What is CrPC, section 144?
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 restricts the congregation of five or more people within a particular area. Under the law, anyone found in violation will be booked for disobeying a public servant under Section 188.
Prior permission for weddings
The new outlined guidelines state that the citizens will have to seek permission from the Noida administration for gathering a maximum of up to 100 people.
It also mandates the organiser to sanitise the party halls and venues before and after the function. And, all COVID-19 norms such as social distancing and wearing of masks are required to be followed during the gathering.
Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar recorded 138 new COVID-19 cases that pushed the district's infection tally to 23,458 on Sunday. The number of active cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar is the fifth highest in the state.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases in UP came down to 22,160 from 22,245 on Saturday, while the overall recoveries reached 5,24,860 and the death toll linked to COVID-19 climbed to 7,924 on Sunday.
