In addition to the iPhone 15 series and the Apple Watch, we also expect the AirPods Pro to get an update with a USB Type-C port. Like all past events, we expect to hear more about iOS 17, including new features and a release date.
Apple event date and time
Apple’s iPhone 15 event will be streamed on Apple’s website, Apple TV and the company’s YouTube channel on September 12 at 10:30 PM IST.
What to expect from the Apple event
iPhone 15 series
The main highlight of the September 12 event will be the iPhone 15 series. The company is expected to announce four devices in the iPhone 15 series – the entry-level iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus and the top-end – iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. One of the major changes this year’s iPhones will offer is the addition of a USB Type-C port that will replace the Lightning port.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to receive minor changes, including the addition of the Dynamic Island to the non-pro variants. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be equipped with the powerful A16 Bionic chipset, an upgrade over the A15 Bionic chipset.

Apart from this, the non-pro variants are expected to get Qi2 wireless charging.

Coming to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the devices are expected to get some design changes and a big boost in performance and cameras.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be shipped with a titanium chassis, replacing the existing stainless steel. This is expected to make the device more durable and lighter.

The top-end devices will be powered by the new Apple A17 Bionic chipset, which is expected to offer substantial performance and efficiency improvements.

The premium iPhone 15 Pro Max will also get a substantial camera upgrade. The device will offer a revamped camera setup with a periscope lens technology. This will allow the device to offer up to 6x optical zoom, up from the 3x zoom.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will also get a USB Type-C port and Qi2 wireless charging support.
Apple Watch Series 9
The Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to be an iterative update and is not expected to receive any major updates over its predecessor.

The Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to be equipped with the new S9 processor that will bring performance and battery life improvements.

The Watch Series 9 will reportedly be available in a new woven fabric material strap and a new pink colour option.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is also expected to be unveiled at the event but there’s not much information available about the device at the moment. It is also expected to be powered by the new S9 processor as the Apple Watch Series 9.

Apple AirPods Pro

Apple is also expected to unveil the new AirPods Pro at the event, which will also sport a USB Type-C port. Apart from this, it is expected to get a minor performance improvement and increased battery life.
