The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available in Delt, Zeta, Sigma, Alpha, Zeta Plus, and Alpha Plus variants. Also, Vitara will be available in mild and strong hybrid powertrain engine options.
Meanwhile, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be available in E, S, G, and V variants, along with mild and strong hybrid powertrain engine options.
Both of these SUVs will be available in two engine options. The Grand Vitara gets a mild-hybrid K15C engine that makes 103HP and 137nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota Hyryder has a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine that makes 115HP and 122nm and is paired with Toyota’s e-CVT gearbox. These SUVs get an AWD option, but only on the mild hybrid variants.
Hyryder and Vitara get a 9-inch Smart Pro Play Plus touchscreen infotainment system with a 360-degree, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, fully digital instrument cluster (only on strong hybrids), ISOFIX child-seat mounts, automatic climate control, and drive mode selector on the AWD version.
The prices for these SUVs are yet to be revealed. However, Toyota has announced that it will offer up to five years of vehicle warranty and eight years of warranty on the battery. Maruti has not announced anything about this segment yet.
Both of these SUVs will compete against Volkswagen Taigun (₹11.39- ₹18.60 lakh), Skoda Kushaq ( ₹11.29- ₹19.49 lakh), Kia Seltos (₹10.19- ₹18.45 lakh), and Hyundai Creta ( ₹10.44- ₹18.18 lakh).
