A group of Indians hailing from the state of Gujarat and now living in China, have innovated and are manufacturing a phone dedicated to <keyword id="64897" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Gujarat-chief-minister">Gujarat Chief Minister</keyword> and now <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>’s prime ministerial candidate <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>. Called the Smart NAMO Saffron 272+, this <keyword id="6354485" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="mobile">mobile</keyword> phone has a 5 inch touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 2, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and a 13 MP camera. It runs on the <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> platform 4.2.1 (according to their <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> page) and is going to have 16 or 32 GB on-board storage. The phones will come in boxes with tri-colours on them and will be available all over the country. 
 
We have already seen some NAMO merchandise, such as T-shirts and coffee mugs with Narendra Modi’s picture on them. But a phone named after the current Gujarat CM, takes the game to the next level. This just shows that gadgets will be a huge part of the upcoming 2014 election affair in India. But how many parties will pick it up, is yet to be seen. At the moment, this phone seems to be the only tech innovation labelled with a political figure. The phone will retail for Rs 16,000 and we have a hunch it will come with Narendra Modi’s wallpaper and a few NAMO apps as well.

On Sunday, Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> hosted a 'Digital India' dinner for top tech CEOs at San Jose, California in the US. 
 
At the dinner, some of the prominent leaders who met the Prime Minister were John Chambers (Executive Chairman of Cisco Systems), Sundar Pichai (Google CEO), Satya Nadella (Microsoft CEO) and Paul Jacobs (Executive Chairman of Qualcomm). 
 The trip to <keyword id="6357722" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="silicon-valley">Silicon Valley</keyword> forms part of Modi's visit to the US' west coast - the first by an Indian prime minister in more than three decades. 
 
"With Prime Minister Narendra Modi in office, we have the opportunity to reinvigorate US-India relations and bring our partnership to new heights," Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman of the powerful House Foreign Affairs Committee said in a welcome statement as soon as Modi landed at San Jose Airport.

PM Narendra Modi hosts 'Digital India' dinner

With renewable and alternative sources of energy high on his priority list, Prime Minster <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> on Saturday paid a visit to the headquarters of <keyword id="156689" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tesla-Motors">Tesla Motors</keyword> at Pao Alto to get a feel on what could drive the automobiles in the future. 
 
Soon after his arrival here and an interaction with the Indian-American community, the prime minister left for the facility of Tesla that was was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that electric cars can be better than gasoline-powered cars. 
 Modi, who had landed at the Norman Y. Minte San Jose International Airport, was driven around the facility in a battery-powered cart after which he also posed for some photos standing next to a gleaming red car manufactured by the company with chief executive <keyword id="6355315" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Elon-Musk">Elon Musk</keyword>. 
 
"Prime Minister Modi and I talked about electricity generation and how there are ways to skip ahead with it as with cellphones," Musk, the company's principal engineer, inventor and investor told PTI later.

Narendra Modi announces Union Cabinet portfolio

Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> today left for the <keyword id="6354458" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="US">US</keyword> after ending his engagements in Switzerland , where he secured the European nation's support for India's NSG membership ahead of a key meeting of the 48-nation bloc. 
 
"Au Revoir Geneve! In under half a day, PM completes visit and emplanes for Washington DC," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted. 
 
During the visit, India and Switzerland also agreed to step up cooperation to unearth blackmoney Indians stashed in Swiss banks. 
 In Washington, the Prime Minister will meeet President <keyword id="15962" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Barack-Obama">Barack Obama</keyword> at the Oval Office, their sixth after Modi assumed power. He is also scheduled to address a joint session of US Congress on June 8. 
 
Modi is on a five-nation tour. He began his travel in Afghanistan, then travelled to Qatar and Switzerland. 
 After the US, he will visit <keyword id="3746" type="COUNTRY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mexico">Mexico</keyword> at the invitation of President Enrique Pena Nieto.

Not only was it <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/GodSaveTheOcean-This-Ganesh-Chaturthi-Mumbai-NGO-makes-idols-that-fish-can-eat/articleshow/48786857.cms">Ganesh Chaturthi</a>, but it also happened to be the birthday of India’s beloved Prime Minister, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Educate-In-India-Narendra-Modis-new-pet-project/articleshow/47456640.cms">Narendra Modi</a>. So, as is tradition, one would have expected not only his party (<keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>), but the entire country to shower extravagant blessings on its favourite son. But, hold your horses, because Modi had a diktat for how not to celebrate his birthday, a diktat that was supposed to have been followed to the ‘T’. 
 
