<ul><li><keyword id="46577" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hero-group" source="Orion">Hero Group</keyword> and <keyword id="6354544" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kkr" source="Orion">KKR</keyword> have announced a $450 million investment in the company's renewable energy arm, <keyword id="7029" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="hero" source="Orion">Hero</keyword> Future Energies.</li><li>Post this investment, <keyword id="2951983" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hfe" source="Orion">HFE</keyword> is valued at $1 billion.</li><li>HFE currently has an operational renewable energy capacity of 1.6 GW and operates in five countries apart from India.</li></ul> Hero Group and American private equity firm KKR have announced an investment of $450 million (approx. ₹3,600 crore) in Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the company.<br /><br />Hero Future Energies is a 10-year-old company and has presence across India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine and the UK. It offers a wide range of renewable energy technologies, ranging from solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen. It currently has 1.6 GW of solar and wind power projects operational.<br /><br />“HFE’s clean energy solutions play an important role in helping companies decarbonize as energy demands continue to grow. We look forward to working closely with HFE’s management team and existing investors, including the Hero Group and IFC, to help HFE achieve its next phase of growth and contribute to the energy transition efforts in India and globally,” said <keyword id="201167" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hardik-shah" source="Orion">Hardik Shah</keyword>, partner at KKR.<br /><br />KKR is not the first to invest in HFE – earlier, International Finance Corporation, and Abu Dhabi Future Energy (also known as Masdar) together picked up a 20% stake in HFE for $150 million, valuing the company at $750 million. Hero Group, KKR to invest $450 million in Hero Future Energies

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Hemochromatosis is a condition that causes an overload of iron in the blood.</li><li>Many people do not show any symptoms, but some experience fatigue and joint pain.</li><li>It can either be inherited or caused by receiving multiple blood transfusions. </li></ul><p>Iron is a mineral that's crucial for our bodies to properly function. Iron helps create <a href="https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Iron-Consumer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hemoglobin and myoglobin</a>, molecules that are transporting oxygen throughout your body. </p><p>But it's possible to have too much of it in your blood. This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening condition known as <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hemochromatosis</a>. </p><p>Here's what you need to know about the symptoms, complications, causes, and risk factors of  hemochromatosis. </p><h2>Symptoms of hemochromatosis</h2><p>Most people with hemochromatosis <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">do not have any symptoms</a>, says <a href="https://www.yalemedicine.org/specialists/robert_bona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Robert Bona, MD</a>, hematologist at <a href="https://www.yalemedicine.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yale Medicine</a> and professor of medicine at <a href="https://medicine.yale.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yale School of Medicine</a>. </p><p>However, in people who do show symptoms, Bona says the most common signs are fatigue and joint pain. Additionally, some patients with hemochromatosis may notice a darkening of their skin color, says Bona.</p><p>You may exhibit symptoms beyond this if the hemochromatosis has gone on to affect various organs in your body, and it may even lead to organ failure, says <a href="https://providers.keckmedicine.org/provider/Caroline+Piatek/205334" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Caroline Piatek, MD</a>, hematologist at <a href="https://www.keckmedicine.