The town of Marietta, GA is proud to call the Big Chicken a local landmark, often used by locals as a marker for giving directions. Big Chicken recently underwent a $2.2 million renovation to bring it up to date in KFC’s new American Showman style for its U.S. restaurants. Several elements were customized for Big Chicken, including 1,185 square feet of patio space, a food theater, a retail store, and an exclusive Big Chicken radio channel…yes, a radio channel. Guests close enough to the Big Chicken can tune into 820 AM radio station to hear deep thoughts from the previously silent bird.
Located in the same building as the Checkpoint Charlie museum, the restaurant opened in 2016, representing the ninth KFC to open in Berlin and the first location in Berlin to open with the newest KFC design. Checkpoint Charlie is the name given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War.

This KFC has been serving customers for the last 21 years and was last remodeled in December 2015.
At 5,575 square feet and with a double drive thru, the world's largest KFC drive thru is located at the National Railway Station’s south terminal in Kiev, Ukraine. The drive thru can serve 200 cars per hour, and the KFC features a 400-seat patio and an interior dining room that seats up to 280 people.
KFC made history in 2015 when it launched its first eco-friendly restaurant in the Malaysian university town of Nilai, located just outside of Kuala Lumpur. Not only a milestone for KFC, the opening also represents the first green-built restaurant in the country. The building is designed to reduce energy consumption by 30 percent and to use solar power to generate 100 percent of the hot water required for the kitchen. Smart lighting design, like the use of natural sunlight, LED lights and integrated control systems, uses 55 percent less energy to keep the building lit. Other green aspects include the capture and reuse of rainwater for irrigation as well as providing used cooking oil for conversion to biodiesel.

In Indonesia, Steve Lillywhite, six-time Grammy winning producer, bundles recorded CDs with KFC fast food at KFC restaurants throughout India. Lillywhite’s company, Jagonya Music & Sport Indonesia (a subsidiary of KFC in Indonesia), sells 500,000 CDs a month alongside menu items like the Chick ’N Fillet sandwich and the Colonel Yakiniku Rice box.
