Though the doodle is a rough drawing made absent-mindedly, Google has made it more than that with its state of the art technology and imagination. Here’s celebrating sixteen years of doodling with the top five Google doodles of 2014 till now.

1. Unlike previous year’s doodles, this year’s doodle celebrated the love of a father in its right essence. With chick, pup, cub and kid, the love of a universal father was showcased. From nurturing us to teaching us how to speak, from giving us a back ride to playing horse ride with us, a father does it all. PETA must be satisfied finally!
2. The next in the list has to be the doodle celebrating 81st anniversary of Loch Ness Monster’s most famous photograph that unveils the mystery which haunted a whole generation and led to brain storming behind it for years. The iconic image of a sea serpent rising out of the water paved way for the myth. The photograph depicted it as an underwater submarine. Google never fails to surprise, this time with celebrating myths and folklores which was once a grandma’s resort to charm her grandchildren!

3. Fairy tales do come true! The fairy tale spun in Jules Vern’s book, Around the World in Eighty days, was made true by Nellie Bly, a female reporter who inspired a legion of male and female reporters. She travelled the world in 72 days. Singer Karen O even wrote an original song for this doodle, in what could be the first in musician-logo collaborations.

4. In a year marking some of the most iconic decisions towards making this world LGBT friendly, Google was not far behind too. With a doodle honouring the participation of gays in sports in the Winter Sochi Olympics, Google highlighted Russia, the host country’s homophobic stances, in what will no doubt become an iconic doodle in the history of doodles.

5. Last but not the least, a mention of a personal favourite! It is the doodle celebrating the 86th anniversary of the first radio calisthenics broadcast in Japan, a video depicting the importance of well being and healthy living.

Talking about doodles is never complete without mentioning about the world’s first doodle. Though we are talking about 2014, but this doodle will remain ageless forever. The first ever doodle was created in 1998, when the company’s founders added a stick man to the logo to tell the world that the company was out of office.