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Keck Medicine of USC</a> and associate professor in the Jane Anne Nohl Division of Hematology at the <a href="https://keck.usc.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Keck School of Medicine of USC</a>. </p><p>For example, <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hemochromatosis may affect the</a>: </p><ul><li>Pancreas, which can lead to diabetes</li><li>Pituitary gland and gonads, which can lead to decreased libido and impotence</li><li>Heart, which may cause arrhythmias or heart failure</li><li>Liver, which may lead to cirrhosis</li></ul><p>The most dangerous of these complications are iron overload in the liver and heart, since heart failure and cirrhosis can both be fatal, says Piatek. </p><h2>What causes hemochromatosis?</h2><p>There are two main types of hemochromatosis: primary and secondary. </p><p><strong>Primary hemochromatosis </strong>results from abnormalities in the gene that regulates iron metabolism.  This is also referred to as hereditary hemochromatosis since it is most commonly caused by the <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HFE gene</a>. It is also one of the <a href="https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condition/hereditary-hemochromatosis/#frequency" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most common genetic disorders</a>.</p><p>Inheriting these abnormal genes does not guarantee that you will develop hemochromatosis. That being said, inheriting these abnormal genes from both of your parents is the top <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/14971-hemochromatosis-iron-overload" target="_blank" rel="noopener">risk factor</a> for developing hemochromatosis.</p><p><strong>Secondary hemochromatosis </strong>is when medical conditions or treatments result in an overload of iron. Most commonly, Piatek says the culprit is getting multiple blood transfusions. She says some conditions that require chronic blood transfusions, which may lead to hemochromatosis, are:</p><ul><li>Thalassemia syndromes</li><li>Sickle cell disease</li><li>Bone marrow failure syndromes</li><li>Aplastic anemia</li><li>Myelodysplastic syndromes</li><li>Hematologic malignancies</li></ul><p>These cases can be tricky since the treatment of the underlying condition is causing the iron overload. In these situations, Piatek says patients often need specific therapy to manage the transfusion-associated iron overload. Examples of these treatments are iron chelation therapy and therapeutic phlebotomy.</p><p>Some other medical <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/14971-hemochromatosis-iron-overload" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conditions or situations that are risk factors for hemochromatosis</a> are:</p><ul><li>Liver disease</li><li>Hepatitis C</li><li>Anemia</li><li>Receiving kidney dialysis</li><li>Taking iron pills or injections </li></ul><p>Additionally, hemochromatosis is <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443" target="_blank" rel="noopener">more common in certain groups of people</a>, including:</p><ul><li>Men, particularly over the age of 40 (they are more likely to develop it since women lose iron during menstruation)</li><li>People of Northern European descent </li></ul><h2>Insider's takeaway</h2><p>Since hemochromatosis doesn't always show symptoms, it can be tricky to know if you have it. "<span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Among the indicators suggesting much more strength than Q1 GDP is the ADP series; it was reported up a healthy 220K </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">in April," HFE's Jim O'Sullivan writes in a note this morning. "We still forecast a 3.5% pace for real GDP in Q2. We also forecast a 185K rise in payrolls in the BLS report on Friday, a little below the 215K consensus but a solid number after allowing for the tendency recently for upward revisions to initially reported data."</span></p>