The message was clear- the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=BJP">BJP</a> top management was not to make Modi’s birthday a national event. After all, it is for dynastic parties like the <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> to put up posters in every street corner wishing their “young” Vice-President a happy one! For once, perhaps, Modi-fans and sycophants, agreed. Some people might say, “Thank God for small mercies”, maybe this dissuaded <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/topic/Mallika-Sherawat">Mallika Sherawat</a> from reprising her Marilyn Monroe-act and singing “Happy Birthday, Prime Minister”. 
 
But such diktats do little to subdue the indomitable spirit of the young and enterprising. A company that promotes hygienic sanitation in India and builds toilets printed birthday cards to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday with a call for “janm-divas samaroh” (a birthday get-together). A young and very enterprising minister; who has been in the eye of storm recently, for his politically incorrect statements; was the chief guest of this get together and unveiled a 365 kg jumbo ‘laddu’ to mark the special day. But this Minister of State with Independent Charge of a couple of ministries was quick to dub the event as a conference to mark the organizer’s achievements in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=SWACHH+BHARAT">Swachh Bharat</a> Mission; a programme close to the birthday boy’s heart. 
 Another event, another young minister but the same date: September 17. This young and dynamic Minister of State decided to mark the PM’s birthday by calling it “an auspicious day”. Though he was quick to add that it was Ganesh Chaturthi as well as Vishwakarma puja that were being celebrated on the same day. But the minister wanted to make sure that his birthday wish was conveyed to the right man, so he decided to make the auspicious day remark again, the moment he saw his boss, the Cabinet Minister walk into the conference. After all, his boss is known to enjoy <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>’s confidence and have his ear. But seasoned politician that his boss is, he chose not to acknowledge the birthday remark of his junior minister. 
 
Maybe one should follow the First Citizen of India’s example and just take to Twitter for birthday wishes.

PM Narendra Modi's top 5 quotes at the UN Summit

Prime Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Narendra+Modi+">Narendra Modi</a> on Saturday visited the strategic <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=pathankot">Pathankot Air Force base</a> for a first-hand assessment of the situation in the aftermath of the terror attack last Saturday. 
 
Security forces had yesterday declared the sprawling Air Force station fully sanitised after a massive combing operation spanning over three days. 
 
"The combing operation at the Air Force station is over," a senior IAF official said, adding the entire area has been sanitised. 
 
 Six terrorists, believed to owe allegiance to Pakistan-based <keyword id="119193" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaish-e-Mohammed">Jaish-e-Mohammed</keyword> were gunned down by the security forces after a four-day gun battle. Seven security personnel also lost their lives. 
 The operation to ensure that no terrorist was hiding was carried out jointly by Army, NSG and IAF's <keyword id="1545467" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Garud-Commandos">Garud commandos</keyword>. 
 
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had also visited the base on January five. 
 
Pakistan Prime Minister <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Nawaz+Sharif+">Nawaz Sharif</a> had called up Modi and promised action against the perpetrators of the brazen attack. 
 
During his visit, the Prime Minister is also likely to undertake an aerial survey of the Indo-Pak border areas, official sources said. 
 
Elaborate security arrangements are in place in Pathankot for Modi's visit and media has been stationed near the entrance of the air base. 
 
 
During his visit to the strategic facility on January 5, Parrikar had admitted to "some gaps" that led to the attack. The perpetrators were believed to have infiltrated the Indian territory from a spot near Bamiyal village in Pathankot located close to the international border.

Bombs danced on the laps of political agendas, as the weaker nations were dressed to be depressed under the address of the sanction that geographical borderline disorders were indeed good for them. 
 
