Ludo King is India’s homeground family game that has been topping the charts even before the COVID-19 pandemic and got more popular during the lockdown. Developed by Gametion Technologies, Ludo King has been downloaded over 100 million times, and has a 4.3 stars rating on the Google Play Store.
The single-player puzzle game requires the player to solve obstacles using logic to rescue the princess. It has a 4.5-star rating on the Google Play Store and has been downloaded more than 10 million times. Most of the app’s over 100,000 reviews are positive.
Carrom Pool by the legacy game developer Miniclip.com is popular among casual gamers looking to pass the time during the lockdown. It’s been downloaded more than 100 million times and has a rating of 4.2 stars.
It’s not an alternative to PUBG but is still an action game where you get to kill the enemy. The assassin game has a 4.2-star rating on the Google Play Store and more than 100 million downloads.
The action runner game by Ivy, a company based in the US, has a rating of 4.1 stars and more than 100 million downloads.
Call of Duty: Mobile is another PUBG alternative that’s received a boost in India after the ban on Chinese apps. What many don’t know is that even though the partnership has since been called off, Activision and PUBG’s parent company Tencent originally worked together to develop the game.

The only racing game in the top 10, Hill Climb Racing, has a rating of 4.3 stars and has been downloaded more than 500 million times. Developed by Finland-based Fingersoft, most of the reviews for the game are positive.
Subway Surfaces may be number 10 on the list, but it has the most amount of downloads compared to any other game on the list — more than one billion. The 4.4 star rated game was developed by SYBO Games, a technology company based out of Denmark.