There were also significant amounts of fiber (5g), calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, alpha-lipoic acid, CoQ10, MSM, and phytosterol. </p><p>When you access your Rootine account, you can see why your multivitamin contains the nutrients it does. For example, my vitamin has 506 mg calcium, which is higher than most because <a href="https://rootinevitamins.com/?rfsn=3121432.2c33b2&amp;utm_source=refersion&amp;utm_medium=influencers&amp;utm_campaign=3121432.2c33b221432.2c33b2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rootine</a> determined my lifestyle and genes warranted an elevated dose. My profile also shows what the vitamins are intended for. We don't have room to cover all of them in this review, and there's an <a href="https://rootinevitamins.com/pages/nutrigenetics" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">easy-to-understand explanation here</a>, but here are a few ways a custom-made vitamin could be advantageous for you, according to Dr. Wallerstorfer:</p><ul><li>If you have the HFE gene, your body stores more iron than needed, <a href="https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/hereditary-hemochromatosis" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">a condition called hemochromatosis</a>. If you were to take a supplement with extra iron in it, it could potentially be fatal.</li><li>Rootine takes your lifestyle into consideration for several reasons. At the most extreme, my vitamin C dose was 182% the RDA. Though there is no specific definition of "megadose," it's usually used to describe taking many times the recommended amount.</p><h3>What to keep in mind</h3><p>It's important to follow the directions for how to ingest the microbeads. I figured I'd just toss them in a bottle of water and drink them but this was a huge mistake as I had trouble getting the beads down my gullet. They would stick to the water bottle and the crevasses between my teeth.</p><p>Instead, I needed to put them in a thicker substance that didn't require chewing. Something like a thick smoothie works (and you'd add them <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-blender" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">after blending</a>) or I might sprinkle it on top of yogurt. My favorite method for swallowing the beads was to pour a little at a time directly onto my tongue — this takes some practice — before taking a swig of water.  </p><h3>A few inconveniences</h3><p>To me, the microbeads are annoying but they're a nice option if you have trouble swallowing large multivitamins. <a href="https://rootinevitamins.com/?rfsn=3121432.2c33b2&amp;utm_source=refersion&amp;utm_medium=influencers&amp;utm_campaign=3121432.2c33b221432.2c33b2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Rootine</a> co-founder Rachel Sanders told me the design "ensures the best quality product and optimal delivery for vitamins and minerals." She added, "The innovative slow-release microbeads deliver a customized dosage of vitamins into your bloodstream throughout the day, which is aligned with how the human body absorbs nutrients from food."</p><p>The DNA test was a little bit of a pain, too. You're supposed to swab out your mouth first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything. I need espresso to exist and down a shot of it before even opening my eyes. It took some real trickery to derail my normal routine to do the DNA test (this is dramatic, I know). </p><p>Once I sent the test back, it seemed like there was a large window — six weeks — before I finally got my vitamins. Fortunately, they told me this would be the case ahead of time and sent updates throughout the process. Plus, you only have to do the test once before the vitamins arrive like clockwork. You might also consider skipping the DNA test altogether since the efficacy of it is questionable.</p><h2>The bottom line</h2><iframe src="https://produktor.businessinsider.com/productCardService?id=5dc46df77eece5373835b94d&amp;type=small&amp;live=true" width="100%" height="150%" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute; top:0; left: 0"></iframe><p>After the long customization process, and once I got the hang of the microbeads, I found <a href="https://rootinevitamins.com/?rfsn=3121432.2c33b2&amp;utm_source=refersion&amp;utm_medium=influencers&amp;utm_campaign=3121432.2c33b221432.2c33b2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rootine</a> to be an outstanding multivitamin. Based on my opinion, they kept my health on track even when my eating was less than exemplary. But is it worth the $2 a day price tag? </p><p>I found the experience to be positive but due to a lack of scientific evidence capable of confirming Rootine's claims, it's not guaranteed you'd feel the same about them as I did. <p>Expectations are for a reading of 210,000 from 191,000.</p>
<p>Around this time last month, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/economists-criticize-adp-payroll-report-2014-4">we reported</a> that some analysts were rebelling against the weight given ADP's ability to predict the actual jobs number from the BLS. The contention was that it is too reliant on BLS data and not on its own figures, making it sort of useless. What's more, the analysts said, ADP wasn't even using BLS data properly, and that it often ended up with a number closer to the previous month's official figure. </p>
<p>Then ADP totally proved them wrong by basically <a href="http://www.businessinsider.my/adp-nails-the-jobs-number-2014-4/#.U2DfhOZdW_c">nailing the number</a>, which came in at 192,000. </p>
<p>In a note this morning, HFE's Jim O'Sullivan says Friday's print will prove another test, but that the critics seem to have outkicked their coverage:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">...while we have never viewed the ADP series as a very  reliable monthly indicator, and would prefer if the data were more  clearly independent from the BLS series, we think the scathing criticism is not merited. Realistically, the ADP series will never make the   employment report redundant, but it does at least provide another  gauge of whether trends are suddenly changing. As with jobless  claims, its message a few months ago was that the sudden weakening in payrolls in December and January was exaggerated. </span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">For the record, the median ADP miss, without regard to sign, has </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">been 36K for the initially reported data in the 18 months since </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Moody's became the compiler. That is a clear improvement relative </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">to the 62K median miss in the prior 18 months. However, it is slightly </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">larger than the 31K median consensus miss in the last 18 months; the </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">median consensus miss was 44K in the prior 18 months.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Let's see what happens.</span></p>

