Statcounter, a platform that tracks web browser usage across various websites, reports that Google Chrome is still the world's most widely used desktop browser, holding 66.13% of the market.
In the meantime, Atlas VPN has found that Google Chrome is the most vulnerable web browser of 2022, with 303 reported vulnerabilities thus far. In fact, Google Chrome has the highest cumulative number of vulnerabilities of all time, with 3,159 reported vulnerabilities. Conversely, Apple's Safari browser has consistently had low vulnerability numbers for years. Despite recently reaching over 1 billion users and becoming the second most popular browser globally, Safari had only 26 documented vulnerabilities in the first three quarters of 2022.

In contrast, Microsoft has focused on integrating AI-based features into the Edge web browser to attract more users. The company has incorporated Bing Search with ChatGPT and the popular image generator DALL∙E.
