Cupertino tech giant Apple at its “Scary Fast” event has launched new MacBook Pro 14-inch, MacBook Pro 16-inch and the 24-inch iMac, powered by the newly announced M3 chipsets.

The new M3 chipsets bring in improved CPU and GPU performance and are also the first Apple chipsets to offer hardware-accelerated ray tracing, improving the gaming experience.

The new MacBook Pro comes in Silver, Space Grey and Space Black colour options. The laptop is available to pre-order starting from today and will start shipping from November 7.

The new MacBook Pro has two display options – a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display or a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. Both the displays come with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. The device runs on macOS Sonoma.

While the MacBook Pro 14-inch is offered with the new M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is offered only with the M3 Pro and M3 Max chipsets. While the devices are offered with up to 48GB of unified memory, this can be further upgraded up to 128GB.

In terms of storage, the devices are offered in two variants – 512GB and 1TB, which can further be upgraded up to 8TB.

The MacBook Pro features a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a three-mic array with high signal-to-noise ratio, a six-speaker sound system with force-cancelling woofers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers three Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 4 port, USB 4 port, SDXC card slot, a MagSafe 3 Port and HDMI 2.1 port.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is powered by a 70Whr battery and the 16-inch MacBook Pro offers a bigger 100 Whr battery pack.

Apple 24-inch iMac price and availability



The 24-inch iMac is priced starting at ₹1,34,900 for the base variant, going up to ₹1,74,900 for the 8GB unified memory + 512GB SSD variant.

The new iMac comes in Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Silver and Yellow colour options. It is available to pre-order starting from today and will start shipping from November 7.

Apple 24-inch iMac features

The 24-inch iMac is the successor of the 2021 iMac that was equipped with the M1 chipset. The iMac is now powered by the new M3 chipset, which is claimed to offer 35% faster CPU performance and 65% faster GPU performance.

The iMac is equipped with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina XDR display with up to 500 nits brightness. Like the new MacBook Pro, the 24-inch iMac also runs on macOS Sonoma.

The M3 chipset is paired with 8GB unified memory, which can be upgraded up to 24GB. Additionally, it comes with up to 512GB storage, which can be upgraded up to 2TB.

The iMac is offered either with a backlit Magic Keyboard or a Magic Keyboard with TouchID. It features the same 1080p FaceTime HD camera and a three-mic array with high signal-to-noise ratio.

In terms of connectivity, it features a DisplayPort, a Thunderbolt 3 port, USB 4 port and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port.