HERE COMES ADP'S PRIVATE PAYROLLS REPORT...

<p><img class="float_right" src="http://static2.businessinsider.com/image/5149747beab8ea4d3000001a-400-300/bernanke-11.jpg" border="0" alt="bernanke" />It's Fed day in the US, and in the afternoon, <keyword id="45366" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ben-Bernanke">Ben Bernanke</keyword> will be holding a press conference.</p>
<p>He's widely expected to say that the gas pedal remains press down for the foreseeable future.</p>
<p>Ben White at POLITICO passes this along in today's <a href="http://www.politico.com/morningmoney/">Morning Money</a> newsletter:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>HFE’s Jim O’Sullivan</strong>: “We expect the message on Fed policy, including QE3, will remain ‘full speed ahead’ in the <keyword id="136502" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="FOMC">FOMC</keyword> statement and the chairman’s press conference today. Officials will have to acknowledge a pick-up in growth in Q … and they may tweak the wording on QE3 slightly, but the end result will likely be no deviation from current policies and no hint that a scaling down in the pace of easing is imminent. The main reason for continued easing: The unemployment rate remains ‘elevated.’”</p>
<p>This is key.</p>
<p>While there's a lot of talk about when we'll finally see Fexit (a Fed exit from its unorthodox easing measures) Bernanke doesn't want to indulge in that. Even if he were thinking in his head about exiting, he wants to send the economy the message that if anything he'll overshoot, and let inflation go hot in order to get jobs down.</p>
<p>Eventually he may tighten, but for now the signaling should be that he's still going full throttle, even as the economy seems to be turning.</p>

Bernanke Will Send The Economy A Crucial Message At His Press Conference Today

<p><img class="float_right" src="http://static2.businessinsider.com/image/4d3da59f49e2ae626e050000-400-300/now-how-not-to-be-broke.jpg" border="0" alt="Empty Wallet" /><keyword id="87998" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Retail-sales">Retail sales</keyword> climbed by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/january-2013-retail-sales-2013-2">0.1 percent in January</a>, which was right in line with expectations.</p>
<p>This is largely being taken as good news because this was the first month that consumers got his with the <keyword id="932876" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="payroll-tax">payroll tax</keyword> hike. In other words, it was a good thing that the report wasn't much worse than expected.</p>
<p>However, a handful of economists warn that the impact will likely have a more pronounced effect in future reports.</p>
<p>"[T]he tax hikes and latest leap in gasoline prices (which will leave households with less cash to spend on other items) could hit spending harder in February and March," says Paul Dales of Capital Economics.</p>
<p>High Frequency Economics' Jim O'Sullivan also thinks we shouldn't get too excited about positive growth in today's report.  Like Dales, O'Sullivan thinks the impact of the tax hike could show up in a future report.  From a note earlier this week.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The apparent strength in retail sales in January should not be viewed as evidence that the payroll tax hike will have no impact: With the tax reducing disposable income by 0.9%—equivalent to 0.7% of GDP—and many individuals living paycheck to paycheck, there clearly will be an impact on growth. The CBO has estimated a 0.5-point hit to GDP in 2013; that number looks reasonable to us.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">So why the apparent rise in spending in January? In part, the pattern reflects lags, with consumers adjusting their spending over several months. <strong>The impact on spending was not immediately obvious when payroll taxes were cut two years ago, either. In part, it reflects the vagaries of January data, with spending down sharply from December before seasonal adjustment. Also, some of the spending in January is a product of gift cards purchased and received in December. However, part of the pattern likely also reflects the spending power being generated by an increasingly healthy labor market recovery</strong>.</p>

Don't Get Excited Yet - That Payroll Tax Hike Will Slam Us In The Next Few Months

<p>The U.S. housing market has been one of the bright spots of the global economy.</p>
<p>But the data hasn't not been uniformly bullish.</p>
<p>Economists have noted that <keyword id="408274" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="new-home-sales">new home sales</keyword> has been a laggard. And with housing starts roaring back, some are concerned that the market for new homes may soon see a supply glut.</p>
<p>Here's TD Securities Millan Mulraine:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>New home sales to improve</strong><br />The new homes market has been a laggard in the overall housing market recovery, and while new homebuilding and existing home sales activity have risen significantly from their lows, new home sales have yet to enjoy a similar turnaround in fortune. In December, we expect sales activity to improve modestly, with the pace of sales boasting a respectable 6.1% m/m gain to 400K. The increase in sales will add to the positive momentum in November, when sales rose an equally impressive 4.4% m/m, justifying the surge in optimism among homebuilders (as seen in the NAHB homebuilders’ sentiment report) about sales prospects in recent months. In the coming months, we expect the positive momentum in new home sales activity to be sustained, though it is likely to continue to lag the buoyancy in the existing homes market.</p>
<p>Here's a chart.  The concern is that lagging new home sales could cause another supply glut.</p>

