BYD India on Tuesday announced the launch of the BYD Seal, the company’s third electric car and its first electric sedan in the country. The company already sells the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD e6 electric cars in India.

The BYD Seal looks similar to the Tesla Model 3, which is not available in India at present. The company has already started accepting bookings for the electric sedan.

BYD Seal price in India and variants

The BYD Seal has been priced at ₹41 lakh ex-showroom for the Dynamic variant, ₹45.5 lakh ex-showroom for the Premium variant and ₹53 lakh ex-showroom for the top-end Performance variant.

BYD Seal features and specifications

The BYD Seal features a coupe-like silhouette and comes with double-U floating LED headlamps and inserts on the front bumper. It features large C-shaped DRLs, 19-inch diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels and flush-fitting electronic door handles.

At the back, the BYD Seal features a full-width LED bar along with LED taillamps and a black diffuser. At the top, the electric sedan features a panoramic sunroof.

Coming to the interiors, the BYD Seal features a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a heads-up display. The seats are heated and cooled on the front, along with being 8-way electronically adjustable.

For safety, the BYD Seal is equipped with eight airbags, Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 360-degree camera, ABS with hill hold and more.

The Dynamic variant of the BYD Seal is equipped with a single motor that churns out 204 PS power and 310 Nm of peak torque. It is coupled with a 61.4 kWh battery that offers 460 km of range on a single charge.

The Premium variant is equipped with a single motor and churns out 313 PS power and 360 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a larger 82.5 kWh battery pack that offers 570 km of range.

Coming to the top-end Performance variant, it is equipped with dual-motor AWD that churns out 530 PS power and 670 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with the same 82.5 kWh battery pack as the Premium variant and offers a range of 520 km.
