<ul class="summary-list"><li>Biographer Walter Isaacson is working on a book about <keyword id="11897862" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="elon-musk" source="Orion">Elon Musk</keyword> and discussed it with the NYT <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/28/books/elon-musk-books-biography.html">Wednesday</a>.</li><li>"Dealing with his life is like trying to take notes while drinking from a fire hose," Isaacson told the outlet. </li></ul><p>Writing a biography about the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-really-thinks-putin-is-significantly-richer-than-me-2022-3">world's richest man</a> conjures images of putting out fires and stopping fast-moving water, according to a quote from one of Elon Musk's more recent biographers <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/28/books/elon-musk-books-biography.html">reported</a> by The New York Times Thursday. </p><p>"Dealing with his life is like trying to take notes while drinking from a fire hose. It keeps coming fast," said Musk biographer Walter Isaacson, who has written about Steve Jobs and Leonardo da Vinci, the outlet noted. </p><p>Issacson completed a phone interview with the Times Wednesday, amid Musk's $44 billion dollar <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-buying-twitter-latest-american-political-divide-2022-4">acquisition of Twitter</a> and his antics in the days since, which have included <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ex-twitter-ceo-musk-encouraging-online-hate-of-executive-2022-4">harassing company executives</a> and opining on <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-twitter-censored-free-speech-donald-trump-truth-social-2022-4">free speech</a>. </p><p>But even outside of his last couple of weeks with <keyword id="11892744" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="twitter" source="Orion">Twitter</keyword>, there's a lot to say about Musk. </p><p>He has had a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-relationships-2017-11">rich personal life</a>, including his "fluid" relationship with singer Grimes, two wives prior to that, seven total children, a difficult childhood, and penchant for living in or (saying he lives in) homes that are <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-tiny-home-prefab-boxabl-casita-50000-person-waitlist-2021-8#curious-about-the-tiny-home-believed-to-house-a-man-who-could-afford-countless-mansions-instead-4">wildly at odds with the amount of wealth he has amassed</a>: $253 billion, per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. </p><p>He's also built several companies, including luxury electric carmaker Tesla, SpaceX, and PayPal. </p><p>His complex life and openness about it (Issacson said that Musk has been very forthright with material and people to talk to; Musk even <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1423104512479334402?s=20&amp;t=1ENIc5n4yUxjSVqsVS7rhw">announced</a> the biography himself last August) has made for an easy time writing about him in some ways, Issacson told the Times. </p><p>"The good thing about Elon Musk is everybody wants to talk about him and everybody's got thoughts about him," he said. </p><p>He even pushed back on a perception that Musk's mercurial activities, from changing course on big statements to trolling people online, make it hard to write an unchanging narrative for a book about him. </p><p>"I don't think he's as random as he allows himself to appear," Issacson said.</p><p>Simon and Schuster did not immediately respond to a request for comment on what the publication date of the biography might be, and Musk also did not immediately respond to a request for comment. </p>

Apple fought the battle because late CEO Steve Jobs believed Android copied the iPhone, and he <a href="https://gizmodo.com/5851937/steve-jobs-was-ready-for-thermonuclear-war-with-google">declared</a> "thermonuclear war" on Android, according to Walter Issacson's biography. Samsung, as the premier Android manufacturer, became the target, not Google. </p><p>Now, the two sides have settled. Terms of the settlement are not public, according to Reuters. The U.S. Supreme Court ordered a $399 million award against Samsung late last year, but district judge Lucy Koh ordered a new trial on earlier this year. Samsung had previously paid Apple $548 million.</p><p>Apple told <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-apple-samsung-elec/apple-samsung-settle-us-patent-dispute-idUSKBN1JN2S4">Reuters</a> that the "case has always been more about money." </p><p>Apple fans may remember the legal battle not for legal minutia over design patents, but rather for giving us the best look ever into Apple's prototype design process.</p><p>In 2012, Samsung filed exhibits that lifted the veil of secrecy around how Apple comes up with new products. Among sketches, emails, and computer files, one exhibit included a slew of photographs of actual iPhone prototype designs.