Guwahati's Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi international airport at around 6.30 am. The exact number of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs travelling in the flight is not known immediately but the flight had 89 passengers, including onboard crew, sources said. The Maharashtra MLAs are being taken in special buses to a city hotel with police protection. Assam is currently ruled by a BJP-led government. Top leadership of Assam BJP and the state government are believed to have been making arrangements for the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs accommodation in Guwahati. This is perhaps for the first time that MLAs from a Western Indian state is being taken to a Northeastern state after their rebellion against the party leadership. Rebel Sena MLAs arrive in Assam as Maharashtra political crisis continues

There are innumerable cases of people having two masters' degrees but rarely does one find someone doing a double <keyword id="6401882" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="intermediate" source="Orion">intermediate</keyword> and that too, after a gap of almost 50 years. Mohammad Naki of Bijnor, had passed intermediate in 1972 as a humanities student when he was just 17. Fifty years later, this 67-year-old man cleared his intermediate exams again-- this time in the science stream--because he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a <keyword id="174680" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pharmacist" source="Orion">pharmacist</keyword>. "I was unable to pursue further education and had to start working early because family responsibilities came in the way," he told reporters. Naki has scored 72 per cent marks, which is even more that what his two granddaughters, Muskan(17) and Suhana (15) have got in their class 12 and class 10 exams respectively. "My family was not financially sound. After taking intermediate exams in the arts stream, I cleared some Urdu exams that were 'equivalent' to graduation and started working as a clerk at an inter-college in my native village. I worked there for around 10 years but my salary was very low. I had to eventually resign," he said. After resigning, Naki bought nine bighas of agricultural land and started growing flower crops. He used the flowers to work as a decorator. He later also set up an ayurveda practice. "My interest in ayurveda grew and I eventually started a small practice in Gurugram, where my son worked as a supplier of electrical goods. However, there was a raid on my street by health authorities and I was told I could not pursue the practice without a degree. I then went back to my village and met Neha Khan, a teacher at a local school, who guided me. She told me that I needed to secure a degree in naturopathy to become a hakeem. I therefore moved to Banda district and got a four-year diploma in natural yogic science," he said. After acquiring the diploma, Naki decided to study further and become a pharmacist. However, when he visited an Amroha-based pharmacy college, he was told that he needed to clear intermediate exams in the science stream, not humanities, to enrol. "This is when I decided to clear the tests again," he said. Naki said he was "publicly ridiculed" when he appeared for his exams at Bijnor's Kelanpur inter-college this year. "Students laughed at me and asked me what such an old person like me was doing there. But not everyone was negative. Some police personnel clicked my pictures and told me they would show it to their children to inspire them," he said. He further said that his mother, 100-year-old Aneesa, was 'overjoyed' after learning about his results. "She showered me with her blessings and some money," he said.