Indeed, housing is now the strongest part of the economy—in growth terms, not levels. At 377K, the November reading for new home sales was just a fraction of the 1.389 million level reached in 2005, but it was up 15% from 12 months earlier. We expect the uptrend to continue in today’s report for December.</p>

New Home Sales Is The Only Housing Metric That Has Anyone Worried These Days

Supply and affordability have also weighed on new home sales.</p>
<p>Economists have been <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-cuts-housing-forecast-2014-5">slashing their housing forecasts</a> recently following the deteriorating data.</p>
<p>Even Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen has expressed concern about the housing recovery as well.</p>
<p>But with the weather warming up and mortgage rates declining, some economists expect the housing recovery to get back on track.</p>
<p>This week we get existing and new home sales data that should show a modest improvement.</p>
<p>Existing home sales are expected to rise 2.2% month-over-month to an annualized pace of 4.69 million. Moreover, the pending home sales index increased modestly in March, and the series leads existing home.</p>
<p>New home sales are expected to rise 10.7% MoM to an annualized pace of 425,000. This comes after a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/march-new-home-sales-2014-4">dramatic 14.5% fall</a> the previous month. </p>
<p>A key thing to note is that the mortgage applications purchase index has been trending up since early March. Here's a chart from Jim O'Sullivan, chief economist at High Frequency Economics.</p>

Taking April's data along with the gains we've seen in February and March, Diggle writes that starts are up 26.4% over the past year and "have made up pretty much all of their earlier losses relating to the severe winter weather."</p>
<p>Housing starts are below the 1.5 million level needed to meet demand from household formation and he thinks there is scope for starts to rise more.</p>
<p>Unlike the increasing Wall Street consensus that housing won't contribute as much to GDP growth, Diggle writes that "this suggests that, following negative contributions in the past two quarters, residential investment will be a tailwind for GDP growth again soon."</p>
<p>He also isn't too alarmed by the modest decline in homebuilder confidence. "Previous similar run-ups and subsequent moderations in homebuilder confidence have not signalled the end of recoveries in housing starts," he writes.</p>
<p>And then there's the 0.7% rise in the Fed's measure of closed mortgages - where you can't refinance the loan or renegotiate it. "That partly reflects rising house prices and higher loan-to-value ratios increasing the value of the typical mortgage application, to a record high of $277,500 in April. That's above the peak of $250,000 reached during the boom years," writes Diggle.</p>
<p>And the average FICO credit score of newly approved mortgages was 725 in March, down from 750 a year ago (although it's above the average of 690) - something <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/us-mortgage-lending-is-starting-to-ease-2014-4">we previously discussed</a>.</p>
<p>Diggle admits that not all the data has been positive but he thinks the housing market is "bouncing back from its weather- related lull," and "that's consistent with the fundamentals of an undervalued and affordable market, and means that the housing market is unlikely to experience the extended weak period that Yellen fears."</p>

