These are 5 best cars that rocked 2016 and broke all records
The automobile segment has been on a rough patch due to several reasons, first due to diesel ban and now due to demonetization. But, if we glance back, many automobile companies did fairly well and even saw record breaking sales. Some of the companies such as Maruti were even unaffected by demonetization as their sales surged. The year also saw many new launches that became an instant hit in the market. Many four-wheelers such as Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, revamped Toyota Fortuner, etc ruled the market. Maruti and Hyundai, specifically, beat cash ban blues, so much so that Maruti may touch selling 1.58 million units by the end of this fiscal. Maruti’s Brezza has a waiting period of 20-24 weeks. There were many other cars that made a mark in 2016. These are 5 best cars that were launched in 2016 and took over by storm

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
Maruti Suzuki has been the market leader for a long time and stood up to its reputation this year too. Vitara Brezza goes a long way to prove it. The subcompact SUV was launched at the Auto Expo in Feb 2016, and since its arrival a few weeks later the carmaker cannot stop its Brezza juggernaut. AMT and petrol version of the car is expected to arrive in 2017.

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Fortuner

Fortuner has always been the beast in its segment and with its new car, it just got the class with comfort thing right. The older car's butch looks are almost gone, and have been replaced by an attempt at sophistication and beauty. Contemporary bits like DRLs simply add to it. It’s already a hit, and waiting periods will only grow on this beast.

Ford Endeavour

Ford Endeavour
The new Endeavour came back in a new generation avatar at the 2016 Auto Expo as well. And what we got was a hulk alright, but one with a silken or velvet touch. Much-improved ride and comfort, massively better performance and the choice of two diesel engines. The car comes in 4WD/2WD and automatic/manual options and all variants come pretty much fully loaded. It’s a good value for money car.

Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai Elantra
Even though, Hyundai’s plate was full with the success of Creta and i20, the car maker launched another successful car. The Elantra though is not a massive volumes model but has breathed life into an almost defunct segment. That it carries Hyundai's Fluidic 2.0 styling, a more modern manufacturing process and is loaded with creature comforts and gizmos is only more reason to applaud the Elantra.

Renault Kwid AMT

Renault Kwid AMT
An AMT in the segment may not be new, but adding the 1.0 litre engine and the funky rotary dial AMT has been another masterstroke in the Kwid playbook. The car has taken the market by a blow. The car has almost everything a person can expect from a 1.0 litre engine ranging from style to power.
