A Twitter engineer on a H-1B visa was fired by Elon Musk's "Twitter 2.0 team," before Thanksgiving, he said in a $4.
Yiwei Zhuang, a software engineer of three years at Twitter, said his "employment is terminated immediately with no reason today by Elon's Twitter 2.0 team before Thanksgiving."
He added: "Many employees are fired today as well including those who are on parental leave."
Zhuang, who is a former Facebook intern and has experience in machine learning infrastructure, said he was "on an H1B visa and have only 60 days to start a new job." He urged his network to contact him about job opportunities.
Zhuang's post went viral receiving almost 500 reposts.
Zhuang and Twitter did not immediately respond to requests for comment about his firing, made outside of normal working hours.
Musk fired dozens of Twitter employees, mostly engineers, overnight on Wednesday, just before Thanksgiving, $4.
Employees fired were notified that the layoffs were due to performance reasons, and were offered one-month severance, sources told Hays.
The firings came as a surprise because Musk had said he $4, in an all-hands meeting on Monday at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters.
