The company had registered a profit of Rs 3,005.6 crore in the year-ago period. The consolidated revenue of operations increased 4.4 per cent to Rs 37,599.1 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 36,009 crore a year earlier. "Consolidated performance was impacted primarily by the devaluation of the Nigerian Naira. We added 7.8 million smartphone customers and delivered an industry leading <keyword id="20233536" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ARPU" source="keywords">ARPU</keyword> of Rs 209," Bharti <keyword id="19896909" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airtel" source="keywords">Airtel</keyword> Managing Director Gopal Vittal said. For the year ended March 31, 2024, Bharti Airtel's profit dropped 10.5 per cent to Rs 7,467 crore from Rs 8,346 crore in FY23. The annual revenue from operations of the company increased 7.7 per cent to Rs 1,49,982.4 crore during the reported fiscal from Rs 1,39,144.8 crore in 2022-23. For FY24, the Airtel board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 8 per fully paid-up equity share of face value of Rs 5 each and Rs 2 per partly paid-up equity share of face value of Rs 5 each. Bharti Airtel net profit tanks 31% to ₹2,072 cr in Q4

The company posted a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 285.86 crore in the same quarter last year. For the full 2023-24 fiscal, its PAT stood at Rs 1,747 crore, which was 36 per cent higher compared to a year ago. Addressing an earnings call on Wednesday, the company's Managing Director Bharat Puri shared that the full-year revenue was underpinned by distribution expansion supply chain and digital initiatives. The company's total income for the quarter under review rose to Rs 2,950.73 crore as against Rs 2,712.07 crore a year ago, according to a regulatory filing. However, its total expenses also rose to Rs 2,450.87 crore in the January-March period from Rs 2,318,09 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. For the full financial year 2023-24, the company's total income stood at Rs 12,522.64 crore as against Rs 11,848.71 crore in the previous fiscal. Puri informed that the company incurred a loss of nearly Rs 72 crore shown as an exceptional item in the consolidated results released in a regulatory filing on Tuesday evening on account of divestment of its Brazilian subsidiary. Pidilite Industries Q4 profit rises to ₹304 crore

Quick service restaurant operator <keyword id="20376663" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Devyani-International" source="keywords">Devyani International</keyword> Ltd on Tuesday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 48.95 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, impacted by forex translation loss due to the devaluation of Nigerian currency. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 59.88 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal, Devyani International said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 1,047.08 crore as against Rs 754.98 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, it added. Total expenses were higher at Rs 1,057.32 crore as compared to Rs 724.77 crore in the year-ago quarter, it added. During the quarter ended March 31, 2024, and the year ended March 31, 2024, due to significant devaluation of the Nigerian currency, the Nigerian subsidiary of the group has recognised Rs 42.37 crore and Rs 89.7 crore devaluation impact on account of translation loss of USD denominated liabilities in Nigerian subsidiary's financial information as at March 31, 2024, and year ended March 31, 2024, respectively, the filing said. "Considering the significance of the amount involved, the said exchange translation loss has been presented as an "exceptional item" in consolidated financial results of the group," it said. Devyani International Ltd (DIL) is the largest franchisee for <keyword id="20506161" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yum-Brands" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Yum Brands" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Yum Brands">Yum Brands</keyword> (KFC and Pizza Hut) in India. For the fiscal ended March 31, 2024, the consolidated net loss was at Rs 9.65 crore. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 262.51 crore in the year ended March 31, 2023, according to the filing. In FY24, consolidated revenue from operations was at Rs 3,556.32 crore as against Rs 2,997.72 crore in FY23. "In 2024, we have diligently focused on our strategic expansion goals. Over the course of the year, we opened 256 new stores, including 47 in the fourth quarter. As of March 31, our total store count has reached 1,782, including the 283 KFC stores we acquired in Thailand on January 18, 2024," Devyani International Chairman Ravi Jaipuria said. He said alongside the global expansion, the company has also been working on a strategy to enhance its domestic footprint of the food courts business in response to India's emergence as a major destination for travel, tourism, and shopping. "The domestic travel market is picking up very well and we are seeing religious tourism as one of the important thrust areas. India is also gaining importance in the international markets for medico tourism and a value-for-money shopping destination," Jaipuria said. DIL said the investments in infrastructure and the revitalisation of the travel and tourism sector augur well for the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry. "The outlook for India in 2024 appears optimistic, and DIL is well poised to seize the opportunity presented by this favourable trend," it said. Devyani International posts net loss of ₹48.95 crore in Q4

Telecom operator <keyword id="6354287" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharti-airtel" source="Orion">Bharti Airtel</keyword>'s consolidated net profit fell 2.8 per cent during Q3FY22 to Rs 830 crore on a year-on-year basis. In the same quarter of the previous fiscal, the consolidated net profit of the company stood at Rs 854 crore. On the other hand, the total revenues during Q3FY22 grew 12.6 per cent to Rs 29,867 crore, as against Rs 26,518 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Besides, EBITDA grew 22.4 per cent to Rs 14,905 crore, against Rs 12,178 crore reported in the same quarter last fiscal. "We have delivered another quarter of sustained performance across all our business segments... The recent tariff revision for mobile services has gone down well and we are exiting the quarter with an industry leading ARPU of Rs 163," said Gopal Vittal, MD and CEO, India and South Asia in a statement. The full impact of the revised mobile tariffs, however, will be visible in the fourth quarter, he said. "Our Enterprise, Homes and Africa business continue to deliver strongly, with steady increase in contribution to the overall mix of the portfolio. Our balance sheet is robust and we are now generating healthy free cash flows. This has enabled us to recently prepay some of our spectrum liabilities to the government thereby reducing the interest burden." Furthermore, Google's recent investment in the company is a strong validation of <keyword id="15491" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="airtel" source="Orion">Airtel</keyword>'s role in being a leading pioneer of India's digital revolution, the statement said. Bharti Airtel reports 12.6% increase in revenue, ARPU up by 6.5%

