Andy Cohen finally addressed his commentary on Kate Middleton.

In March, social-media speculation about Kate's whereabouts and well-being exploded online. The Princess of Wales had been absent from the public eye since Christmas, and Kensington Palace announced she had undergone a "planned abdominal surgery" in January and wouldn't return to public-facing duties until after Easter.

Conspiracy theories about Kate's condition started spreading online the longer she wasn't seen in public, and they only worsened after Kensington Palace released a photo of her with her children that appeared to be altered on March 10.

After weeks of speculation, Kate shared in a video on March 22 that testing after her surgery revealed she had cancer and she was undergoing "preventative chemotherapy" to treat it. King Charles is also in the midst of treatment for cancer; neither the king nor the princess has revealed the kind or stage of cancer they have.

Kate requested privacy while she undergoes treatment in the video.

"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment," she said.

Before Kate's announcement, Cohen contributed to the speculation around the princess. On March 18, he wrote, "That ain't Kate," in an X post after TMZ and The Sun shared a video of Prince William and Kate walking through a market near Windsor Castle. Cohen has 2.4 million followers on X.

Cohen didn't immediately address his commentary after Kate's announcement, while other celebrities who had speculated on her publicly, including Stephen Colbert and Blake Lively, commented on their statements.

But on Monday, Cohen said on his SiriusXM show "Radio Andy" that he regretted saying anything about Kate online.

"I just want to say I am heartbroken by the news about Princess Kate," Cohen said.

"I think someone on Sky News called me a 'numpty' during that whole conversation, and they were right," he said. "I wish I had kept my mouth shut."

"We are all praying for Princess Kate and King Charles," Cohen added.
