Crypto couples all over the world are putting their vows on the blockchain or exchanging rings in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
On the flip side, hackers are using dating apps to scam victims into installing fake cryptocurrency apps.

Love in the times of crypto isn’t easy to find, and it’s even harder to HODL onto. But crypto couples — like the ones who recorded their vows using a Bitcoin ATM at Disney World or added their vows to the Bitcoin blockchain — are in a league of their own.

While many find bliss, it’s not all happy endings. According to the security research firm Sophos, there’s a rising trend of hackers targeting dating apps to trick victims into installing fake cryptocurrency apps on their smartphones.

The report cites that at least $1.4 million has been stolen by way of crypto romances on Tinder, Grindr, Bumble and others.