While Yellow Journalism, in the first half of the century, took the cake for manipulating people with its white lies about the concepts of drugs, people, and war, which eventually turned out to be black, was orchestrated mainly to contain the Hispanic migration crisis, chasten the quality of equality in the profound segments of race and gender, and increase the wealth and jurisdiction of the law-making and imposing establishments - it was indeed, a man called Harry J. Asnlinger</keyword> led the successful formation of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, an international treaty that codifies all existing treaties on drug control, including the cultivation of plants that were grown or caused to be part of raw material that came under the umbrella of narcotic drugs. Once signed, this convention also limits the manufacture, production, possession, use, trade, distribution, import and export of narcotic drugs, save for medical and scientific pursuits. 
 <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>, under the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru, the nation's first prime minister, to honour its obligations with the Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, signed the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 30 March, 1961. And on 13 December, 1964 the treaty was ratified. However, international treaties or conventions were not going to clip the wings of India's holistic connection with marijuana. Just not yet. 
 When <keyword id="191987" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ronald-Reagan">Ronald Reagan</keyword> became the 40th US president, his administration began twisting the arm of <keyword id="12596" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajiv-Gandhi">Rajiv Gandhi</keyword> to make marijuana illegal in India. Consequentially, in 1985, India established the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). Before this act, India could and was able to practically dance in the open about its consumption or sale of marijuana. 
 54 years before we had successfully negotiated with and had finally managed to ask the British to leave us their alphabet and take their letters and go back to where they came from, they were pretty impressed with our deep-rooted weed economics. So in 1893, the British appointed a joint study called '<keyword id="2885065" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indian-Hemp-Drugs-Commission">Indian Hemp Drugs Commission</keyword>' concerning the growth, manufacture, consumption, and social-cultural impacts from the intake of marijuana in any form. 
 
One year later, the conclusion set on top of a 3,281 page report, along with the testimony from almost 1,200 people belonging to diverse cultures, ethnicities, professions, builds, and mindset was - “moderate use of hemp drugs was practically attended by no evil results at all. The intake produces no injuries on the mind and there is no moral injury whatsoever.”

If Mary Jane flirts with our Hypothalamus, receptors that regulate sexual behaviour and appetite, we will experience an increase in the appetite and feel aroused beyond our regular frame. And when Mary Jane caresses our spinal cord that is responsible for the transmission of information between body and brain, we will experience our pain sensitivities being altered – one of the reasons why marijuana is used as a pain suppressant or stress reliever. 
 
We primarily have nine distinguished cannabinoid receptors in the brain. Very rarely weed strikes more than three receptors at the same time.

Being from a right wing party, we are sure an empathy can be made about the tradition, association and fact that we as a nation is attached to weed like a a mother is to her child, through the umbilical cord. The cord may be cut. But the bond will remain. It's a sacred bond. Do you think you could help us secure that bond, Mr Modi? 
 
Expectations kill. So does smoking marijuana, right? That's what men with guns and tear gas make us believe every time we step forward with a petition on our tongue. What happens when two heads of two nations meet? Discuss defence, talk about economy or maybe something on civil nuclear. But this is not what PM <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> plans to discuss with his French counterpart. In fact, PM Modi plans to have a discussion around culture, heritage and history reveals an Economic Times report. The financial daily mentions that Modi’s agenda of discussion in <keyword id="106" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Paris">Paris</keyword> includes an agreement to pair national monuments and heritage sites - possibly starting with New Delhi's imposing India Gate and the Arc de Triomphe in the heart of the French capital. 
 The agreement that India and <keyword id="6354785" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="France">France</keyword> are expected to sign to 'twin' iconic structures and monuments, based on similarities they share, may include as many as six pairings and are aimed at strengthening the cultural links between the two countries, officials from the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India told the ET. 
 
The modalities of arrangement will be worked out later by the governments and associated bodies such as ASI and its counterpart in France. The ideas being discussed include putting up plaques at the monuments to generate awareness about their foreign twins and to have imprints of both structures on tickets and publicity brochures. India Gate and the Arc de Triomphe have many similarities that make them ideal as paired monuments. 
 
The similarity between the two monuments includes triumphal arches built to commemorate unknown soldiers who laid down their lives for the country, are located in the capital and revered as patriotic sites. The financial daily also said, the 42 metre high India Gate commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during World War I, while the Arc de Triomphe, at 49.5 metres, stands at the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle in honour of those who fought for France, especially during the Napoleonic Wars. The names of soldiers are engraved on both structures. 
 
If all goes well, Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan may also be linked to Carcassonne in France. 
 
The Basilica of Bom Jesus in Goa is proposed to be twinned with the Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Chartres. Both are Catholic churches and key pilgrim centres. Other sites that could be linked are the prehistoric rock shelters of Bhimbetka in MP with the Lascaux Caves in southwestern France, famous for Palaeolithic cave paintings. 
 
New Delhi's Lodi Gardens could be linked with the Jardin des Tuileries - both much-frequented and loved public parks in the capital cities. There is also a plan to link Mysore Palace with a Chateau in France. India and France are also expected to collaborate on preventive and underwater archaeology, training of personnel and joint research.
