  • Intel has unveiled its latest H-series, P-series and U-series processors at CES 2023 in Las Vegas.
  • The 13th Gen mobile processors range from the high-end HX series to the entry-level N series.
  • A range of mobile processors has a rich suite of features and capabilities for all laptops, desktops, and IoT devices.
Intel announced a new line of the 13th Gen Intel Core mobile processor at the Consumer Electronics Show 2023 (CES). Dubbed the world’s fastest mobile processors, the lineup includes 32 variants of its 13th Gen Inter Core mobile processors, including its first 24-core processor for laptops.

The company’s 13th Gen Intel Core chips range from the high-end HX series to the entry-level N series for entry-level education and mainstream laptops, desktops, and edge native applications.

Intel says the mobile processors have a rich suite of features and capabilities for all laptops, desktops, and IoT devices.

Intel also debuted the 13th Gen Intel Core P-series and U-series mobile processors, intended for those who want high performance in sleek form factor for laptops. These processors will also feature the Intel Movidius vision processing unit (VPU), which the company has co-engineered with Microsoft, offering heavy multitasking.

Below, we look deeper into Intel’s new 13th Gen CPUs.
13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors
The 13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors include the first 24-core processor for laptops, which means faster multitasking for gamers and creators. The H-series processors extend support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory.

Regarding connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), which is said to offer 6x faster internet speed. Besides this, the new processor offers the latest Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity, and Thunderbolt 4 support, delivering a high data transfer speed of up to 40 gigabits per second.

Given the specifications, Intel claims 11% faster performance and up to 49% faster multitasking performance over the 12th Gen chips.
13th Gen Intel Core P-series and U-series processors
At CES 2023, Intel introduced the 13th Gen Intel Core P-series and U-series mobile processors for thin, ultralight laptops and beyond. These processors offer new Intel IrisX graphics for gaming. Besides this, the chips have memory support for DDR4, DDR5, and LP variants. They also have Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Intel Connectivity Performance Suite, Intel Bluetooth LE Audio, and Intel Wi-Fi Proximity sensing.

To support physical connectivity, they have four thunderbolt ports.

These P and U series chips are what we will see in a variety of laptops in the coming years. Also, Intel isn’t promising any major performance upgrades for its P and U series chips.
13th Gen Intel Core desktop processor
For desktops, Intel launched new 13th Gen Intel Core processors. The new desktop processors will offer users more efficiency while delivering incredible performance in creation, gaming and productivity.

The processors are compatible with 600-series and 700-series motherboards and support both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. They also come with Dynamic Tuning technology, for enhanced performance and better power scaling.

The 13th Gen desktop processor lineups are designed for more mainstream desktop PCs with a balance of performance, and power efficiency for productivity and gaming.
Intel N-series processors
Intel has introduced N-series processors which are specifically built for the education segment, IoT edge native applications, and entry-level computing.

When compared to previous-generation processors, this N-series processor is said to offer 42% better performance and 56% better graphics. Besides this, they feature a high-resolution display engine and improved support for the camera module. Like H-series processors, N-series extend support for Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and Bluetooth 5.2.

The N-series processors can be used in portable medical imaging devices, kiosks, and office automation equipment like copiers.