New Delhi, Apr 6 () Revenue and EBITDA for wireless telecom service providers are expected to improve sequentially during March quarter 2019-20 fuelled by tariff hike in December, but the full impact is likely only in first quarter of the current fiscal when majority users come for recharge, according to Axis Capital.Axis Capital, in its recent report outlining Q4FY20 preview, has also anticipated a soft quarter for infrastructure providers, impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.The report said Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are expected to benefit from the price hike as well as subscriber addition, while subscriber loss is expected to continue for Vodafone Idea. "We expect revenue and Earnings before Interest, Tax Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for wireless service providers to improve led by tariff hike taken in December 2019, though the full impact is expected only in Q1FY21 when most users come for recharge," it said.The report, dated April 3, added that EBITDA will "benefit from pass-through of the price hike with margin improvement in the range of 20 basis points(bps) quarter on quarter (QoQ) to 80 bps QoQ for Indian wireless business." On infrastructure providers, it said Bharti Infratel, is expected to have a muted quarter with modest tenancy addition. Tejas Networks, it said, will have another soft quarter after weak third quarter on reduction in revenue from government projects and COVID-19 impact, while Sterlite Tech's revenue/margin is expected to contract QoQ due to pressure on pricing and volume of products and also services impacted by COVID-19.In case of Bharti Airtel, the numbers are seen improving, with Axis Capital expecting consolidated revenue and EBITDA to be up 3.8 per cent QoQ and 5.1 per cent QoQ with 55 bps improvement in margin. "India wireless revenue to be up 6.1 per cent QoQ on the tariff hike taken in December 2019, though we expect full impact to come through only in H1FY21 when most of the customers come for recharge," it said about Airtel, adding management speak on floor pricing proposal, 5G auction and strategy to increase market share will be the key focus.For Reliance Jio, Axis Capital report expected revenue to grow by 5 per cent QoQ (over 6.4 per cent QoQ in Q3) led by continued net subscriber addition and improvement in average revenue per user."Subscriber addition remained strong in January/February, though it moderated towards March-end due to COVID-19 impact," Axis Capital said on Jio adding that management commentary on GigaFiber ramp-up and steps for net debt reduction is likely to be key focus post Q4 results.Meanwhile, BofA Securities in its Q4 preview report said that tariff hike benefits are seen offsetting lockdown impact in Q4. "We expect stable set of 4Q numbers from Bharti/Vodafone Idea given the defensive revenues and benefits from December 2019 tariff hike. However some impact was felt due to the lockdown leading to a major decline in net adds/recharges post March 24...," the report by BofA Securities said.It has estimated 7.7 per cent and 4.5 per cent QoQ increase in India cellular revenues for Bharti and Vodadone Idea.It is pertinent to mention here that in mid March, while easing compliance requirements amid coronavirus outbreak, regulator Sebi gave a 45-day relaxation for companies to file their fourth quarter results as well as an additional one-month time to submit their annual results. With respect to quarterly financial results, companies have been given 45 days till June 30, 2020 to file their March quarter results.In the case of submitting results for the year ending March 31, the watchdog has extended the time till June 30. The company attributed the growth to GMV growth, device additions, and growth in the financial services distribution business. Since its IPO, when the company went public, it for the first full year EBITDA before ESOP profitability of Rs 559 crore, its earnings results released Wednesday showed. In the January-March quarter, however, Paytm reported a revenue of Rs 2,267 crore, a modest decline of 3 per cent year-on-year. "In Q4 FY 2024, we had lower marketing spends, as we paused most of the user growth spending in the month of February and March. We expect to reinvest in these areas in the coming financial year," Paytm informed stock exchanges. "While we experienced a financial impact in Q4 due to the above disruptions, the full financial impact will be seen in Q1 FY 2025." Paytm says it is confident of seeing meaningful improvement starting from Q2 2024-25, based on restarting certain paused products and achieving steady growth in operating metrics. In Q1 of the current fiscal, its focus will be on acquiring new merchants, reactivation of inactive merchants, and redeployment of devices from inactive merchants to new merchants. "While there will be a smaller net addition of device merchants in Q1 FY 2025, we expect net additions to improve from thereon and recover to past trendlines by Q3 FY 2025." Its revenue from payment services were up 26 per cent to Rs 6,235 crore; net payment margin was up 50 per cent to Rs 2,955 crore; gross merchandise value (GMV) up 39 per cent to Rs 18.3 lakh crore. Merchant paying subscriptions for devices have reached 1.07 crore as of March 2024, an increase of 39 lakh. Revenue from financial services and others up 30 per cent to Rs 2,004 crore; value of loans distributed was up 48 per cent to Rs 52,390 crore. Further, Paytm said that the active rate and per device subscription revenue has been impacted. Merchant subscription revenue in Q4 was Rs 90 per device per month and it expects it to bottom out at Rs 80 in Q1, post which it should increase towards Rs 100 by Q4 of the current fiscal. "We continue to address our merchants' needs through innovative product launches and are backed by a large distribution and service network. We recently launched two more "Made in India" soundboxes which are customized to the needs of our merchants, with louder speakers and longer battery life."
