Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in China and is expected to hit the global market soon. While it is not going to be launched in India, I recently got my hands on the device and here is my experience with it.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a premium offering from the company and is packed with powerful hardware. It comes with a faux leather back and an aluminium frame, that gives it a great in-hand feel.

The main highlight of the device is its quad camera setup. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a quad camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP 1-inch Sony IM989 sensor with f/1.9-f/4.0 variable aperture and HyperOIS. It is also equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX858 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto lens with 5cm super macro and a 50MP Sony IMX858 super-telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and OIS.

Packed with powerful hardware built with Leica, the device is able to capture excellent images without any difficulty. It is able to capture good colour details and accuracy. You can also capture excellent portrait images with the device and there are several Leica filters to choose from, among which my favourite was the Leica Sepia.

The phone features a large 6.73-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and up to 2600 nits of peak brightness, making it one of the brightest displays on a smartphone. The display supports Dolby Vision and delivers vibrant colours and deep blacks.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and the base variant comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It also comes with a new liquid cooling system aimed at keeping the device cool even during extended gaming sessions. The device easily handles whatever you throw at it and is a great option for multi-taskers and gamers.

The phone comes in six colour options – three regular colour options and three custom colour options. The device comes In Black, Olive Green, White, Cabernet Orange, Ginkgo Yellow and Starry Sky Blue colour options.