Why The Housing Market Isn't Doomed To Tumble

<p><strong>Fed Day. </strong>The FOMC will give its latest guidance on monetary policy at 2 p.m. Bill McBride at Calculated Risk <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/one-sentence-fomc-preview-2014-4#ixzz30McIbcsm">says it'll be mostly staying the course</a>. "I expect the FOMC to announce a $10 billion decrease in asset purchases, to blame the early year weakness mostly on the weather, and to express some concern about housing and also concern that inflation is too low."</p>
<p><strong>Twitter Shares Sink. </strong>The stock is down 12.6% before the bell after the San Francisco-based group announced disappointing user growth. "Costolo's explanations [for the miss] were admirable, but fell short," <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-q1-earnings-2014-4#ixzz30Mm13u31">BI's Jay Yarow said</a>. "When the call started, Twitter was down 8-9%. By the end of the call, it was down 10-11%." </p>
<p><strong>Mortgage Demand Plummets.</strong> Applications <a href="http://www.calculatedriskblog.com/2014/04/mba-mortgage-applications-decrease-in_30.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&amp;utm_medium=twitter">fell</a> 5.9% to their lowest level since December 2000. Refi demand fell 7% to the lowest level since 2008. <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Japan PMI. </strong>Japan's April <a href="http://www.markiteconomics.com/Survey/PressRelease.mvc/4786eaed9e824f26b646f9286624726e">Markit manufacturing survey</a> yielded some mixed results. The headline PMI fell to 49.4 in April from 53.9 in March. That's the first sub-50 reading in 14 months. Any reading below 50 signals contraction."As was expected, the implementation of the increase in the sales tax negatively impacted on Japanese manufacturing companies," noted Markit's Amy Brownbill. "Output and new orders both fell for the first time in 14 months. In both cases, Japanese manufacturing companies linked the reductions to the increase in the sales tax."</p>
<p><strong>IMF: Russia Is Already In Recession. </strong><span></span><span>The International Monetary Fund <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/imf-russia-is-already-in-recession-2014-4#ixzz30MkP0Icv">said</a> Wednesday that Russia is already in recession. The organization also slashed its growth forecast for 2014 to 02.% from 1.3% just a few weeks ago citing the effect of the Ukraine crisis on investment. "If we define recession as negative growth in two quarters in a row, then Russia from that point of view is experiencing recession," IMF economist Antonio Spilimbergo was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.  </span></p>
<p><strong>Eurozone Inflation Higher. </strong>Prices climbed 0.7%, less than the 0.8% expected but better than 0.5% in March. "European Central Bank governing council member Christian Noyer said Wednesday he favors some additional measures to loosen monetary policy, but said the central bank is already doing a lot," <a href="http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303678404579533170337662130?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTWhatsNewsCollection&amp;mg=reno64-wsj">the Wall Street Journal reported</a>. 'I think we can do a little bit more, but essentially we have done what is necessary,' he said on French radio Europe 1."</p>
<p><strong>Justice Looking Into Illicit Tax Shelters</strong>. The Justice Department is looking to bring criminal charges against Credit Suisse and BNP Paribas for providing illicit tax shelters to U.S. clients and financing blacklisted governments respectively, <a href="http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/04/29/u-s-close-to-bringing-criminal-charges-against-big-banks/?_php=true&amp;_type=blogs&amp;hp&amp;_r=0">the New York Times reports.</a> The FT <a href="http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/73c567e2-d035-11e3-af2b-00144feabdc0.html?siteedition=intl#axzz30GyhPtOC">says</a> BNP has warned its penalty could be in hte multiple billions.</p>
<p><strong>ADP. </strong>At 8:15 a.m. we get the ADP employment report for April. Consensus is for a reading of 210,000 versus 190,000 prior. "The ADP report received a lot of criticism from some analysts ahead  of last month's release, but the critics were at least temporarily  quieted by just a 1K miss: The BLS reported private payrolls up 192K,  almost identical to the 191K ADP estimate," HFE's Jim O'Sullivan said in a note this morning. "The monthly ADP estimate reflects a combination of current-month  data derived from ADP clients' employee records and an estimate  of the recent trend, based in large part on the latest BLS data. As a  result, last month's payrolls data will affect this month's ADP estimate. The point of contention is whether the ADP estimate has become  overly dependent on the latest BLS data, and not enough on ADP's  independent information, such that the ADP series is a better indicator of the prior month's payrolls than the current month's. Indeed,  data for some months recently seem to fit that pattern, although we  suspect the outcome is largely by chance. According to Mark Zandi  of Moody's Analytics, which helps compile the data, 96% of the variation in ADP from month to month is due to the independent ADP data."</p>
<p><strong>GDP. </strong>At 8:30 a.m. we get a Q1 GDP reading. Estimates are for a print of <span>1.2% growth, down from 2.6% prior. This would be driven by an estimated 2.0% growth in personal consumption.<br /></span></p>
<p><strong>Markets. </strong>Are going nowhere. TimeWarner just announced they'd beat on earnings. Other earnings today include Yelp and MetLife.</p>
