Health content portal Modasta raises $1.5M
Health content and queries platform, Modasta, has closed $1.5 million from HNIs based in Mauritius. Founded by former Yahoo executive Bikram Barman, his wife Dr Geethanjali Barman and Pankaj Pandey, the company provides access to quality health information through articles and videos. It covers a range of health-related content, curated by Indian doctors, across five regional languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam along with English.
LedGenius closes $10M fromLumia Capital and past investor Sierra Ventures
LedGenius, sales and marketingstartup , today announced that it has closed $10 million in Series B round of financing led by Lumia Capital and past investor Sierra Ventures — Lumia’s Marin Gedalin is joining the company’s board of directors. The round also saw participation from Better Ventures, Bee Partners, Y Combinator , Kapor Capital, Initialized Capital, Fuel Capital, Scrum Ventures and Funders Club. Formerly known as MobileWorks, LeadGenius helps customers find likely sales leads and reach out to them with automated emails. The company says revenue increased 6x in the past 20 months, with customers including eBay, Box and Weebly.
FirstMark Capital Invests in genomics company ‘Phosphorus’
Phosphorus, a new computational genomics company has raised $10 million in Series A round of financing led by FirstMark Capital, with participation from the founders and several angel investors. Phosphorus is building a genomic data network that will help providers, researchers, and patients around the world better understand and harness the power of the human genome.