</p><p>The designs range from a chunky iPad design to models that you might be able to recognize as early iPhones. It also includes several interesting design directions that Apple decided not to pursue, including a MacBook Air-like aluminum shell and an iPhone with eight sides and squared-off corners. </p><p>"While Apple has been able to keep some things private, there have clearly been more things made public than the secretive company would prefer," Ina Fried wrote at the time <a href="http://allthingsd.com/20120729/court-case-offers-rare-glimpse-at-dozen-of-iphone-and-ipad-prototype-designs/#slideshow-1-40">for AllThingsD</a>.</p><p><strong>The photos have been reproduced below. "It had to be a piece of journalism. When I write something, there is actually a requirement to be subjective; it's really the difference between a photograph and a painting."</span></p><p><span>Sorkin's movie is structured in three acts, with each act centered around Jobs backstage before a major product announcement. It sounds like a far cry from a traditional biopic, which usually traces the main character's highs and lows of life from as early as childhood.</span></p><p><span><span>Andy Hertzfeld, a member of the original Macintosh team who helped consult on the movie, echoed Sorkin's sentiment <a href="http://recode.net/2015/10/02/original-mac-team-member-andy-hertzfeld-talks-about-the-hollywood-steve-jobs-qa/">in an interview with Recode</a>.</span></span></p><p><span><span><span>"The purpose of the film is to entertain, inspire and move the audience, not to portray reality," <span>Hertzfeld said.</span> "It is cavalier about the facts but aspires to explore and expose the deeper truths behind Steve's unusual personality and behavior, and it often but not always succeeds at that."</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>Regardless of its historical accuracy, Sorkin's movie is sure to polarize audiences. Don't expect Aaron Sorkin's Steve Jobs movie to be entirely realistic

<p>Unverified photos of what appears to be a 60-inch Apple TV set are being passed around on Wednesday.</p><p>They were posted by iPhone concept drawing designer and Apple fan Benjamin Geskin, who cited a Chinese-language post on Weibo as his source.&#xa0;</p><p>The four photos, which are unusually blurry, appear to show a large display with squared-off edges. According to the original Weibo post, the device has cameras, too.</p><p>The photo shows a TV set with an Apple logo that appears to be going through wireless verification testing, which is typically one of the last steps before a device is released to the public.&#xa0;</p><p>Apple has not released a TV display for decades. A few years ago, an all-in-one Apple TV set was regularly rumored, partially due to a passage in Walter Issacson's biography of late CEO Steve Jobs as well as persistent industry chatter.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/587fea9dee14b618038b8be7-1200/56a687b8dd0895730b8b46f22.jpg" alt="apple tv" data-mce-source="Apple/Business Insider"><p class="source"><span>Apple/Business Insider</span></p><p class="caption">Apple's current TV product doesn't have a screen.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>But a <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/behind-apples-move-to-shelve-tv-plans-1431992617">seemingly definitive Wall Street Journal story</a> in 2015 put to rest any impending TV rumors after high-profile Apple investors including Carl Icahn had started discussing the product in public:<p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Apple didn't officially kill the project to make televisions, according to people familiar with the matter. The team was disbanded with members sent off to work with different product areas, they said."</p><p>Instead, Apple's focused on its set-top box strategy, which it has called a "hobby." Apple has also been working on bankrolling high-quality TV shows, according <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/apple-readies-1-billion-war-chest-for-hollywood-programming-1502874004">to the Wall Street Journal</a>. It may spend as much as $1 billion per year on original content.</p><p>Meanwhile, Apple's closest manufacturing partner, Foxconn, recently announced a plant in Wisconsin that will build high-resolution LCD screens, which are expected to go into Sharp-branded TV sets. <p>Leonardo DiCaprio won't be playing Steve Jobs in Sony's next biopic of the Apple cofounder, <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/leonardo-dicaprio-exits-steve-jobs-737570?utm_source=twitter">according to The Hollywood Reporter.</a></p>
<p>DiCaprio wants to finish his next project, "The Renevant," and then take a break from acting.</p>
<p>The Reporter didn't say what's motivating DiCaprio's flight from the screen. </p>
<p>This isn't the first time Sony has produced a Jobs biopic, though it is the first such film with a screenplay by Aaron Sorkin.</p>
<p>Sorkin wrote the screenplay for "The Social Network," which chronicled the early days of Facebook.</p>
<p>He's also written "The West Wing" and "The Newsroom."</p>
<p>Sony's biopic is based on Walter Issacson's biography of Jobs. The Hollywood Reporter also notes that Danny Boyle will be directing the project since David Fincher declined the job.</p>
<p>With DiCaprio out of the picture, Sony will need to find another A-list Jobs lookalike. David Fincher reportedly wanted Christian Bale for the role.</p>
<p>Sony is also considering Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper.</p>
