Xiaomi has finally launched HyperOS, the company’s new interface for its smartphones and tablet in India. HyperOS will replace MIUI on eligible devices and all future devices, starting with the Xiaomi 14 on March 7 will be launched with HyperOS.

Xiaomi has claimed that HyperOS will offer improved performance, optimise storage usage, offer improved personalisation options, and more. The company has also revealed the list of eligible devices and the rollout schedule. Some devices have already started receiving the update in the country.

HyperOS is reported to reduce the average response delay for scheduling critical tasks by 14% and a 16% reduction in delay in task switching. Users can also expect a reduction of 17% in message delivery delay.

Compared to MIUI 14, HyperOS will occupy significantly less storage. While MIUI 14 used 12.53GB of storage, HyperOS will take 9.14GB storage. The storage occupancy for OTA has also been reduced by 79%.

Personalisation changes



The HyperOS update also brings new personalisation options to smartphones and tablets. Users will get access to multiple personalisation options for lock screen and home screen, allowing them to customise this as per their preference.

The control centre has also been revamped to make it easier to control the device, including the addition of a new media player widget in the notification screen.

HyperOS will offer a new system font – MiSansGlobal, which supports over 600 languages, over 1 lakh glyphs and 20 writing systems.

The company has also redesigned the floating window, allowing users to view multiple applications at once, aimed at making multitasking easier.
